Dream A Little Of Me, I Beg Of You

Normal POV
Rafal couldn't. He couldn't help to just slump farther more into his chair. Running his hand across his face he sighed.

His eyes were drooping. His head was hurting and he was tired. But he just couldn't sleep. Each time his eyes closed and his vision was replaced by darkness images of her lying unconscious upstairs came ravaging back. It was like a bomb set by his mind to explode each time he decided to get rest. To let himself be human.

He couldn't help but feel like his love for her was the thing stopping him. If just he didn't mind if she was alive or dead. If he just didn't care about her at all. He just couldn't help but be guilty of trying to forget her. To not care for her for just a second or two. But he couldn't. Raising a hand he placed a knuckle beside his head and breathed out. He could something pounding inside it, his heartbeat. Which belonged to his heart.

His heart which was beating so fast it felt like it was thrashing around in his chest. Thumping and scratching against his rib cage, wanting to break free and rip through his chest and do only The Creator knows what. Maybe he knew to after all it was his heart. He imagined it was going to run through him, run upstairs and lay there to die in her soft warm hands. It all felt like sleeping was more of a torture than a luxury now. He thought of how she could've just squeezed and tore through it with her long emerald green manicured nails. How she should've just destroyed him. 'Then why didn't she?', he thought, angry once more. And perhaps he was hurt. 'She had the chance to didn't she? Didn't she want me dead?', he sulked. His body seemed to disagree as it seemed to invite sleep in just to stop him from thinking those thoughts any further. To stop him from being angry. To stop him from feeling her.

Jalett slipped from in between the branches expertly. She had long pushed the thoughts of the blood drop behind. She had shoved it deep, deep back there. 'I mean animals get hurt all the time right?,' she tried to reason with her mind as the thoughts resurfaced. She growled, the bloody thoughts were dominating her mind once again. She couldn't  focus, she was just so angry. She was confused and she was stressed out. Her emotions always seemed to rise over her, it always made her do such irrational and horrible things.

And just as the black monster of her swirling emotions rose over her heart. Her fingertips glowed its candescent silver and a rather loud snarl filled the forest. She knew that monster was enveloping her heart and her mind and her soul and her whole body. It was controlling her, it was driving her insane. It was making her the monster and that hurt.

It just reminded her that she failed. To keep the monster at bay. To hide it and to not hurt anyone. She had hurt almost everyone around her. She knew it wasn't going to be long before she would kill someone or something. Or hurt her sister. It frustrated her how she was so afraid of a mere possibility. The thoughts ricocheted around her mind, filling it up to the brim like water wanting to sink her. She was drowning.  She screamed as she slammed her fist against the closest tree, causing it to smash and splinter in two the sound resonated around the forest in a series of echoes, pained ones.

Looking back at the damage she had done, she nearly shuddered. The bark was broken and split right down the middle. Both sides of the cut were fizzling with silver and white fire and was puffing  out large swads of smoke, thick, deep, black and completely opaque. The trees surrounding, scarred with still flickering hot white burns. It was an almost horrific sight, if only it didn't reveal the passage towards the clearing. A relief.

'Jackpot,' she thought. Running towards the edge of the tree line she smiled. Then she stopped. At the familiar sight of the house. With its blinds all closed and the lights dead. Except this time it wasn't dead anymore. There was in fact two lights shining from behind the blinds. One from the master bedroom and one from the living room. The only two places she wished would never ever be inhabited once again. Well at least it was inhabited by the people she was searching for. But she doesn't know that.

There is a type of moment in life where you had woken up from sleep and yet your eyes aren't open. It doesn't necessarily bother some people but the feeling of restlessness and inability is able to drive someone up the wall. Well it did.

He could feel his fingers twitch as he wriggled slightly in the large chair. It has been quite long since he has ever truly slept, though it was restless it was still sleep. And for once he actually wanted to sleep.

Unfortunately something or someone doesn't agree with him. He jolted from sleep as  someone snapped their fingers in front of his face. His eyes snapped open as the possibility of it being Sophie popped into his mind. Only to be disappointed, he nearly jumped back as all that met his eyes was a cloaked figure with a hooded head, its glimmering silver eyes shining in from behind the shadows the hood was casting upon the figure's face. It said nothing as it leaned back up and stood straight in front of him once more.

It began to turn and walk away, walking in airy steps which seemed impossible to be done on the creaky wooden floorboards. Still saying nothing it began to climb up the stairs and Rafal scrambled to follow it.
