I was bored, so I wrote this in third hour today
Chandrakala rested her head in Maralyn's lap, allowing the empress to gently stroke her head.
The fallen angel glanced up at her to see that she was looking off, a distant look in the depths of her gold and green eyes. With a soft sigh, Chandrakala sighed softly, looking back down and fiddling with the cloth of her lover's dress. Though they were together at this moment, they felt so apart. The times had been distant, not filled with the love and affection that once was there. Chandrakala knew it was her fault.
"I love you..." Chandrakala said the words softly, longing in her voice as she clutched Maralyn's dress. She wanted Maralyn to say the words back, with as much, or even more emotion behind them as Chandrakala had put in hers'.
Maralyn glanced down at her, a piercing look in her eyes. She then looked away. Her fingers ran through Chandrakala's soft, wavy black hair. "I love you too..." She replied in a soft whisper. "Though I hate that I love you, even though it's the most wonderful thing in my life..."
The word 'hate' caused Chandrakala to flinch before slightly pulling away. She didn't know how to reply to the comment, so she stayed quiet, looking away from Maralyn.
"It is not you... it's just love makes oneself so sensitive... So much more vulnerable and weak..."
Chandrakala could agree with Maralyn's words. Showing her emotions was not something that came natural to Chandrakala, and showing them never led to anything good. They seemed to cripple her sense of judgement, and that was never more apparent than the recent months. If she had never told Nathaniel how she felt, she wouldn't be here now. Both Maralyn and her would be happy, not hung up over secret affairs. And let's not talk about her break of loyalty... Something that clawed at her every moment she was awake.
"It is only karma that the woman that I love more than my own life longs to be with another man." Maralyn's eyes narrowed slightly. "I only spare him because I wish for your happiness. That is more important than my current feelings of betrayal."
"I'm so sorry." Chandrakala whispered, clutching Maralyn's dress even tighter as she lowered her head.
Maralyn tipped her head to the side, a sympathetic glimmer in her eyes. "Come here baby." She murmured, gently pulling Chandrakala up and onto her lap. Chandrakala leaned against her chest, glancing up at her occasionally.
"I want you to be happy, so if you don't wish to be with me, you do not have to. Don't feel pressured..."
"Maralyn I love you, and I do wish to be with you."
Maralyn looked down, tipping Chandrakala's chin up with one finger. "You are my moon and my stars, and I will do anything to see you truly happy." She leaned forward, placing a gentle kiss on her lips before pulling away. "If you want him, I will give him to you. I will get rid of all obstacles, including that wife of his. It doesn't have to look like murder."
"W-wait... No!" Chandrakala immediately snapped, pulling away. "Maralyn, he loves her. I can't hurt him like that..."
Maralyn raised an eyebrow before snorting, looking away. "He does not love that ditzy little girl, and she doesn't love him. He bought her, she's a pet, a fucking prize. You cannot love someone who buys you, taking you against your will. That's Stockholm syndrome. You're smart, Chandrakala, you know this."
Chandrakala sighed, knowing what she said was partially true. "Still... Even if he seems to care about her, I will respect that."
Maralyn sighed, leaning back, holding Chandrakala against her chest. "My love, I will do what makes you happy. As I said, nobody has to know..."
