"I'm feeling a lot better about life actually," Zoey said with a smile on her face. "I don't feel so isolated anymore."
Dr Lisa smiled warmly, and wrote down something on the clipboard. "Why is that? Did you finally switch schools? Or, did you get any medication?"
The teen girl looked away shyly, and laughed a little bit. "Well, my mom did end up requesting a prescription from my doctor. So, the medicine helped for a little bit. But there's something I haven't told you. I have someone in my life who is very important to me. He actually helped me get help."
The therapist looked surprised. "Oh...how so? This wasn't your mother's idea?"
"No. He helped me tell my mom about my depression."
"Okay. Did you tell him about your depression, before he went and helped you get help, by going with you to talk to your mom?"
"No. He just knew."
"Had he ever been depressed before?"
Zoey thought for a bit before answering. "Yeah. He told me about when his parents divorced, and how he was really depressed during that period of his life."
Dr Lisa smiled again. "Well, I'm glad to hear you found somebody, who can relate."
"Thanks." Zoey smiled as well. "I'm glad I did too."
Dr Lisa then looked down at her watch. "Zoey we've been talking for almost an hour. Your session Is about finished. I'll let you out early today. All right with you?"
Zoey nodded. "Yeah. That'd be great, thanks."

Zoey walked out of the therapy building, and smiled brightly to herself. Man, she really did feel better about life. No doubt about it.
She just woke up one day, and decided to move forward and try to fight her depression. Maybe, it was after almost dying. She couldn't spend her whole life in a rut of despair. But she couldn't give herself all the credit, she knew that. He was a great help as well.
The thing was though, he was the last person she'd ever guess in helping her out as much as he did. When she woke up with him beside her on the bed in the hospital, that was very unexpected.
And when they shared their first kiss, she felt she had hung out with him before getting hit by a car. Also, she had burned a CD for him unknowingly. Maybe she had had a crush on him prior, even while dating Lawson.
Speaking of Lawson, she decided to break up with him. Besides, she was pretty sure he'd been involved in some hanky panky with Larissa. Did he take the break up well?
Let's just say he could've taken it a lot better.
Zoey reached her green van, and smiled at the guy who sat in the passengers seat. "Well, you beat me to it," she said to him. "You couldn't wait that long?"
He shrugged, and gave her a sly smile. "C'mon. Don't you want to go and meet up with Kate and Tucker at Laney's Cafe?"
She rolled her eyes playfully, and opened the car door. She got in and started the car.
Before putting the car in drive, she asked her boyfriend. "So, Isaac, you want to pick the CD?"
"No, I want you to. I picked the last CD,"
Zoey took out the Beastie Boys' CD, and put in the Corinne Bailey Rae CD. She kept on pressing the forward button in the CD player, until she settled on one song she liked.
🎶 Three little birds sat on my window...summer came like cinnamon... 🎶
And then Zoey and Isaac were off to meet their friends.
Somewhere, afar, Lawrie Odin stood holding a stopwatch, watching the couple drive off. He smiled at the fact that another life had been saved, and that with time, things had settled into the what was supposed to be.
Being Time wasn't easy. But he was friends with God's will, and he believed in that entirely.
Besides, a happy ending is something that should be looked at as an accomplishment every now and then.
That's all that mattered.
Lawrie walked away, satisfied.
