10 - The Seductress
Taehyung felt a small headache forming. He grabbed his head as he let out a small whimper, hoping the pain would go away. He turned to the side and noticed that Jimin's bed was already made, indicating that his roommate was already up. His eyes quickly spotted the glass of water and aspirin on his side table. Thank you, Jimin.
He slowly got out of bed, stretching a bit before he thought about last night. He kept replaying the evening in his mind, particularly when Jimin revealed how Taehyung had slept with two of the girls from the club. He couldn't help but feel a lump in his throat as his mind immediately thought of Charlie. He really wanted to talk to her since he wanted to know what she thought of him now. He felt like he had to explain it to her, but he couldn't really understand why.
Maybe it was because he was scared of losing her friendship. The two of them had been so close, and now, he was worried that she wouldn't view him the same way anymore. He could see the pure spite she had in her eyes when she snapped at Jimin yesterday about his flirty advances, so what was she going to think about him now that she knew how he casually slept around? He felt a slight pressure on his chest at the thought of her being disgusted by him. But last night, it looked like her and Jimin were fine, so maybe there's hope?
He sighed heavily before finally dragging himself out of his room, noticing that her door was still closed. He hesitantly walked up before knocking, nervously scratching his head for a moment before he heard movement from behind the door.
He tried to hold back a smile as he looked down at the girl in front of him, her hair disheveled as her eyes were slightly squinted, looking up at him in confusion.
"Taehyung?" she called, her voice groggy. She cleared her throat before stepping aside, allowing him to come in. She noticed his tense stance as he stood in her room, nervously glancing around it. What the hell is up with him?
"How'd you sleep?" he asked, avoiding her gaze as he tried to create some small talk, wanting to buy himself some time.
"Uhh, fine I guess," she replied, walking over towards her bed before sitting down on the edge of it, staring up at him. "I don't mean to sound rude, but what are you doing here Tae?" she asked, rubbing her eyes slightly before looking up at him, immediately noticing the way that he seemed to be troubled by something.
"Oh, well, I actually wanted to get a chance to talk to you about last night," he mumbled, momentarily glancing at her to notice the way her eyebrows were furrowed before shifting his eyes to his feet.
"What about?" Charlie asked.
"Well, I feel like I should explain myself," he started while she remained confused. She didn't quite understand what he would need to explain until he spoke again. "I, well... I just wanted to let you know that I'm not some asshole who just sleeps around with women... I mean, I do sleep with women, but, like, it's just..." he was struggling to explain it and Charlie couldn't help but give him a small smile, hoping to ease his nerves a bit.
"It's what?" she asked, causing him to look up at her, noticing that she wasn't angry with him. It appeared as if she genuinely wanted to hear him out, and he hoped that she would understand where he was coming from since he didn't do this just for fun or to mess with women, he had his reasons, even if he felt like they weren't necessarily justifiable.
"Well, with this job and the risks that come with it, I wouldn't want to drag someone into this mess with me, so having something serious is out of the question," he started. "I still like having a physical connection with someone from time to time though, no strings attached, and I always make sure to make that clear to my partners. I know it might sound selfish, but it's a good distraction sometimes," he admitted, reaching for his bracelet as he slightly fiddled with it, focusing on the small accessory while he avoided her gaze yet again.
"That's not selfish at all. As long as the other person understands it's just physical, then I don't see what's wrong with it," she replied while a small smile formed on his face, his eyes meeting hers yet again. "Wait, is that why you wanted to talk?"
"Yeah," he shyly replied. "I was worried about what you would think of me. I felt like if you thought that Jimin was an ass for flirting, then you would probably think I'm worse for what I did," he confessed and Charlie couldn't help but smile at the fact that her friend was worried about her judgement of his character.
"Tae, the reason I felt that way about Jimin wasn't because I thought he slept around, although I did assume that, but it was because I was annoyed by his advances towards me. I didn't like that because I felt like he had other motives and only looked at me as some prize to win. You, on the other hand, never did that, so thanks for that," she told him. "I don't care who you sleep with, just make sure that she knows it's just physical," she added while he let out a sigh of relief.
"I swear, it's amazing how you always just seem to get it, you know?" he said, letting out a small laugh. "I just feel like you really understand me." He sat next to her on the bed, leaving some space between them as he felt his cheeks slightly flush as he thought about his next words. "You know, I, uhh, actually had a crush on you when you first got here," he confessed, causing Charlie's eyes to widen before she looked at him with a small smile.
"It's funny that you say that because I thought you were pretty cute, especially with that crazy blue hair of yours," she teased, glancing at his hair, which was still a vibrant blue with undertones of green.
An awkwardness settled between the two of them as they looked at each other curiously. Charlie felt a bit nervous as Taehyung glanced down at her lips.
"Can I... Is it okay if I try something? Just... don't punch me, okay?" he asked, moving himself closer towards her. When she didn't move away or hit him, he took a chance and gently cupped her face before leaning in, pressing his lips against her.
The kiss didn't last long as both of them quickly pulled away.
"Nope, too weird," Charlie said.
"Not happening, no," Taehyung said at the same time, momentarily glancing at her before they both burst into laughter, the weird tension dissipating between them.
"So, I have a question for you," Taehyung stated, watching as she glanced up at him, humming in response as she waited for him to continue. "Have you and Jungkook ever..?" Taehyung asked, raising his eyebrows slightly as he left the question open. He nervously maintained eye contact with Charlie, awaiting a punch for implying that something was going on between the two of them.
"How many times do we have to tell you guys? We're just friends," Charlie reiterated, letting her head fall back as she rolled her eyes. At this point, she was very annoyed with this question.
"No! I mean, like...have you guys ever done what we just did? Confirmed that you're only friends?" Charlie was ready to respond when she paused for a second, thinking about it and how he did have a point.
Jungkook and Charlie had never kissed or ever really came close to it. He didn't really think of her that way, and she kind of felt the same way about him. Sure, he complimented her yesterday on the sexy attire she wore and she noticed how good he looked in his outfit, but that didn't mean they were attracted to each other... It would be too weird. He was always her dorky friend who looked after her and she was his crazy friend who dragged him into trouble.
"Umm no, we haven't, and I don't need to kiss Jungkook in order to know that we are just friends," she affirmed, looking over at Taehyung, who smirked at her before teasingly moving his eyebrows up and down.
"Watch it nerd or I'll beat your ass," she playfully scolded, smacking his arm. He shouted at her, grabbing his arm as he rubbed the spot she hit, shrinking away from her. "So how long has it been since you've had a... distraction?" she asked, trying to change the subject.
Taehyung sighed as he leaned back on his elbows, staring up at the ceiling as he tried to recall the last time he brought a girl home. "I don't know, about 3 months ago? Since you and Jungkook arrived, I haven't really brought anyone home. Besides, I usually tend to go out with Jimin, but he's always busy with managing the club, so we only go out once a month, if that," he shared while Charlie hummed.
"Well, if you ever need a wingman... or, wingwoman, just let me know," she said, giving him a small smile as he grinned at her, the pressure that weighed heavily on his shoulders no longer there.
"Thanks Charlie," he said, grateful for her support and friendship.
~☾~
Charlie was sitting at the table eating some cereal, even though it was almost noon. Taehyung and Jimin were sitting beside her, eating and making small talk when Jungkook slowly trudged into the kitchen. His hair was sticking up in various directions and he was holding his head, hoping that it would help the pain go away.
"Morning sunshine!" Jimin shouted at him.
"Shhh," Jungkook said as he walked over to the table and sat down in one of the chairs, immediately putting his head on the table and closing his eyes.
"Didn't you take the meds I left on your bedside table?" she asked while he slowly lifted his head.
"I knew that was you," he mumbled, giving her a lopsided smile. "I took them, but I'm still waiting for them to kick in, so until then, can we keep our volume down?" he requested, glaring at Jimin while Jimin flashed him an amused grin.
Charlie got up and grabbed a cup of coffee and a banana, setting them in front of Jungkook as she rubbed his head, trying to get him to sit up.
"Thanks," he said as he peeled back the banana, eagerly taking a bite.
"Make sure to eat something else and then go shower, you still reek of alcohol." Charlie giggled as she made her way back to her seat to finish her cereal.
As the four of them sat finishing up their meal, they all jumped when they heard the front door open, loud voices immediately filling the house. Charlie noticed that Jimin had a huge smile on his face as he quickly pushed himself away from the table and practically ran towards the noise. Curious as to what was going on, Charlie got up and followed her eager friend.
Upon entering the living room, Charlie saw Raven, Cherry, and Jade greeting Jimin. They were holding several shopping bags as well as a couple of larger handbags. When Charlie made eye contact with Jade, the brunette squealed with excitement, making Charlie flinch at the volume of her voice.
"I am so excited to see you all dressed up!" she shouted as she ran up to Charlie, pulling her into a hug.
"Ummm, what?" Charlie asked as Jade pulled away from her giggling.
"What is going on?" Jungkook said, with eyes still half closed as he joined the chaos in the living room, holding onto his cup of coffee.
"Ahh, I remember you! You were that cute guy that Gigi was talking to!" Jade stepped back and looked Jungkook up and down, biting her lip. Charlie watched her expression as Jade checked out her best friend, and while she didn't feel jealous or anything, she definitely didn't like what she was witnessing.
"Was that her name?" Jungkook asked nervously as he scratched his head, trying to remember details from last night. Charlie couldn't help but laugh a little at her friend's lack of memory, or disinterest, in the girl.
"Focus Jade," Raven sternly reminded, watching as Jade innocently turned towards her, holding her hands up in surrender. The older woman turned back towards Charlie, who still looked confused by the surprise visit. Raven let out a sigh before handing Jimin some of the bags, asking him to take them to Charlie's room. "I take it Yoongi didn't tell you. We're here to help you get ready for your mission. He mentioned it to me last night after you left and said you might need reinforcement, so here we are," she said, gesturing towards the other two women who came with her. "We've got two days before the big day, so let's get started!"
When they entered Charlie's room, Jade and Cherry immediately started laying out the contents of the bag on her bed. Charlie was overwhelmed as they started pulling out various outfits, including numerous short dresses while she gawked at all the stuff they brought over. "Uhh, I hate to ruin all the fun, but couldn't I just wear what I wore at the club?" she suggested, hoping to wear something comfortable.
Raven let out a light laugh. "As cute as you looked in that get-up, we want to go for something more... mature," she commented, glancing back at the selection of clothing as she held up one of the shirts, a lacy, see-through black piece. Charlie scrunched up her nose, immediately shaking her head. "Okay, then, how about..." Raven carefully glanced at the shirts, a white one catching her eye. The color really complimented Charlie's skin tone, so she pulled it out, holding it up. "Try this one on, and here," she said, handing her a pair of black leather pants, "these too."
Charlie reluctantly took them and went to go change in her bathroom. The white top clung to her skin tightly, the material wove around her torso, leaving her stomach bare while the leather pants hugged her curves. She nervously stepped out, immediately bombarded with compliments as Cherry and Jade ushered her into the room.
"Damn, you look good honey!" Jade chimed in, immediately playing with Charlie's hair. "You know, I think we need to add some more bounce to your hair, make it a bit curlier," she suggested, playing with her hair while Cherry was going through one of the bags, searching for the perfect pair of heels to go with the outfit.
Jungkook, who was sitting in his room playing games on his phone, was curious when he heard the commotion down the hall. He really wanted to know what was going on in Charlie's room. He knew the girls were preparing her for the next mission, but why were they being so loud? He groaned before getting out of the bed, striding towards her room.
He peeked his head in and noticed Charlie sitting on the bed, wide-eyed as one of the girls was playing with her hair while another joined and held up a pair of high heels. He bit his lip, trying to keep himself from laughing.
Charlie, who felt exasperated, was looking around her room when she noticed the boy peeking behind the door frame. Kill me, she mouthed to him while he grinned, shaking his head before glancing at her outfit.
Looks good on you, he mouthed back while she rolled her eyes.
I hate you, she mouthed again, causing him to shake his head while she smiled at him. He tilted his head towards the end of the hall, letting her know he was going to go while she nodded, giving him a small smile before he returned to his room, shaking his head in amusement.
~☾~
Charlie sat at one of the barstools, leaning onto the counter and stirring the small black straw that sat in her glass of vodka and lemonade. She tried to look around the bar to take in her surroundings without being obvious, but it was difficult.
"I'm not seeing him," she whispered.
"Relax Blade, it's still a bit early," Yoongi said through the earpiece. Charlie tried to calm herself as she took a sip of her drink. She had to do some convincing so the guys would let her have just one drink, she really needed a little bit of liquid courage.
"Target incoming," Taehyung informed as Charlie slowly turned just enough to look through her peripheral.
"I see him," she whispered, turning back to the bar. She sat up straight and crossed her leg, trying to make herself look as appealing as possible. It wasn't long before someone stood at the bar next to her.
"Bourbon please, neat," the male voice told the bartender. Charlie could feel his eyes on her as she slowly tucked a strand of hair behind her ear, continuing to play with the straw. The drink was placed on the counter and the man gave thanks. "Expecting someone?" he asked.
Charlie turned her head his way and was happy to see it was her target.
"Me?" She asked, trying to play dumb, looking around to see if he was possibly talking to someone else. The target let out a small laugh and nodded.
"Yes, you," he replied, smiling as he came a little closer to her.
"Well, I was meeting someone, but they just texted me and canceled, so I figured I would at least enjoy a drink before going home," Charlie said, annoyed as she briefly picked up her phone from the bar and slammed it back down, putting on quite the show.
"Mind if I keep you company?" he asked.
"Not at all," Charlie said, gesturing to the chair next to her. Her target sat down and took a sip of his drink.
"Can't believe someone would cancel on a beautiful woman such as yourself." He smirked a little at her and Charlie knew she needed to step up her flirting game. She lightly touched his arm and started giggling.
"You are too kind," she replied, taking another sip before leaning in towards him. "Are you meeting anyone here?"
The man was definitely drawn in as he too got closer, gently laying a hand on Charlie's knee.
"I was, but they seem to be running late." His voice was slow and seductive, and when he noticed that Charlie didn't try to move her knee, his grip tightened a little more. Charlie wanted to punch him right in the face and break each and every one of his fingers that touched her knee, but instead, she smiled and placed her hand on top of his.
"What a shame," she replied, her voice lower as she spoke. She bit her lower lip and looked into his eyes, pulling him in deeper.
"Want to go somewhere a little more...comfortable?" he suggested.
"Lead the way," Charlie replied. Bingo!
She had him, but now came the difficult part: trying to get him to talk. There was a hotel across the street that already had a room registered under his name, so it wasn't a surprise when he led her to the elevator. Charlie was using all her mental strength to remain calm and stay strong. She reminded herself that Jungkook was not too far away and would be next to her in a heartbeat if she needed.
Once they reached the correct floor, he took her hand and led her down the hall to his room.
The room was small, but very elegant. Two champagne flutes with what appeared to be a very expensive bottle of champagne sat on the small table against the wall. Not many words were exchanged as he poured two glasses of champagne, handing one to her. Charlie noticed how her glass seemed to fizz a little more, and when he went to take a drink, she only let the liquid touch her lips.
"Mind if I freshen up a bit?" she asked. He shook his head and smiled as he gestured towards the small bathroom.
Charlie took her glass with her and set it on the counter. As instructed earlier by Jin, she dipped her finger in her glass and sure enough, her dark grey nail polish turned bright blue...he drugged her drink.
"It's drugged," she whispered and heard many of the guys swear through her earpiece.
"See how much you can find out Blade," Yoongi encouraged.
"On it Phantom," she responded. For some reason, Charlie started to get nervous. She closed her eyes and took a couple deep breaths before walking back out into the room.
"Now, where were we?" she said, smirking at the man before sauntering over towards him, sitting next to him on the bed.
"Why don't you tell me your name sweetheart," he suggested as his fingers brushed down from her bare shoulder to her elbow.
"Mia, and yours?" Charlie's heart started to race and she felt as if she was losing control as the seconds went by.
"Tony," he said. He's clearly using a fake name, but why? What was the point when he was trying to drug me?
"Do you always have a room ready in case your meeting is running late?" Charlie asked in almost a whisper.
The man smirked before replying. "I guess you never know who you might meet. Plus, my buddy owns this hotel, so I kinda have a permanent room." Tony moved his hand to the top of Charlie's clothed thigh, caressing her. Images flashed in Charlie's head and she became frightened, feeling her heart beating erratically against her chest. His fingers started to dig into her thigh before his hand moved up higher, making her very uncomfortable. She slowly stood up as not to raise suspicion, facing the wall.
Before she could turn back around to ask some more questions, she felt his hands on her hips as he pressed himself against her back. His fingers dug into her exposed skin and Charlie closed her eyes, trying to relax, but her focus was only on his unwanted touch and she couldn't do it anymore.
"How about we order some room service?" she asked, trying to keep her words steady as she used the code phrase they decided upon earlier. She felt his lips touch her neck and inside, she screamed. Charlie knew she could easily have this man bleeding on the floor, but her entire body froze in fear, just like it had done before. His lips continued to move up and down her neck while his fingers moved towards her exposed stomach, pulling her closer to him.
Thankfully, the door to the hotel room opened and the man backed away when he saw Jungkook, Jimin, and Hoseok appear.
"What the fuck?!" he shouted as Jimin threw a punch, quickly getting on top of the man before throwing hit after hit. Charlie immediately headed for the door and out of the room with Jungkook quickly following. She leaned against the wall of the hallway, clutching her chest.
"Hey, breathe with me Charlie. You're ok," Jungkook reassured as he grabbed onto her shoulders. Charlie closed her eyes tightly. She was having trouble catching her breath and it seemed like someone was crushing her windpipe. Her skin crawled as she continued to feel his touch. Jungkook put a hand on either side of her face and forced her to look at him. "He's not here Charlie. Look at me, please."
Charlie finally opened her eyes and saw her best friend in front of her. The fear started to subside as she took a couple deep breaths, matching what Jungkook was doing. She hadn't had an episode like this in so long, but his eyes were still just as comforting. When he noticed that she was starting to calm down, he pulled her close to him as her arms wrapped around his waist and head burrowed into his chest.
"He can't hurt you anymore," Jungkook whispered as he pressed his cheek against the side of her head and held her close.
Jimin walked out of the room to see where Charlie had gone to, worried about why she ran out of the room so quickly. He saw Jungkook trying to calm her down as she looked extremely upset and then watched as he pulled her close to him. Charlie was rarely upset and one of the strongest people Jimin had ever met, so seeing her now, so broken and weak, confused the hell out of him.
He didn't want to interrupt whatever was going on between the two friends, but when Jungkook looked his way, Jimin mouthed She ok? Jungkook nodded his head and gave him a small smile as he looked back at Charlie. Jimin walked back into the hotel room where he saw that Hoseok had managed to tie the guy up. Now, they needed to get this guy out of the hotel and back to their base without raising suspicion.
~☾~
The scene was all too familiar as Charlie leaned against the bar at Cliff Hangers, swirling the amber liquid in her glass and then taking a big drink. When everyone got back home, Jungkook didn't leave her side, trying to figure out if she was truly ok or not, and to be honest, Charlie didn't even know the answer to that herself. She felt guilty for leaving Jungkook with so many questions, but she needed to get out. She needed time to herself. He was reluctant to let her go off on her own, but she promised to text him and let him know where she was at all times.
She remembered the look that Yoongi gave her and she couldn't help but feel as if she had failed him. She told him she would do it and she chickened out, she got scared. She finished her drink and as soon as the empty glass hit the counter, Trixie was right there in front of her.
"Want another one?" she asked and Charlie nodded her head.
"Put it on my tab please, darling," a low voice said, coming from behind Charlie. The man leaned over the bar as he stood right next to her now. She slowly turned her head towards him and noticed how handsome he was. "I haven't been able to keep my eyes off you ever since you walked in here," he said and Charlie watched as his eyes trailed down her body to her legs and back up to meet her gaze.
Charlie scoffed and turned to look at Trixie who placed another glass down in front of her.
"I can pay for my own damn drink," Charlie said, refusing to meet the man's eyes. She noticed him shaking his head from the corner of her eye before walking away.
"What the hell Charlie, he was hot!" Trixie said as she continued to watch the man walk over to join the rest of his friends. Charlie picked up the glass and watched the drops slide from the side of the glass back down to meet the pool of amber.
"I'm not interested in a man putting his hands all over me and making me submit to him just for a night of fun." Charlie took a sip and hung her head low as she set the glass down.
Trixie leaned over the bar, getting a little closer to Charlie.
"Ya know, it doesn't necessarily have to be that way," she stated. Trixie let out a little laugh as Charlie raised her head and furrowed her brows. The bartender's eyes went wide and she gave her new friend a small smile. "Are you telling me that you have never been the dominant one in a relationship?" she inquired, raising an eyebrow. Trixie watched as Charlie became nervous and instantly felt terrible for poking fun at her. She reached over and touched her hand gently. "Do you see the guy over there in the corner with a blue shirt?" Trixie asked.
Charlie slowly turned and saw who she was referring to. The man in the blue shirt had a few friends around him who were being loud and trying to get him to drink more. The poor guy looked uncomfortable being there and looked like he just wanted to leave.
"I can see you're tense, so just try it. It's one night, one guy, and remember, you're in control," Trixie said, gauging Charlie's reaction.
"That doesn't sound bad, plus, he does look pretty cute," Charlie said with a sly smile.
"Great! Give me two minutes and he'll be over." Trixie quickly made up a drink and brought it over to the group of men. Charlie watched as she handed the drink to the cute guy and pointed back in her direction. Charlie gave her best smile as she held up her own drink towards him. The guy took it and smiled as he quickly turned to his friends, who were pushing him to go towards Charlie. He nervously got up from his seat and stumbled slightly over in her direction, clearly nervous about approaching her.
"Thanks for the drink," he said shyly as he sat down next to her. Charlie didn't feel like exchanging pleasantries as she was already itching to continue her night. She stood up and leaned into the man, giving him a flirty smile.
"Is your place nearby?" she asked. He quickly nodded his head before standing up while she followed him out of the club.
Raven curiously watched from a distance as she saw Charlie leave the club with some random guy. She approached Trixie, hoping to get more information since she saw her talking with the young girl earlier.
"Who's the guy Charlie left with?" she asked, watching as a smirk appeared on Trixie's face.
"Charlie's hook-up for the evening. She'll be thanking me in the morning," Trixie replied, giggling before going back to serving the customers sitting at the bar.
Raven's eyebrows furrowed as she headed towards the office, immediately pulling out her phone.
"Hey-"
"Charlie left with some random guy, and from what Trixie told me, it looks like she's going to be coming home late," Raven stated, immediately cutting Jimin off.
"Wait, really? Are you sure?" Jimin managed to get out, sort of shocked to hear this information as he tried to process everything. Her actions earlier in the evening sure as hell didn't seem to match what she was doing now.
"Yeah, Trixie set it up somehow," she mumbled. Raven was still worried about the girl, and the tone in Jimin's voice only made it worse since clearly he knew something. Wait, the mission! "Did something happen with the assignment?" she asked.
Jimin told her how Charlie was doing great and then all of sudden used their code phrase. He mentioned how when they got there, she bolted out of the room and was panicking. He didn't understand what was going on with her and was worried, but if she was out with another man...
"I guess we don't have to worry about it now?" he doubtfully suggested.
"I guess not, but just... let me know what happens once she's back home, okay?" Raven asked and Jimin promised he would let her know in the morning. Raven hung up and hung her head.

Charlie held her shoes in her hand as she slowly walked up to the back door of her new home. All the lights were off and she was thankful that everyone was sleeping. She quietly made her way through the kitchen and into the living room, but as soon as she reached the bottom of the stairs, a voice stopped her.
"Where the fuck have you been?"
Charlie sighed and turned around to see a very angry Hoseok standing with his arms crossed, his stern gaze fixed on her. Jungkook and Jimin were slowly sitting up from the couch as they heard his loud voice, rubbing their eyes before glancing at Charlie.
"I was out, you knew that," Charlie said, feeling very weird about being confronted like this.
"It's three in the goddamn morning Charlie!" he shouted at her.
"Will you be quiet? There's no reason to wake the whole house," Charlie whispered back to him.
Jimin walked next to Hoseok and put an arm around his shoulder, trying to calm him down. Jimin noticed how out of place Charlie's clothes were, the slightly disheveled hair and the smudged eyeliner. His call with Raven told him what was possibly going to happen, but Charlie's appearance confirmed it, and from what he could tell, it looked like she was... pleased. He made a mental note to call Raven in the morning and give her an update in order to ease both her worries and his.
"Give her a break Hobi, it's not like she had a curfew or anything," Jimin reasoned, looking over at Charlie as he tried to ease her clear frustration with his signature smile.
"I want to know too. You said you would text me," Jungkook mumbled. He had finally woken up enough to give Charlie a sad look. He was worried about her all night when she stopped texting him. He was even ready to go out and find her when Jimin stopped him.
"What does it matter? I'm home now so can we all go to bed?" Charlie tried to walk upstairs, but Hoseok was not finished.
"No, not until we get some answers," Hoseok insisted.
She huffed before turning around to face him. "Fine. I was at Cliff Hangers, met a guy there and went over to his place. Would you like me to go into further detail, or can I go now?" she asked, slightly irritated with the interrogation.
Both Hoseok and Jungkook stared at her with wide eyes, clearly not expecting that answer from Charlie while Jimin let out a sigh. "I think we should all go to sleep, it's late," he suggested, patting Hoseok before ushering him upstairs as Charlie and Jungkook followed.
Before they all went their separate ways, Jungkook grabbed Charlie's arm, holding her back as he waited for Hoseok and Jimin to go into their rooms before turning towards his best friend. "What the hell Char?"
"I'm good, I promise," she whispered. "I just needed the distraction."
He sighed, not thrilled with this new distraction of hers. He didn't want to argue with her about it, especially since he trusted her to know what she could and couldn't handle, so he tried to accept it, his doe eyes staring deeply into her. "Just... please make sure to be safe," he whispered while she nodded, giving him a small smile before giving him a hug.
"You know I always am," she replied while he let out a small scoff.
"Oh please, I'm the one who keeps you safe, remember?" he joked while she let out a light chuckle, playing along.
"Ahh, that's right, and I'm in charge of keeping you wild," she said, finally letting him go. "Night Kook," she whispered before heading towards her room, watching as her best friend also trudged over to his, giving her a final wave before disappearing into his room.
