A Walk Around The Castle
Normal POV
Sophie wondered around the quiet castle as she rubbed her swollen abdomen and hummed. Her baggy black gown smoothed around her figure as she walked. Nearly all the students had been killed during the war but many remained. And now that evil has won they were terrified of her more than ever.
The night after they declared their victory and love was rather......passionate. Sophie winced a little as she felt a tiny kick. She's blaming Rafal for this. She hated this. Not being pregnant but being alone. At night especially. But Rafal was the master of all evil, he was a busy man and she knew that. But she really hoped he wasn't. As if on cue Rafal zoomed in from the closest window and Sophie felt herself smile. Rafal turned around to begin his walk to his office but stopped when Sophie landed a hand on his shoulder. He whirled around as he let out a scream. Sophie smirked and Rafal sighed and pulled her in by the waist. "I'm the scary one now," Sophie teased. Rafal chuckled and landed a soft kiss on her lips.
"Yes you are. Even I'm scared of you," Rafal retorted jokingly. Sophie giggled and rested her head on his chest. "Why are you awake?," Rafal asked. "Couldn't sleep," Sophie replied with a yawn. "Why?," Rafal pushed. "Too warm," Sophie mumbled. "Take off the covers then," Rafal shot back. "Tried. Still too warm," Sophie vollied. "Open the vents," Rafal suggested at his sleepy queen. "Still to warm," Sophie mumbled. She huddled slower into his black leather coat and let out a sigh as his hands began to rub her bare back from the slit in her dress. "Perfect," she muttered. Rafal chuckled as he realised she had been using the 'too warm' excuse to refer to his coldness.
Sure Rafal had been worried that his cold touch might do something to effect the baby but Sophie had insisted that it would be fine. I know what you're thinking. The master of evil caring about children. Has the world turn upside down? Rafal had ignored the other teachers comments on him becoming soft and instead just continued to shower his wife and future child in lavish presents and love. Who wouldn't?

It's been a year and Sophie still remembers. Now instead of cradling her stomach she was cradling her one year old son on his birthday. The 13th of April which happens to fall on a Friday every time. Rafal had laughed at the irony. Her son reminded her of him oh so very much. A thicket of soft silky white hair, pale almost pure white skin and soul searching blue eyes. He was gorgeous. Much too gorgeous to be a baby really. He would be a heartbreaker should he be an adolescent.
She looked down at her smiling son and began to mumble gibberish to him. The little boy, entranced by his mother's spiralling green eyes, stared wide eyed at her. Sophie frowned when the boy stopped laughing and continued to stare. She always had a feeling he didn't like her despite Rafal saying 'he was just focusing on your eyes, they're gorgeous so who wouldn't.' Ryker frowned when he noticed his mother's disappointment. He tried to copy her but little did he know he got it right the first time, it was his natural frown. 'His smile is his father's,' Sophie thought, smiling at the boy's antics.
She stopped in front of the same window and wondered whether it'll happen again. As if he had read her thoughts Rafal swopped in and smiled at the sight of his wife and son. "It's becoming a bit of a habit," Sophie said as he raised a perfectly arched brow. "I see that," Rafal chuckled. He walked towards her and looked down at his son. Giving the child a smile, he laughed as his son began twisting his face at ridiculous angles trying to copy like he had with Sophie's frown. And again had no clue his smile was right the first time. The same impish, snake like smile. Rafal laughed loudly, throwing his head back, closing his eyes. "Is that normal for a child?," Rafal asked, still laughing. "Not really. But he isn't normal," Sophie replied softly, cooing at her baby.
"Why is he still awake?," Rafal asked, taking his son in his own arms. Sophie crept into his side and placed her hands on his chest. "Perhaps he was too warm," Sophie smirked. Rafal groaned with an eye roll. "We're not gonna do this again are we?," Rafal asked rhetorically. "Doesn't have to be the same conversation," Sophie replied cheekily. Rafal planted a lasting kiss just like their first when she became ill and mumbled against her cherry and mint flavoured lips, "you win love." "I always do," Sophie replied.

"Ryker behave yourself," Sophie commanded sternly but regretted it when Ryker's face twisted with shame. "Sorry mummy," Ryker mumbled and let go of Sophie's hand. Sophie smiled and slipped his small hand right back into hers, where it belongs. "It's okay darling just be careful around your sister," Sophie soothed as she smoothed down his hair with her hand as much as she could without dropping her daughter, Vanessa.
Ryker's face lit up again as he bounded excitedly after his mother. Ecstatic to see his father again after having to live without him for a day. Rafal came through the same window and chuckled as Ryker launched onto his legs. Rafal bent down and smiled. "Hiya buddy," Rafal greeted him. Ryker hugged him in reply. Rafal winded his arms around him before looking up. "How's our little witch?," Rafal asked with a grin. "Hungry. Always hungry," Sophie sighed out but smiled nonetheless.
Rafal smiled wider as his eyes scanned those of his family. Ryker's electric blue ones, Sophie's deep green ones and cVanessa's identical ones. This is his family. And it's better than he could've ever imagined.
