Chapter 26: A change of plans
I'm telling you right now, the words that Heath let out, it made me and Aby just look at him as he had let the tears fall, curses words falling left and right. It made Sean even raise a eyebrow. After a few minutes, Heath had blacked out no thanks to the pain, his head rolling to where his chin rested against his shoulder. Dried tears were left on his cheeks that I had to scrub off, along with the mud as Aby tried her best to sew up the wound, Sean not watching us for a little. I brushed Heath's hair from his forehead, scrubbing the dirt and sweat off, he looked like he had gone for a mud bath with some pigs. He made a soft noise, his head rolling to where it was now faced down. Aby was close to closing up the wound when someone yelled.
"What?! I don't even know any Lucy girl!" It was Chip and I quickly understood what he was yelling about. The man must of shown him the news report.
"You got to be kidding........." Chip's voice was louder and I returned to watching Aby as she quickly stitched up the last part, looking over at Sean.
"Could-um-please get me some bandages?" She asked.
He cracked a smile, one that most ladies would faint for. "Sure, what size?" he said walking over to her, his eyes looking at the stitching she had done. I had to hold back a laugh as Aby took a step away from him.
"Any would do." She said placing a hand on Heath's good shoulder.
Sean just rolled his eyes and walked past him, heading towards the kitchen to get some bandages to cover up Heath's wound.
~Chip's POV~
Chip sat in a chair, his hand placed over his face as he cursed at himself in his head. His face was all over the news now, which meet he needed to be careful on some parts. He was not the happiest person with the world at the moment.
"What am I suppose to do, I don't even know that girl, Lucy or whatever her name is." He said pushing back the chair and standing up, Alan looking at him as he did so. Chip pinched the tip of his nose, closing his eyes for a moment of silence to calm his body but Mr. Greenleaf interrupted it.
"Now this means that you can't go and meet up with the man I needed money from." He said and Chip cursed, out loud.
"You got to be kidding me." he mumbled, rubbing his forehead, why him out of everyone.
"What should I do then?" He said looking at Mr. Greenleaf.
"Nothing."
"Nothing?" Chip said going wide eyed.
"Yes, I already have a plan, we'll send Sean and-um, let's see- and Sky with him to meet up with the man." He said and Chip just bit his tongue.
"Are you mad? If Skyler is seen, Sean well be put in handcuffs faster than you blink and we'll be next!" He yelled. Mr. Greenleaf just kept quiet.
He chuckled. "I'm not mad, at least I don't think I am." He laughed itching the top of his head. "Anyways, Faith, please come in here." Mr. Greenleaf said and Chip turned to see a girl with a soft smile across her lips, her eyes shining.
"Yes, sir?" She asked and Chip looked at Mr. Greenleaf, confused.
"Faith, please tell Mr. Ayden here what you were telling me with what you can do with hair."
"Yes sir, I can dye hair." She said looking over at Chip who just glared at her.
"Ha, your funny Alan, but I'm not dying her hair, no way, nah." He said shaking his head and Mr. Greenleaf told Faith to leave.
"Chip, I'm a man who you are very lucky to be friends with. I take my games serious, not some puppy game with there is no teeth, a game that the teeth are sharp and make you bleed." He said sitting back in his chair, locking his hands together.
A smile then appeared. "I'll tell you what, if your little princess listens on what Sean tells her what to do, I well let two, only two of the other servants out and let them be in the house." He said and Chip just glared at him. "And that's suppose to help me how?" He asked making Mr. Greenleaf smile.
"Well, won't it make her listen to you more? I've seen a pinch of that little rebel that is ready to burst out and I'm telling you know, it's going to be soon." He said rising a eyebrow, extending a hand out.
"We got a deal?" He asked.
Chip looked at his hand, thinking on what he had said. It was true, Skyler was bit of a rebel. Letting out a sign, he shook his hand. "Deal."
~Skyler's POV~
"Oh no you aren't!" I yelled, Chip just narrowing his eyes at me. I was standing in the center of the room, glaring at Chip.
"You will not be touching my hair or changing it!" I said slamming the cup onto the table, it shattered but I ignored it.
"No, I won't be touching it, Faith well be." He said looking to the left and I saw Faith wave at me.
"No one is touching my hair." I hissed and Chip signed.
"We can do this the hard way, or the easy way. Which one?" He asked and I crossed my arms.
"You'll have to tie me down to change my hair."
"That can be arranged."
"Go eat row chicken." I hissed.
"Ouch, I didn't even do anything."
"Oh! you didn't do anything?" I said looking at him. He had pushed my last button.
Chip signed, running his hand through his hair. I had left Aby with Heath who was slowly starting to come back, he was still a little out of it. And Chip and approached me and told me what was going on, let's just say, I had to hold myself back from slapping him.
"What are you talking about?" He asked.
"Your such-such-" I looked around the room, closing my eyes, I shouted it.
"A dork!" I said and when I opened my eyes, I swear I saw something darken in his eyes.
"You're going to let Faith do your hair or I well do it and trust me, it won't be pretty." He growled and I looked way.
"Skyler, answer me." he said and I didn't.
He just growled. "Fine, Faith, you know what to do, Sky, don't do anything stupid." He said pointing a finger at me and I just ignored it, watching as he walked out of the room.
Faith walked over to me lightly, smiling. "Don't worry, he's just on the edge, that's all. Now, let's take a look at your lovely hair, take a seat." She said pointing at a chair.
I listened and sat down, watching her as she pulled out some stuff, and soon, she was standing in front of me, some of my hair in her hand. She then disappeared once again and came back, setting more stuff down on the tiny table.
"Ready?" She asked looking at me.
"Sure." I mumbled.
And as I said those words, she got to work.
"And here ya go!" Faith said after a few hours. She held a tiny mirror in front for me to see and I just gasped. My brown hair had been turned to into a type of blond and I couldn't believe it. Faith just smiled, waiting for me to say something.
"It's-um-great." I lied. I didn't like it, it brought my freckles out like they were a large cut across my face.
She just gave a weird smile before turning my attention towards the clothes on the table. "Chip said to put those on, and that if you don't, he'll be happy to help you." She said with a hint of nervous in her voice. I stood up and told her thank you and she quickly left, leaving me with staring at the clothes. I sighed. "Just go with it Skyler."
After I got dressed, I looked in the mirror at what Faith had left and I thought I was going to gag. I wasn't the biggest fan of skirts, and if I had to wear one with Sean, someone was not going to live. Chip was really asking for his funeral soon.
