Stolen Breath

Author's Note: I'm hopping on the Adrien is a cat headcanon. This fic was inspired by the picture/ post above.

"ADRIEN FUCKING AGRESTE, I SWEAR TO GOD IF YOU PUT YOUR PAW IN MY SODA, I WILL CUT YOUR DICK OFF!" Marinette yelled at her boyfriend, her hand drawn back to throw the shoe she held. She was perched on her pink chaise lounge, her figure frozen in action of disciplining her boyfriend.

Adrien looked at her, his face blank and pupils blown wide. His fingers hovered a few centimeters above the bubbly liquid residing in her glass.

This was the situation Nino and Alya walked in on when they entered the Dupain-Cheng household.

They could feel the charged air, energy bouncing and coming up to smother those not involved.

Alya, who had previous experience, did the only logical thing she could; she spun on her heel and walked out of the house.

"Alya, where are you going?"

"Home, Nino, home."

Nino frantically shifted his gaze between the scene before him and the empty doorway his girlfriend had just disappeared into.

"DON'T YOU FUCKING DARE, AGRESTE."

With that bellowed threat, Nino imitated his girlfriends previous actions and left. It was most likely one of the best decision either Nino and Alya had ever made, because as soon as both pairs of feet left the threshold, all hell broke loose.

Adrien's green eyes still locked on Marinette's blues, he left his fingers drop a centimeter more. A grin spreading across his features.

"ADRIEN...I SWEAR, DON'T YO--"

Before Marinette could even get her threat out, Adrien's face returned to the blank, wide eyed look it had previously held.

Looking straight into her eyes, he dipped his finger in the soda.

There was a second of a blessed calm, in which they both froze. Adrien held his fingers in the cold liquid, his gaze challenging; Marinette was still in her poised position, a shoe held high over her shoulder.

The air seemed afraid to buzz in the excited energy it had before, as if it was trying to hold its own breath to be completely silent. In the silence, the only thing that could be heard was Marinette's deep breath.

Then  she attacked.

She launched herself at Adrien after throwing the shoe she had in her hand;

"YOU FUCKING GODDAMN CAT! WHAT THE LITERAL FUCK, YOU WHORE FROM HELL! I HATE YOU!"

Adrien's grin was big enough to stretch far over his cheeks, darting across the room, barely being able to escape her frenzied attacks. As Adrien pounced from place to place, the more items and objects around Marinette's room were displaced.

Adrien heard a growl, from behind where he was perched on all fours on her desk chair. His eyes widening in fear as he slowly turned his head to look over his shoulder. Her hands were shaking in anger, reached out in midair as if she was about to claw at him. Adrien whipped his head back quickly; his butt wiggling, looking for his next location to pounce. Dread welled up in his stomach as he realized that due to the position he was in, the only place he could go would be up on her desk where all her work laid. He considered how angry Marinette would be if he actually jumped.

His hesitated for a second too long, even as he prepared to make the precarious jump (for more than one reason) he felt her hands digging into his shoulder.

Adrien yowled as Marinette sprung from where she had been standing. She tackled him with a war cry, Adrien's hissing and pitiful wailing's not enough to deter her.

*THUMP*

Adrien's wailing only increased in volume as they landed painfully on the floor. His obnoxious noises, self-pitying and muffled with Marinette on top of him; both awkwardly collapsed on the chair they had knocked over in their endeavors.

"MMMAAARRRRIIIIII!!!! YOOooUuu'rrreeee squuuuiiiissshhhiiiing meeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee! You're so HEAvvvvyyy. GEET oOOofff!" Adrien's whine just as high-pitched and annoying even though muffled.

"No, it's karma."

"YYYyyyooUuur booOObs areeee squiisShhing meeeEe, MAaarrIiiiI!"

Marinette looked down at her boyfriend's blonde head pressed into her chest. An amused smile making its way onto her face as her hands perched on the hardwood in front of Adrien's head and the disrupted chair, but made no moves to adjust her position and let her hands support weight. She might have begin to feel a little guilty if it weren't for the fact, that despite his whining and the awkward position, his hands had come up to circle her waist making it impossible for her to move.

They sat there, comfortable, catching their breath. All anger and negative feelings easily forgotten. Or at least until Marinette felt a sharp pain on her right breast. Sitting up quick as lightning, she took in Adrien's smirk and the bite mark on her boob.

She closed her eyes and breathed in deeply. She counted to five in her head, trying her best to remain calm.

"YOU FUCKING BRAT!" Marinette grabbed a stuffed animal that was laying near the scene of her desk wreckage and started to repeatedly beat her boyfriend whom she was currently straddling.

Her enraged pout only taking on more heat as Adrien's giggles increased.

Finally, after apparently being done with taking a beating sitting down, Adrien sat up abruptly and wrapped an arm around Marinette's waist and held her in place. With his other hand he fought for the stuffed animal-turned weapon. Marinette changed strategies and instead tried to keep it away with from him to the best of her ability. She cursed loudly as Adrien's longer arms allowed him to snatch the offending animal from her hand. She glared at him as he, in turn glared and hissed at the stuffed animal, before throwing it to the side. Grabbing her wrist, he gently restrained it. Not that she really fought, as being too busy pouting.

Grinning, Adrien began leaving small, wet kisses all over her face. When she continued to ignore his silent (sloppy) apologies, he tried the begging tactic;

"Aw c'mon bugaboo." He rubbed his head against her cheek, trying to get back into her good graces. As his rubbing became more insistant, both of his arms came to wrap around her waist. "I'm sorry I put my fingers in your drink."

"No you're not." She responded sullenly.

"Yes."

"No."

"Yes." Adrien said, stubbornness starting to seep into his voice.

They glared at each other until Marinette finally gave. She broke down into giggles and wrapped her arms around his neck in return.

"You're so annoying." She said, even as she nuzzled his face with her nose.

"You still love me."

"Yeah, yeah." She grumbled, noticing the self-satisfied smirk on his face but choosing to ignore it.

Adrien's grin once again stretched across his cheeks as he leaned forward and captured Marinette's lips with his. Her mood quickly draining away as he nipped at her bottom lip, deepening the kiss by slanting his mouth over hers and letting his tongue slip into her mouth. Mapping out caverns that always seemed new no matter how many times he explored them, a purr vibrated from the back of his throat, causing Marinette to giggle. He pulled back, breath stolen away by pretty, pink lips and too blue eyes.

"I love you too." He murmured before letting his breath be stolen again.
