Mansi POV

I stopped using code names at this point, you know who they are. This is the last chapter of Still Alive, so I hope you like it!

One more portal opened and Lia stepped through, cradling Sofia. She sauntered over to where the Vackers were staring at the beauty of Inlandia. Lia set Sofia down just for the little child to be tackle hugged by her joyful family. The elves clung to each other and Nour watched them, amusement set clearly on his dark skin, darker than Mansi's with pale blue eyes, black hair, cropped short close to his head. Lia tossed back her hood, undid her cowl, and let her cloak fall. Each Kryna was beautiful, but Lia outshone them all with sun-kissed skin, almond shaped eyes the color of chocolate with golden flecks that sparkled when she was happy or amused. Her waist-length hair looked like spun gold that shimmered in the sunlight.. She had full, lush pink lips with perfect white teeth. She was around 20 years old, and had a slim hourglass figure with a lot of muscle from training. Lia flashed Nour a perfect smirk and linked her arms with Mansi. The two best friends smiled at each other. "I take it that things went well and no one followed you?" Mansi nodded and said, "Yeah I was surprised about that part." Lia chuckled, "Linda took care of that." Linda was in charge of covering retreats. "Any injuries or deaths?" Mansi asked, clearly worried. Lia shook her head, "No deaths, just cuts and scrapes, a few broken bones, and that's it." Nour and Mansi visibly relaxed. Della raised her head from the elf pile, "We can't thank you enough -Sophie?!?!" Lia immediately tensed up at the mention of her old name. Mansi knew that she used to be friends with this family before she 'died' while 'sacrificing' herself to take down the Neverseen. All of her old friends thought she was dead. Lia preferred to keep it this way, so everyone could concentrate on their separate lives. All of the Vackers looked up at Lia after Della's outburst. Mansi took a half-step closer to the now pale young woman and protective tightened her hold on her friend. "It. . . it is you." Biana stammered. Lia offered a weak smile, "Surprise?" she said, her voice just a weak and soft as her trembling smile. Fitz stood up and took a step forward, causing Lia to take a step back. Mansi gently extracted herself from her friend, sending her a reassuring smile. Fitz walked quickly towards her before enfolding her in a bone-crushing bear hug. Lia clearly had not been expecting this and the look on her face sent a Mansi into a torrent of silent giggles. After a moment of hesitation she wrapped her arms around Fitz and buried her face in the crook of his neck. After another second, Biana joined the hug. Then Alden and Della. Even little Sofia joined in, clinging to their legs. They stayed like that until Nour cleared his throat and whisper-yelled to Mansi, "Well, this is awkward," to which Mansi slapped his arm and continued watching her best friend reunite with her old friends.

I know thats a crappy ending, don't judge. Anyway, it was super fun writing this book, so I hope you liked it!
