Chapter 37~ Some people are just blind

~Chip's POV~

Chip slowly started to come around when something pricked his skin. His eyes opened and he had to close them due to the light that shinned down on him. He kept them closed for a little more until he slowly reopened them, his head throbbing in a large amount of pain. He let out a groan and tried to move one of his arms but he could only move it a little before something stopped him. He slowly looked down at his hand and the machine that was keeping track of his heart rate quickly picked up speed drawing in someone's attention. "He's awake!" They yelled as Chip was lost in the metal handcuff that kept him locked to the bed.

He went to sit forehead but a ball of pain shot through his shoulder making him cry out and grab at it with his free hand. He clenched his teeth to keep from crying out. Hands were quickly pushing him back down against the bed and Chip couldn't fight them back with the strength they were putting on him.

"Check his blood." A voice said and Chip just shifted, sweat pouring from his forehead.

What is going on? Where am I?

He felt some gloves grab at his left eye and force it open, a tiny spot of light being shinned in. He tried to blink or close his eye but whoever it was kept it open. They then moved to his other eye and shinned the light in, and he tried once again to close it but it didn't work. After shining the light in it, they let go and he pulled away, blinking hard.

"Get the syringe." A voice said and Chip froze in place. Oh heck no.

He looked up to see what looked like a nurse coming towards him and he cursed, pulling on the cuff. Heads soon were on him again and he could only watch as the needle was pressed into his skin.

~Skyler's POV~

*Flash Back*

"Tell them." He said, his voice shaky.

"Tell them what?" I said looking back at the bright flashlights.

"That I'm innocent." He hissed back.

That made me fight to hold back a laugh. He really thought he was innocent? Really?

"Chip, you're going mad, just set the gun down." I said.

The officer yelled again. "Put the gun down, you surrounded."

That was when it hit me, this wasn't about taking us, Chip was trying to tell us something and I think I know what he meant.

"This is about your mom, isn't it?" I said it loud so that maybe the officers could hear, maybe this was what Chip was trying to solve.

Chip didn't answers, instead, he loosed his grip and with one push, he pushed me to the side and my body slammed against the ground. Just as I turned my head, I saw Chip's figure point the gun toward the police and I screamed out as gun shoots filled the house. My mouth hung open as I watched the sliver gun fell from Chip's grip, he stood there for a second before he fell backward, his body making a loud thump as it connected with the floor. I covered my mouth as I tried to pull away as far as I could from him. Two holes were now in his body, one right in his left shoulder and the other to the side of his chest. His shirt starting to become wet with blood. I don't know what overcome me but I started crying. I don't know if it was because I was happy because I was finally free or because of Chip. Officers started hurrying into the room. Four running over to Chip who I thought for sure was dead, will some came rushing over to me.

*End of Flashback*

I looked out the window as his voice echoed through my mind. Chip. That was his name, Chip. The boy who held a gun to my head and basically looked like he was going to shot me. But he didn't, instead, he tried to die but the officers didn't shot to kill, they just sent him a lot of pain and mercy. Everything was slowly comeback, it felt like a book had just been opened and my brain was being refilled. My arms were crossed over my chest as I watched a random bird sitting on the edge of the roof, moving slowly across, flapping it's wings here and there. Luke was right, I would start remembering in a few hours, every little question that I had running through my head were slowly being answered.

"Skyler?" A voice said softly from behind me making me spin around to meet a set of gentle pair of eyes looking at me. Aby. It was Aby. Wearing clothes that I thought looked more like her style.

"Hey.." I said as I slowly turned my full attention towards her, brushing some of my hair behind my ear.

"I just came to check on you before you family gets here." She said walking over to me slowly.

That's right. I remember Luke telling me that my dad and brother were on their way and they were about a hour out. I wonder how my dad would take my purple hair.

I smiled. "What about your family?" I asked.

Aby just smiled. "Their being called right now. How's your head?" She asked.

"Eh, could be better. How is everyone else?" I asked uncrossing my arms.

"Doing fine, Heath is hanging around his buddy, Nate I think is name is? The boy woke up just a few hours ago and all."

I just smiled, everything felt like it was going back to normal, but I still felt something was wrong still. Like none of my life would ever be the same, none of it. I was taken from my thought when someone yelled my name and I turned around to meet tears of my father who came rushing towards me, taking me into a hug. He run his fingers through my hair as he hugged me.

"Oh, sweetie." He said as he let go and placed his hands on my shoulders and looked over me, his eyes landing on my hair.

"I don't care about that, I'm just happy my girl is alive." He said smiling and I smiled back, glancing over his shoulder to see my brother standing my Agent Charles Wolfe who was smiling.

"Agent Wolfe, no words and explain how thankful I am that you found my daughter." My dad said as he turned his attention towards Agent Wolfe who just chuckled.

"Mr. Oaks, I don't need any thank you. I'm just as happy as you are to get your daughter back along with the boy who took her. I promise he's going to be behind bars for a long time."

They talked back and forth and I cleared my through, getting both of their attention. "Dad, Agent Wolfe, I want to ask both of you something." That got their attention. "I want to talk to Chip- I mean Ayden, alone." I said and when I looked at my dad's face, he was jaw struck.

"Sweet, you can't be serious, after what he just did to you?" He asked. Agent Wolfe just looked at me like I had really lost it.

"Please, I know both of you are thinking I'm mad but I just want to talk to him, see if he'll tell me anything. Please." I said locking eyes with Agent Wolfe who scratched his chin.

"Fine. I'll go check with the doctors." He left the room, leaving me with my dad who was still gaping.

"Dad-"

"Look sweetie, I know your under a lot of stress but talking to this boy? Is it really going to help?" He asked.

I just looked down. He was right, was it really going to help? Maybe, maybe it would get all of that stress of me, and maybe he would tell me why, why he did this. Unless he wanted to be mute. I looked back up to see Agent Wolfe step back into the room, a pained look on his face.

"They said yes."

I stood in front of Chip's room, watching as a officer locked his other wrist to the bed, checking to make sure he couldn't touch me anyway possible. I only had ten minutes before Chip would pass out on me. They had put a liquid in him to calm his body down and also so he wouldn't try to take out any nurses like last time. Chip's breathing was slow and I could tell he was fighting to stay awake, his eyes would close but then his body would move in a weird way and his eyes would be open again, but I was sure he know that he wasn't going to be able to fight it any longer. After the officer made sure he was locked tightly, he walked out of the room, handing Agent Wolfe the keys.

"Ten minutes." Agent Wolfe said to me as he stepped away from the door, letting me step in. I was stopped by someone grabbing my shoulder. I turned around to see it was Luke.

"You sure you want to go in there alone?" He asked for the tenth time.

I only nodded. "I'll be fine. It's not like he's magic." I said as I stepped into the room, closing the door behind me. The room had a cold feeling to it, and it didn't help that it was small.

I heard something clinking and I looked over to see it was Chip, pulling on the handcuff lightly. I walked over to the side of the bed and stood a little away from him. I could not even begin to tell you how horrible he looked. His black was a mess, he was letting a lot of sweat off and he looked too pale to even be alive.

"Why...did.....you.....come....?" Chip's voice came out as scrappy as he slowly moved his eyes to meet mine, not moving his head at all.

"I wanted to ask you a few questions." I said softly and Chip just let out a few laughs before he broke into a coughing fit, letting out a very painful moan as he tried to move a little.

"Chip, why did you try to get killed?" I asked and Chip closed his eyes slowly before opening them. He was slipping which meet I needed to hurry.

"Didn't think they would really shot...." He managed to get all of the words out, before he let out a painful groan.

"Chip-"

"How many......questions?" He mumbled.

"As many until you fall asleep." I growled back.

"Your hair needs to be red, you know?" He asked.

Yep, he was losing it.

"Chip-"

"Look Sky, I know..that what's his fac-e...is...mo-st likely...writing this down....s-o.." He stopped talking for a little before he picked it back up. "chose...your.....ques-tions....tha-t...a-r-e..good.." He said as his eyes slowly closed.

"Chip, why did you take me?" I finally asked.

Chip just smiled slowly as he slowly sank into sleep.

"Sometimes Oaks, people can be blind and not know that the enemy isn't the enemy." He said and with that, he was out cold, his body going limp as he was pulled into a force sleep.
