I sure have a lot of uncompleted drafts. I bet the drafts are just gonna increase over time. Who else here is just like me, increasing the drafts yet never stopping writing?

CHAPTER 1

Darkness. That's all I could see. I had to squint my eyes to see. Suddenly, I heard a voice.

"Tsk Tsk, kitten do you like your new home?" I looked up to see the source of the voice but it was impossible to see.

Suddenly I felt hot air near my ear and a hand grabbed my chin and forced me to face an outline of a face.

There was a hole in the wall which caused a little light to come and that showed the outline of a man behind him something shone, a doorknob which means there's a door, my only escape.

But there was this nagging voice in my head warning me not to go there, not to open the door.

As if sensing my view, the man said, "You wanna know what's behind the door kitten. But remember curiosity kills the cat." He goes to open the door and-

BEEP BEEP BEEP

BEEP BEEP BEEP

I opened my eyes to the darkness engulfing me and the only thing I can hear was the clock ticking and my ragged breathing.

I took a deep breath to calm myself. I looked at the clock and saw it was 4 AM. There was no way I was going back to sleep. With a sigh, I got up and went to the washroom. After doing my morning routine, I got dressed in a tracksuit and went jogging.

The dream kept repeating in my mind. I ran faster to divert my mind but to no use, as I know deep down that it was not a dream but memory. Out of breath, I sat on a bench and took out of my phone to check messages. There were a few messages. I opened Drake's.

"Where are you Andy? I have been standing outside the bakery for 10 mins now. Open the damn bakery."

Damn! I completely forgot we were supposed to re-decorate the bakery today. With that in mind, I started my way to the bakery. It took me a lot of time than I thought to reach the bakery.

As soon as he saw me, he started screaming and I was still 1 min walk away from the bakery. As soon as I reached there, the first thing I did was hit him on his head

"Stop screaming, jerk."

Why did I hire him again? Drake is my assistant in the bakery but kind of acts like the owner that is me and sometimes I don't stop him but sometimes he needs to be reminded. From time to time we change our bakery's theme, last time it was Alice in the wonderland, now we are thinking of Tokyo ghoul, it's an anime. So we planned to meet earlier for which I am completely late.

He was still glaring at me and rubbing his head while I unlocked the bakery. The walls were painted white, there were paint cans and a few boxes lying here and there.

"We have to open the bakery again you know so we should be done with packing and covering. When will the painters come or did you forget to call them like you forgot to come here."

Drake said scowling. He will never let me live with that one. So, I ignored whatever he said and replied to him while tying my hair in a bun.

"The painters will come tomorrow. They will be done with all the stuff in 5 days. So, I have closed the bakery for 7 days as it will take time for the paint to dry and for us to unpack everything."

He just nodded and started to pack whatever was left. After a few hours, we were done with all the packing and only a few boxes were left to be moved.

I looked at myself. I was covered in dirt and sweat but Drake wasn't any better. I know I would get dirty that's why I didn't shower yet.

"You go ahead and clean yourself. I will deal with the rest of the boxes. You stink."

I just sighed and went to the first floor of the bakery. When I bought this bakery the thing I loved the most was that there were extra rooms on the first floor. The first room was the storage where we keep the stuff left from our previous decoration like mad hatter's hat is added now. The second room was like any other room with a bed, TV, closet, and washroom. Sometimes we stay late for any reason, we use this room.

We have already stored a few of our clothes here. So, I picked random clothes and hopped in the shower. After getting dressed, I went downstairs to check the status and saw that Drake was sipping water and all the boxes had been moved.

"You should shower too. I am starving. We will go somewhere then."

I said gagging then clutching my stomach and making a babyface at him. In response to that, he just rolled his eyes and muttered 'drama queen' and went to bath.

While he was gone I messaged Mia, my best friend.

"What did you do to Drake this time??? He is acting like a jerk!!"

Her reply came almost instantly.

" I kinda may have said no to him. he wanted to go to the amusement park and I thought it's about time you meet Ian..... So I called him a kid and told him to stop acting like a child...Umm...well it looks like he took it seriously"

That explains everything but before I could reply back Drake came back. he looked at me then at my phone and then said "Don't you dare say anything...I am not mad at anyone and that anyone is right amusement park is for children. I should have known better and apparently the supposed anyone knows everything and meeting the boyfriend is so important."

Yeah, he is so not mad. "Kraken I just happen to know how to resolve this issue between you and that ANYBODY. How about we meet Ian at the amusement park."

He just looked at me and then out of nowhere he spoke shouting "Of course why did I not think that."

Before he could continue how he did not think of that I quickly messaged Mia

"Here's a solution how about we meet Ian at the amusement park and you are buying the tickets cause let's say I don't want to handle Kraken anymore."

"Why did I not think that? you are a genius Andy. As for the tickets don't worry I will buy them."

Why do I have these kinds of friends with that in my mind I said: " Kraken I am really hungry and since the war is over. Can we eat cause if this stretches more I will be forced to eat you."

In response to this, he just rolled his eyes and went out of the bakery.
