27 - Paint the Town

Charlie had a hard time sleeping that night, and as soon as she woke up, she was eager to get home in order to talk to Jungkook. Raven had at least convinced her to eat something and take a deep breath before rushing out the door. She wished her luck as Charlie closed the apartment door behind her, slowly trudging home as she braced herself for the discussion she never would have imagined having to take place.

Walking into the Bangtan house, she heard muffled voices coming from the kitchen. She immediately wondered if Jungkook had been awake yet, knowing this was probably the best place to look. As soon as she crossed the threshold into the kitchen, her eyes roamed the room before landing on her best friend, who was sitting at the kitchen table eating. He glanced up and his eyes momentarily met hers before glancing back down at his cereal bowl.

"Hey! Did you have fun last night?" Taehyung asked, eyes quickly scanning Charlie's features before he poured himself a glass of orange juice.

"I did," she answered. Charlie let a small smile creep across her lips as Taehyung glanced up at her, smiling as well.

Jungkook couldn't fit the knot that was in his stomach as he assumed that Charlie had gone out with the girls and found someone to spend the night with. It never failed that when something upset his best friend, she often found the bed of another man to distract her...and he hated it.

"How is everyone?" Taehyung grabbed a bowl and started to make some breakfast for himself as Charlie leaned against the counter, trying not to stare at Jungkook.

"They're doing good. One of the girls went home last night and the other one will finally be reunited with her family today. Gigi is also doing really well," she shared. Charlie's eyes stayed on the counter as she thought about her conversation last night with Raven. I really have to talk to Jungkook soon.

"Morning Charlie!" Jimin's voice caused Charlie's head to jerk up as she gave him a small smile before greeting him. "How was movie night with the girls?" he asked as he poured himself a cup coffee, trying to navigate around Taehyung, who was now pouring some milk in his bowl.

Jungkook perked up before looking over at Charlie. So they didn't go out last night?

"It was good! You were right about Jade. She acts all tough, but she was hiding behind me the entire movie." Charlie giggled along with Jimin, who just shook his head.

Jimin and Taehyung started a small conversation while Charlie looked over at Jungkook, who was now finishing up his breakfast. She walked over to him, stopping on the other side of the table.

"Can we talk?" she asked quietly. He just nodded his head, picking up his bowl and dropping it in the sink as he followed Charlie out of the kitchen. Jimin and Taehyung watched the two friends intently, hoping they could finally resolve their issues.

Every step that Charlie took up the stairs made her feel heavier and heavier. She was getting nervous and she couldn't even pinpoint why. Maybe she was worried that Jungkook wouldn't accept her apology. Or maybe she felt as though he wouldn't want to be friends anymore.

She tried to push the thoughts that were constricting around her heart away as she dragged her feet to her room, hoping that everything would be resolved after their talk. After finally reaching her door, she opened it and let Jungkook enter first. Charlie closed the door behind her once she walked in and turned to see Jungkook already sitting on her bed, watching her every move.

"Ok," she breathed out, trying to maintain eye contact as Jungkook's intense gaze was locked onto her nervous one. "I... I'm sorry for what I did." She started to feel her heart race a little as she took a deep breath, trying to call down it's erratic beating. Why was this making her so nervous? "I should have let go when you tapped out and not held on for as long as I did." Charlie was truly sorry for hurting him like that. Her eyes met the ground, refusing to look at the man sitting on her bed as the guilt started to swirl amidst all the other emotions she had felt.

"That's what you're sorry about?" Jungkook asked, scoffing.

He had thought about it all night: what he would want to say to Charlie, what he would want to hear from her... He believed that he deserved an apology, and even wondered if he should offer one as well.

The talk with Hoseok yesterday rattled him a little as he honestly didn't know if he wanted to just stay friends with Charlie, but that was something he could worry about addressing later. He didn't even know if she felt the same way, and the thought of bringing it up terrified him since he didn't want to ruin their friendship.

He had told himself that he would let Charlie decide when she was ready to talk since he figured that she might still need some time, just like how he did. However, he was not expecting it to be right away this morning.

Charlie was surprised by his tone as she looked up at him, immediately noticing his irritation. "Umm... Yes?" Charlie furrowed her brows as she watched him stand up and start to pace around her room.

"You are unbelievable," Jungkook spat out as he glared at her. He couldn't deny the way his chest tightened, his face heating up as he felt the anger building up inside, threatening to claw its way out and inflict the same emotional pain that he felt, but he bit his tongue, refraining from saying anything more.

He just wished she would understand, yet she still seemed to think that this was about her stupid actions. Sure, he was fucking pissed that she almost killed him... but he was probably more disappointed in the words that she carelessly threw at him. She didn't even realize how much her words had hurt him, or the way they still echoed in his head, and how, each time they resonated, it felt like a stab to the chest. He may have let shit slide in the past, but he was tired of easing up on her and making excuses. This was different, and he was not going to allow it, not anymore.

"I am trying to apologize to you, why are you being such an asshole?" Charlie crossed her arms, the anger rising in her once more as her expression hardened, her defenses slowly building as she prepared herself for yet another confrontation.

"I told you to wait," Jungkook said, spitting out the words through clenched teeth.

"Oh my God, there was no time! How many times do we need to go over this?!" Charlie glared back at Jungkook. "I made a call because it needed to be made. You didn't see or hear what I did-"

"Exactly!" Jungkook exclaimed, trying to make a point, but Charlie was not comprehending it.

"Look, I know you weren't at your post yet, but I-" Charlie was ready to fight him on this one before he interrupted.

"Stop," Jungkook said, his stern voice matching his serious expression. "I think it's time you listen to me now," he seethed, causing Charlie to shut her mouth as she waited for him to continue.

"When you met me at the bar not too long ago, I had told you how useless I was feeling. It seems I only have one job here, and that's to make sure that you and Jimin and whoever else is in the field is kept safe. I need to keep eyes on everything and you, of all people, you took that away from me Charlie," he stated.

"I-" Charlie tried to talk but Jungkook put a hand up.

"I'm not done," he said. Charlie nervously bit her lip, trying to remain quiet before letting her friend continue.

"Not only did you take away the one job I had, but you also told me that you don't need me." Jungkook's voice started to shake a little as he finally peeled his eyes away from Charlie. "That shit hurt Charlie. I know you can take care of yourself, you've proved it many times." Jungkook briefly remembered how easily she had him pinned the other day before continuing. "But I have been by your side for years and I felt like you just threw that out the window," he admitted, lowering his gaze to the floor.

Charlie felt the lump in her throat grow bigger as she saw just how much she had hurt him, the guilt tearing her apart on the inside.

"I'm so sorry," Charlie said softly. "I didn't realize how much what I said had hurt you. I directed all my anger towards you, which you didn't deserve," she mumbled.

"No, I sure as hell didn't," he harshly replied. "I already told you how damn worried I am about losing you, but clearly that conversation didn't mean shit. You can't just be be fucking careless and irresponsible with this job! We plan things out in order to ensure everyone's safety, and when you stray from the plan, it puts everyone in danger."

She could see the way his chest was heaving, trying to maintain his composure, but clearly his resolve had crumbled as he went off on her, scolding her for her impulsive behavior. "I just didn't want them to get away," she mumbled, still trying to argue even though she knew it was futile. "I didn't mean to worry you, I really am sorry," she continued, taking a step towards him only to feel a slight tug in her chest when he stepped back.

She could see the clear irritation on his features, and this was the first time that she felt terrified of truly losing him. She could feel the distance between them growing further, and she knew that the only person to blame in all of this was herself. She had fucked up, and now, it may have cost her Jungkook's friendship.

She nodded before staring down at the floor, words failing her as a million thoughts ran through her head. "I understand. I just hope that one day, you will finally be able to forgive me for this," she whispered, her voice slightly wavering.

Jungkook noticed the dejected expression on her features and softened just a bit, releasing a heavy sigh before speaking up. "You have a heart of gold Charlie, but it could get you killed one of these days." When Charlie didn't say anything, he continued. "You are my best friend and always will be. I forgive you, I really do, but it still hurts. Just give me some time, please," Jungkook said.

Jungkook needed time to let the hurt subside, but he did forgive her. He understood why she had acted that way, but he couldn't ignore his own feelings. However, noticing the blank expression on her face pained him.

Hoseok's words replayed in his head about looking at Charlie as more than a friend, and for the first time, he started to accept the reality. He slowly took a step towards her and wrapped his arms around her shoulder, pulling her close. Charlie immediately put her arms around his waist, squeezing him tightly as she buried her face in his chest. Jungkook held her close, pressing his cheek to the side of her head.

He didn't want to let go, but he knew that he needed space to figure out what was going on in his head. Giving her one final squeeze, he finally pulled away and walked out of her room, trying to steady his breathing. He was frustrated that he couldn't figure out what he was feeling. Was he still upset about the fight... or was this something more?

Jungkook started walking towards his room when he saw Jin walk out of his own bedroom, dressed in business casual attire.

"What are you up to this early in the morning?" Jungkook asked.

"Need to work on some things at the casino," Jin replied as he headed towards the stairs.

"Can I come?" Jungkook quickly asked, stopping Jin in his tracks as the elder turned towards him with a curious look.

"Umm, sure? I'm just doing boring paperwork, but I wouldn't mind the company," he admitted.

"Sweet. Let me just change into something that I didn't sleep in. Give me 10 minutes, ok?" Jungkook didn't even wait for a response as he walked to his room to quickly change.

Charlie hadn't moved since Jungkook had left. She felt so empty without him near, and now the guilt was starting to consume her yet again as everything replayed in her head. She bit her lip as she pictured the hurt look on Jungkook's face, the pain that she had caused him. Even though he said he forgave her, a part of Charlie was worried that he wouldn't want to be as close as they had been. Things seemed to change and Charlie did not like it.

She covered her face and took a deep breath, keeping her tears at bay. Maybe some training would keep her mind off of all this.

Charlie quickly put on some comfortable clothes and headed down to the basement. Rather than going to the punching bag, she decided she would work on her knife skills. Opening the door to the gun/knife range, her eyes met the familiar back of her mentor. Hearing the door open, Namjoon turned around and smiled at her.

"Sorry, didn't know anyone was in here." Charlie went to turn to leave, but Namjoon stopped her.

"Come practice with me," he offered as he grabbed a couple more practice knives.

Charlie walked over to him and stared at the gleaming metal of the knives. The ones they typically practiced with were a little heavier so that the thrower could build arm muscles.

"Shall we play a little game?" Namjoon suggested, raising his eyebrows at her.

"Sure? What kind of game?" Charlie grabbed a handle of blades and walked over to the lane next to Namjoon.

"You know the game HORSE?" he asked, earning a nod from Charlie. "So, it's going to be like that, but with these." He held up a knife in his hand to emphasize his point. "You have to throw the knife in the same way your opponent does, and it has to land in the bullseye. You up for the challenge?" he teased.

Charlie squinted her eyes at him, trying her best to look intimidating. "You're on," she replied.

After about an hour of training and another hour of helping Namjoon clean up the basement, Charlie finally trudged upstairs, grabbing something quick to eat for lunch.

She could still feel the light coating of sweat on her brow and the slight tingle of the cleaner she had used on the sparring mat and punching bag on her hands. A shower would help cleanse her body... and maybe her racing mind.

Walking up the stairs to her room, she saw Taehyung come out of his, stopping when he saw her.

"You ok Charlie?" Taehyung asked when he saw her rubbing her arm.

"Oh yeah, just had some practice with Joon this morning," she replied. Charlie gave him a faint smile as she reached the final stair.

"Ahh, cool! Well, umm, if you're not too sore, maybe we can watch a movie. We haven't had a movie date in a while," Taehyung said nervously. "Besides, I was hoping we could watch this new one that I found."

Taehyung knew that Charlie was probably still upset from the fight with Jungkook and figured she could use a pick-me-up. His worry only got worse when he saw a hurt Jungkook leave the house late this morning with Jin. It didn't seem like their talk had gone very well.

"I would love that," Charlie said, giving him a small smile.

"Perfect! Go shower and I'll grab everything we will need." He started running towards the stairs, passing by a confused Charlie.

"Oh, you mean right now?" Charlie asked.

"No better time than the present! Plus, I'm bored," he exclaimed as he continued to walk downstairs while Charlie headed towards her room.

Charlie had barely stepped out of the shower, still trying to dry her hair when Taehyung had come bursting through her door, arms full with popcorn, candy, and drinks. Charlie chuckled at the sight and quickly walked over to him to take a couple items before he spilled everything onto the floor.

Placing everything on her bed, Taehyung had quickly ran back to his room, bringing back the laptop he used for all their movie nights and jumping on her bed before settling in next to her.

"Can we please actually get through this movie without you critiquing all the fight scenes?" Taehyung requested, glaring at Charlie with eyebrows raised. Charlie grabbed a handful of popcorn and shoved it all into her mouth.

"I'm not making any promises, I like realism," Charlie muttered through the mouthful of food. Taehyung chuckled and shook his head before pulling up the movie and pressing play.

Jungkook followed Jin into the House of Cards Casino and down a very familiar hallway. They reached Jin's office and when he opened the door, the younger man stood in the doorway and looked around the familiar room. The last time he was here, he was breaking in with Charlie. He chuckled at the memory and closed the door behind him.

Jin went straight for his desk, sitting down behind it while Jungkook continued to look around. There were small changes, but it was mostly the same.

"You still keep all your cash behind that cabinet?" Jungkook asked, pointing to the filing cabinet against the wall. Jin looked up from his computer and glared at him.

"No, Taehyung installed a fingerprint safe in my desk drawer after that night." Jin continued to look at Jungkook, watching him as the younger was observing all the small details of his office. "Is there a reason you wanted to come?" Jin asked as he looked back to his computer.

"Just needed to get out of the house for a bit," he said, finally taking a seat on the small couch that was against the wall. Jin hummed a response but knew the real reason behind why he was here. The two sat in silence for a while before Jungkook stood up and leaned against the other side of Jin's desk.

"What are you working on?" he asked. Jin peeled his eyes away from his computer and looked at Jungkook.

"Just boring business things," he replied, letting out a small sigh as he stared at the numbers in front of him.

"Like?' Jungkook pressed on, curiously peering over Jin's shoulder.

"Do you really want to know?" Jin raised his eyebrows at Jungkook, giving him a small smile while Jungkook nodded eagerly in response.

"Yeah, I really do. I actually thought about going into business when I was in school," Jungkook admitted and Jin smiled even wider.

"Well in that case, bring that chair over here and I will show you what I am working on." Jin moved his own chair over so that Jungkook could join right next to him. He went through some of the financial aspects of the casino and how they use it as a front for their underground work. Jin was surprised at how fast Jungkook was picking up on the small details and fully understanding how their business was run.

"I should see if Yoongi would be willing to make you my new intern," Jin said, earning a laugh from the younger. There was a brief pause before Jin spoke again. "Everything ok between you and Charlie?" He had been wanting to ask for a while now and finally had the courage to bring it up, hoping it wasn't too sore of a subject.

"I think so. We have just been kinda distant lately. Both of us have been really busy, and then there's the fight and..." Jungkook's mind wandered at the thought of Charlie and how much he should tell Jin. He refrained from saying anything else, letting out a deep sigh before choosing his words carefully. "Even though we live in the same house, I miss her. I know that doesn't make sense-"

"It actually makes a lot of sense," Jin interrupted, sitting back in his chair as he looked over at Jungkook, who hung his head and stared at his hands in his lap. "Hey, maybe the two of you should do something together. You know, something you used to do as friends," he suggested.

"Like breaking into a casino?" Jungkook said, slowly looking over at Jin with a teasing smile on his lips.

"No." Jin couldn't help but to chuckle. "Preferably something that won't get you into a lot of trouble," he said.

Jungkook nodded as various scenarios started to race through his mind before the perfect one came up. "Can we stop by the hardware store on the way home? I have an idea."

Jungkook was suddenly very excited for what he had planned for tonight. It was pretty late, but he needed the dark of night for a bit of cover. Walking into the house after Jin, he practically sprinted upstairs to his room, carrying a plastic bag from the hardware store. He grabbed an old backpack from the back of his closet and tossed the cans from the plastic bag into it. Quickly changing into all black attire, he then walked over to Charlie's room.

He knocked, and once he had her permission to enter, he took a deep breath before opening the door. For some reason, he hoped she wasn't mad at him for wanting some space.

"Hi Kook," Charlie said, placing the laptop that Taehyung left on the other side of her. Yoongi had come in about an hour ago wanting some help with a couple things, which resulted in Taehyung leaving his laptop so Charlie could watch a couple shows that he thought she might like.

Charlie looked over at her best friend, who was decked out in all black and carrying a backpack in his hand, but what drew her attention the most was the huge smile on his face.

"So... I've been thinking about it all day, and I think eight hours is enough," Jungkook said, his smile widening as he noticed her confused expression. "What do you say we go paint the town like we used to," he added, pulling out a can of spray paint from the bag for her to see. Charlie had the biggest smile on her face as she jumped off her bed and headed towards her dresser.

"Meet me outside," Jungkook exclaimed before leaving her to get changed.

Charlie quickly found a pair of black leggings and a black t-shirt. She pulled her hair up into a tight ponytail and slipped on her sneakers, running down the stairs and out the back door. She found Jungkook standing on the pavement of the driveway...next to a motorcycle.

"A bike? Do you even know how to drive one of these?" Charlie stood there looking at the small, black, sports bike before her.

"Hoseok taught me and I've actually driven it around town quite a few times," he shared. Jungkook handed the backpack he had containing the various cans of spray paint to Charlie.

"How has everyone been hiding the fact that we have a motorcycle?" Charlie asked and Jungkook saw the small smile that appeared on her lips as she got closer to the bike. She had always wanted to drive one. It looked like it was so liberating to be on the road without being enclosed in metal.

"Probably because they were worried you would be driving it all the time," Jungkook replied, chuckling as he took his spot by the handlebars, grabbing his helmet and handing the extra one to Charlie. "I figured this would be an easier getaway vehicle too."

"Do you plan on getting in trouble tonight?" Charlie asked with a smirk as she slung the bag onto her back and grabbed the helmet.

"I don't, but trouble always seems to follow you." Jungkook gave her a wink and put on his helmet. As soon as it was on, Charlie smacked his head and then put her own on.

She was glad the tension and hurt from early seemed to disappear and they were back to their same old silly selves. Jungkook started the engine and she took her place behind her friend, placing her hands gently on his waist. He chuckled a little and then grabbed her hands, pulling them forward as he forced Charlie to rest against his back. "Hold on tight," he said before kicking up the stand and revving the engine, taking off down the driveway and towards town.

Charlie found herself holding Jungkook tighter when they first took off as she felt like she would fall off. She pressed her body into Jungkook's and could feel him slightly laugh at her. She felt that same spark from when his hand brushed against her own. There was also this comforting aura about him, always reassuring her that she was fine and that he wasn't going to let her fall.

Jungkook couldn't stop smiling, and he was glad that Charlie couldn't see him. She had wrapped her arms around him multiple times, whether she was giving him a hug or for warmth when they were living on the streets, but this felt different.

Even though he could feel her completely pressed against his back, for some reason, he wanted her closer. She must have been a little nervous as Jungkook felt her grip on him tighten. He laughed at the fact that one of the most fearless people he knew might actually be a little scared right now. He let go of one of the handlebars and touched her hand, hoping she would know that she was safe... and that she would always be safe with him. Her grip relaxed a bit and he moved his hand back to the handle bar.

Jungkook drove to one of the poorer parts of town to an old bridge that wasn't used anymore since a new highway was built. He parked the bike a little farther away behind a crumbling building. Charlie hopped off the bike and took off her helmet, looking around and recognizing the location.

"Kook this is Ganghan territory, we are not supposed to be here," she whispered. Charlie looked back nervously at her friend, who took both their helmets and hung them from the handlebars.

"Relax Char, it's right on the border. Besides, barely anyone patrols this area, I checked." He brushed past her and walked towards the underpart of the bridge. Charlie chuckled as she followed him, shaking her head as she kept up with him.

"I thought I was the wild one. There isn't room for two crazy people in this relationship." Jungkook stopped and turned back towards Charlie, looking at her in confusion as a small hint of a smile formed on his lips. "Friendship," she quickly corrected. "You know what I meant," she said and then walked forward, making sure to bump her shoulder against him as she passed.

Jungkook quickly caught up to her as they walked to the underside of the bridge, seeing the concrete riddled with graffiti. Charlie looked at the various words and pictures that were beginning to fade. Jungkook reached out and took the bag from her shoulders, setting it on the ground.

"Got an idea for what you want to add?" he questioned as he pulled out a couple of spray paint cans.

Charlie stared at the wall, biting her lower lip as she looked at the not so blank canvas before her. Jungkook couldn't help but smile at how cute his friend looked when she was concentrating. When he realized that he just thought that she was cute, he quickly shook the thoughts from his mind as he tried to focus on the task at hand.

"I think it needs more greenery," Charlie finally said as she picked up the colors she needed.

"Greenery? Like plants?" Jungkook asked.

"Yeah! Make it a real concrete jungle." Both friends laughed as they went about adding their own art pieces.

Charlie was trying her best to replicate the leaves and vines that were embedded on her arm. Expanding the vine, she made a continuous green line from what she already had created towards Jungkook and kept going. She giggled to herself as she kept her finger on the trigger of the can and sprayed a bright green line over the back of Jungkook's shirt. He immediately turned around and glared at her as she couldn't stop laughing. He tried to turn to look at the back of his shirt to see what she had done.

"Did you really just ruin my shirt?" He glared back at her as she crouched over, trying to catch her breath from laughing. Jungkook started smiling and Charlie looked at him, immediately recognizing that look. She let out a small squeal and started running with Jungkook right behind her.

Jungkook was quick to catch up to her as he picked her up and threw her over her shoulder, walking back towards their masterpieces. Charlie didn't even bother trying to get out of his grasp as she was laughing too much. Jungkook was just happy that they were able to finally get over the pain and awkwardness from earlier and laugh with each other again. He set her down with her back against the concrete wall.

"Pay back time," he said as he reached for a can of paint, which Charlie saw as an opportunity to try to run. Jungkook was quick though and pulled her back, pushing her against the wall once again as her hands came up to his chest, trying to push him away. Jungkook grabbed her hands and pressed them on either side of her head, pinning her between the concrete and himself.

"Not so fast," Jungkook said, smiling as he stared at the girl trapped between him and the wall.

Charlie stopped giggling and watched as Jungkook's smile disappeared as well. The two friends were breathing heavily from running around and laughing, but now, they could both feel the nerves kicking in from their close proximity. Charlie felt her heart pounding in her chest as Jungkook took a step closer. His gaze put knots in her stomach as she felt his grip on her wrists loosen.

Jungkook didn't know what he was doing, but he knew that he didn't want to move away from her at all. He still had her pinned by her wrists and gently let go. He felt her hands lower in his own as she interlaced their fingers, keeping him close to her.

Charlie glanced at Jungkook's lips and then immediately wondered why she had done that. Did she really want to kiss him right now? Did he want to kiss her?

Jungkook shuffled his feet forward just enough so that their noses almost touched, but not too close as to make Charlie uncomfortable. Damn... Hoseok was right.

He slowly pressed his forehead against Charlie's, not moving any closer. He didn't know how Charlie felt or if she saw him as more than a friend, so he didn't want to make any moves until he had confirmation from her. He felt how uneven her breath was and wondered if she could feel just how much he was truly shaking.

Charlie was pinned between the wall and Jungkook, but she was far from scared. She felt safe in Jungkook's presence, always had, and now, she wanted him to be closer. She wanted to feel his touch, but not in a friendly sort of way. When he got closer, pressing his forehead against hers, her breath became shaky. Jungkook stopped there and Charlie knew that he was waiting for her.

She knew that if something was going to happen between the two of them, she would need to make the first move... Jungkook would always let her make the first move. The fact that he respected her that much to stop himself from going any further made Charlie's heart swell. She gave his hands a light squeeze as she leaned forward, closing the small gap between them before finally pressing her lips against his.

The kiss was sweet and slow, the two friends barely moving. This moment between them was like nothing either had experienced before. This was more than just a kiss... it was a silent promise between them. A promise that they would never forget how much they meant to each other.

Jungkook felt Charlie start to let his hands go as she lowered hers and placed them on his waist, clutching onto the fabric of his shirt. At the same time, Jungkook moved his hands to either side of her face, gently holding her as he moved his lips a little faster against hers, but still sweet.

Jungkook's thumbs lightly brushed against the soft skin of her cheeks, partly not believing that this was happening. Charlie's hands moved from his waist to his lower back, keeping him close to her. He had no idea how far this was going to go, but he was definitely sure of one thing: this kiss did not feel like they were "just friends" anymore.

"HEY!" a gruff voice shouted.

Jungkook immediately pulled away and both him and Charlie turned to see a group of men with flashlights yelling after them as they started running in their direction.

"Shit," Jungkook muttered. Leaving the bag and cans of paint scattered on the ground, he grabbed Charlie's hand and took off towards the bike.

The group of men were close behind them as Jungkook grabbed both helmets, tossing Charlie hers and quickly putting on his as he climbed on and started the engine. Charlie quickly hopped on and grasped onto Jungkook's waist.

"Go!" she shouted and Jungkook took off, leaving the men in their dust.

The whole ride home was filled with nerves, but they both couldn't stop smiling as Charlie held on a little tighter than needed, lightly brushing her fingers against Jungkook's stomach. He sped up a little more, wanting to get home as soon as possible so they could talk about what just happened and figure out what to do next.

Once they reached home, Jungkook parked the bike and put their helmets away as both started laughing, knowing how lucky they were to have gotten away back there. When their eyes met, the tension returned as the memory of what happened right before they were almost caught played back in their minds. Charlie opened her mouth to say something just as the door to the house opened, revealing a displeased Jin.

"Seriously? Sneaking out like we're teenagers?" Jin said. When neither Jungkook nor Charlie answered, Jin's face hardened. "You both better hurry up and get your asses inside. An emergency meeting has been called. Raven is missing."

A/N: IT HAPPENED!!! but then of course it can't be all happy...
