Chapter Sixteen

Ayame laid on her bed, her arms laying across her chest as she thought about what had happened. She didn't know why her heart hurt so much, was it because she thought Kiba was cute? Ayame felt alone, she knew she couldn't tell Kurenai. Did girls tell their parents things like that?

Her heart once again felt a throb and the girl clutched her hands tighter, the tears in her eyes threatening to start spilling down her cheeks once again. She didn't like this feeling, not at all. She felt useless, someone who was strong wasn't supposed to act this way. She rarely saw any of her friends cry, therefore why was she crying?

Was it because she didn't mean anything? Ayame knew she wasn't supposed to even be here, she should have died alone in Orochimaru's hideout. The girl turned around so her face was deep inside her pillow and let out her sobs. Kurenai wasn't home but Ayame didn't even want to hear them herself.

She was tearing herself up. Finally she stood up, her eyes wild as she thought about what to do to let go of her pain. It seemed that hitting something always helped, even if it left her in pain afterwards.

Pain.

It was a strange word, one that could be taken in totally different meanings. Some found the word repulsive, slinking away at the mention of it while others felt guy in it. All problems could be solved by suffering a little pain.

Did emotions cause pain as well? Ayame didn't want to find out, she wanted to tear up Kiyomi and Kiba, the thought of the two even touching making Ayame gag.

The red-head pulled on her hair slightly, wincing but kept at it, her sobs now echoing off the walls in the room. Maybe this pain wasn't enough. . . maybe she would have to cause herself a more longer lasting pain.

A small growl came from the girls lips as she stood up with tear-filled eyes and searched for another way to let go. Her eyes stopped at her door, the plan coming to her mind instantly. It would hurt plus she'd have to make up an excuse for how it happened but Ayame couldn't handle it anymore.

She was driving herself insane.

It felt like thousands of bugs were crawling along her skin and Ayame started to panic. Her breathing quickened and she screamed slightly, her eyes now even playing tricks on her. She could see the bugs clearly but they obviously weren't there. The girls started scratching and hitting herself, before she rushed over to her door.

"Stop! Stop! Stop!" She screamed at nothing, positioning her arm in between the wall and the door before she stared to slam the door on her thin arm. Ayame bit her lip to keep from screaming, feeling the skin break and the blood go into her mouth.

Then she heard the crack.

The red-head stopped then, her wide eyes landing on her limp arm now hanging by her side. She let out a laugh, not being able to believe that she literally just broke her own arm on purpose.

She stumbled slightly when she went int the hallway, not only was her arm badly broken it was bleeding heavily. Ayame didn't expect this sort of outcome, she didn't even think about breaking her arm until a few minutes ago.

She finally made it into the street, trying to remember what way the hospital was in. It was dark out now and Ayame could feel the eyes of drunk men trailing after her. She didn't like this part of the village and wished Kurenai would move. She felt violated overtime she walked through here.

An arm appeared from an alleyway, grabbing Ayame and not allowing the girl to scream.

"You're the one that he's worried about? This'll be easy," A male voice said, sounding distant and farther away then they really were.

Ayame went to scream again but the voice shut her up instantly, he had never messed up a job before and didn't plan too now. He noticed Ayame's arm and grinned, that was the arm Ayame was dominant in which meant the girl was basically useless in a fight.

Ayame stopped screaming after awhile, feeling every hit, kick and punch that the man gave her. She didn't understand, she just wanted the pain to stop. This wasn't the type of pain that she wanted, no, she wanted pain that brought her joy but this wasn't it.

"P-please. . . s-stop. . . " Ayame whispered, her voice hoarse and sounding extremely disgusting. Ayame wanted to buy time, she wasn't amazing at sensing chakra but she could tell exactly who was coming her way.

Team 10, along with Asuma, would be walking down the street soon and Ayame could only hope she would be awake until then and could yell out to grab their attention. This male obviously aimed to beat her to death and she didn't want to die.

Blood dripped down her face, going into one of her eyes. She was slowly losing consciousness but team 10 was still a couple of streets away. She didn't think she could wait that long, however, there was something she could do that would most likely get the reaction of every ninja in the village.

With some of the last of her strength, Ayame winced when a kick come directly at her face and she swore she felt her jaw dislocate, the girl let out a surge of chakra. She kept it flaring and she could feel multiple chakra signatures near her stop where they were and start in her direction.

Ayame didn't even care who came to her anymore, she just needed help and fast.

The male felt it as well, his eyes widening when he realized what Ayame was doing. "You piece of shit," He punched her a few more times before he went into the shadows, disappearing completely and a shadow appeared at the end of the alleyway.

Asuma looked up from his spot while walking with his team, narrowing his eyes. He took off instantly, he knew this chakra and he was obviously the closet jonin to it. Team 10 exchanged looks before running after their sensei, not questioning it.

Asuma took a deep breath when he stopped in front of the alleyway, his eyes adjusting to the darkness and he gasped slightly when he saw a small form laying in a puddle of blood. Without a thought he ran over, scooping Ayame up in his arms and rushing off again.

Ayame was Kurenai's family and as a man who loved Kurenai, he would never let anything happen to Ayame if he could help it.

Shikamaru stopped behind his sensei and froze to his spot when he saw his sensei run off, red hair whipping all around him.

"No," he mumbled to himself, not being able to stop staring at the puddle of blood. It was a lot and Shikamaru wanted to scream at the world, instead he took off after his sensei. His thoughts rushing everywhere as he tried to think of every possible outcome of what could happen to Ayame.

The troublesome girl that he loved with all his heart.

++++++++

Ayame felt alone.

Terribly alone.

She sat in a field, her eyes wandering over to a few flowers that bloomed as soon as she looked at them. She scoffed, wanting to stomp on the flowers and destroy their beauty.

She pulled her knees to her chest, resting her chin on top of them. She was inside her mind, at least, that's what she thought. It looked like place she would go when she talked to Kuri.

"Child," Kuri's voice called and Ayame's eyes wandered over to the sound. She didn't feel like moving and winced slightly when Kuri sat down next to her.

Ayame was curious, she had never seen Kuri's face, only her eyes. She turned her head even more, frowning when a view was over the women's face, concealing it from Ayame's view.

Kuri smirked, however Ayame couldn't see that. "You'll find out what I look like soon enough, until then, you must be patient and wait. I'm hear to tell you about things, things that shouldn't be known but must be stopped at once."

Ayame nodded, tilting her head as she did so. "What's that?"

"I know you're planning on going home with your family," Kuri held up a hand when AYame went to protest, shaking her head. "Please, do not deny it. I know you're actions before you even take them. You'll wake up two hours before they're supposed to leave and at the last second, meet them at the gate and leave."

Ayame sat there, silent as could be and tried to process this. She had been planning on staying, could she try and change that?

"You will make a huge mistake that day. I cannot tell you what it is but when you return, your heart will once again hurt. Moving on, when you get home, I would like to warn you for your safety. The women in your house isn't your real mother."

"W-what? Then who is she?"

Kuri sighed, shaking her head. "Foolish child, she's a women who your father took in after your birth mother left without warning. She hates you with a burning passion. The person who tried killing you? He was sent by that women. I am only telling you this for your safety child, after all, if you die, I'll die as well and I cannot allow that."

Ayame sat there, absorbing everything into her brain. She looked up, startled when Kuri stood. Her kimono billowed around her while she walked away.

"Until next time, my child."

~~~~~~~~~~~~~
i dropped huge motherfucking hints in this chapter and if you guys don't know who Kuri is by now, idk what to tell you LOL
but anyways, I went more into depth on Ayame's emotions. I was looking through some comments, and people didn't understand why she switched her emotions so quickly and stuff.
Do you guys think I'm doing a better job in this chapter? I mean, if you were tortured by Orochimaru and never used emotions before, don't you think this in understandable?
Ayame is basically going insane, in case you couldn't tell.
There's also only like 4 more chapters left and then onto the sequel and I can't wait *.*
