"So, any luck finding the guys who did this to my niece?" Asked Anastasia as she had her arms around her 6-month old stomach which was growing healthily. "Nothing yet, ma'am. Don't worry, we're still looking into it." Said Armando as he looked at the ground. "It's ok, you just keep looking, there's bound to be something." She replied, hanging up the phone. "Anything, sis?" She gently shook her head. "No.. their still looking into it." Anastasia told Tatiana as she sighed. "I can't believe this.. all this month, nothing still?!" Tatiana ranted as she was very angry.
The blonde haired woman didn't blame her. If it was her own child, she would have done the same. That was then Anastasia did a sharp intake of breath as Tatiana looked up at her. "Are you okay, Ana?" Asked the second former grand duchess. "I'm fine, the baby just moved." Replied Anastasia as she caressed her stomach. The woman hummed slightly. They both knew that they were not in any danger, not while their wives were there. "I'm going for a walk in the garden, wish to join me, sister?" Tatiana stood up from her spot on the couch. "Sure." The two Russian women left the house and went to the garden.
"So.. how's married life treating you?"
"Oh! It's going pretty well."
"Good."
The two giggled as Anastasia stroked her stomach again. She hadn't been able to get married when she was once a grand duchess as she looked at the red rose bushes that were growing beautifully. Her wedding band glowed in the soft sunlight as she touched her stomach with her hand. "How's Marina?" She asked, her cornflowers meeting her sister's liquid silvers.
"She's recovering, luckily."
"Oh thank god.. if I wasn't pregnant, I would've killed whoever decided was a good idea to attack my cute and precious niece."
"I know. You would've done the same for Mary. You were always the protective one in the family, despite you being mischievous."
Anastasia giggled, remembering all the pranks she would pull on people with her wife's help. "Oh yes, those were so worth it and funny too! I miss them.. I miss Olga, mama and dad.. Alexi too. If only we have gotten out sooner.." she whispered underneath her breath in guilt. She lost so many people that she cared about, but she knew Mary would have come back to her in another life.. another time. Tatiana seemed to notice that Anastasia was upset about her death. "Sis, it's not your fault that all of us died that day. Plus.. it was probably fate." She said, firmly clasping Anastasia's hand in her own.
"I'm sorry.. for throwing a snowball with a rock inside at you."
"Your forgiven. Plus, we were young and you didn't know any better."
She smiled, feeling her child's heartbeat inside of her stomach. "Thank you.. I wasn't sure that you would forgive me.. especially after what I had done.." she said, her tears threatening to roll down her cheeks. After so many painful years, she relished her still-beating heart after years of pain and suffering she had gone through in her final moments. Tatiana was the same as she firmly held her hand and they continued walking. She heard the blonde giggle once more as the child growing inside of her body kicked. "This one is excited! It seems he can't wait to see his aunt and cousin~" she crooned at her belly.
"What are you going to name him?"
"I have a few choices.. would you like to hear them?"
"Yes!"
Anastasia smiled once more as she looked at her wedding band. "I was think either Henry after my favorite book character, Viktor or Edward." She said, her eyes glittering with happiness. Tatiana looked up in thought. "Damn, all of those are really good names." She told her, hearing a laugh escape the younger former grand duchess. "Thank you~!" She said, her eyes alight with mischief. The two women laughed softly as they walked back to the house. Even as children, all five of them had their charms because of their looks. That was probably the reason why suitors from different kingdoms wanted the girls' hands in marriage.
As they reached the back door, a bullet fired at the door greeted them. They must have screamed because suddenly their wives appeared out of nowhere and the both of them were not pleased to see the shooters. "Give us a few minutes to privately have a word with these guys, love." Anne said as they dragged the shooter off and the Russians went inside in the house. "What the hell was that?!?" Tatiana shrieked, her Russian accent slipping though as Anastasia was scared, stroking her stomach with worry, praying that Mary would be alright and safe.. just as she promised on their wedding day.
The door opened as Anastasia looked at the person in the doorframe. "Mary! Your alright!" She said, running towards the former pirate and embracing her happily. "I promised you, Ana. I did promise you that I wouldn't die again on our wedding day." She whispered into the blonde's head, closing her eyes and caressing the small of her back. "That you did.. Just so you know, I will not ask what you did to the shooters." She said, her eyes glittering with warmth and love in those cornflower eyes of hers.
Mary found herself entranced by the Russian beauty before her once more just as she was once alive before hers and Anastasia's deaths. She looked like a blonde haired, blue eyed angel with the voice of sweet chiming bells. "Mary?" Anastasia's voice called out, her blue eyes twinkling like stars in her confusion. "Hm?" She then looked down at her wife since she was a lot shorter since she wasn't wearing heels. "Why are you staring at me?" She asked. Mary smirked as she carefully lifted her up in her arms, being mindful of her 6-month pregnant stomach.
"Well, even though your with our child, you have gotten so beautiful.. as if you have stepped out of a poster.." she said as a light blush formed on Anastasia's face. Tatiana found it amusing as she looked out the window.
Even after many painful years, she and her sisters were reunited with their respective lovers and this time, they would never be separated.
