Chapter 30
Third person's pov
Now jungkook was in his room resting.
As Jungkook lay in his room, his body was still weak from the hospital stay, Minyoung sat by his side, holding his hand gently. She smiled warmly at him,
"You know, uncle, once you're feeling better, we'll have to go on more facials together," Minyoung said,
Jungkook managed a small smile, "Yeah, that sounds nice," he replied, his voice still weak from exhaustion.
Minyoung squeezed his hand gently, to reassure him. "And we can go shopping too! You can pick out whatever you want, and I'll treat you with my own money," she continued,
Jungkook chuckled softly at Minyoung's words to lift his mood, "Then I will have to get well soon," he said, looking at Minyoung with a smile.
"Do you remember that time we went to that new café downtown?" Minyoung asked,
Jungkook nodded, a smile playing at the corners of his lips. "Yeah, how could I forget? You spilled your drink all over yourself and the table," he said with a smile,
He didn't felt like smiling leave alone talking, but he was still trying because he knew that Minyoung was trying her best to make him feel better.
Minyoung laughed, shaking her head. "That was embarrassing," she admitted, her cheeks flushing with color. "But we had such a good time, didn't we?"
Jungkook nodded, "Yeah, we did," he agreed, his smile was fading with each passing second.
After a few minutes, Mrs. Jeon entered the room with Jungkook's medicines and then she gently placed them on the bedside table. "Here, Jungkook, it's time to take your medicines," she said softly,
Jungkook nodded, reaching out to take the medicines from his mother's hand. He swallowed them with a sip of water, a slight grimace crossing his face at the bitter taste.
After he finished taking his medicines, Mrs. Jeon turned to Minyoung and said, "Minyoung, could you please turn off the lights? Jungkook needs to rest."
Minyoung nodded and moved to switch off the lights. Mrs. Jeon then turned back to Jungkook, a concerned look on her face. "Are you feeling okay, sweetheart?" she asked softly.
Jungkook nodded and then Mrs. Jeon said, " Have a little nap and when you wake up, we will go for a little walk."
Jungkook hesitated for a moment before replying, "I'm not really sleepy, eomma."
Mrs. Jeon smiled gently, " Them would you like something to eat instead?" she said while massaging Jungkook's shoulder with one hand.
Jungkook shook his head. "No, eomma, I'm not hungry," he replied quietly.
Mrs. Jeon nodded again before speaking, "Alright, then try to get some rest, Jungkook. You need to conserve your energy,"
Jungkook sighed softly, "I'll try, eomma," he said.
With a smile, Mrs. Jeon leaned down to kiss his forehead. "That's my son. If you need anything, just call out, okay?" she said gently before leaving the room with Minyoung.
As Mrs. Jeon and Minyoung were descending down the stairs, they found Taehyung, Hye-joon, and Taemin already present in the living room. Mrs. Jeon exchanged a glance with Minyoung before approaching them.
"Minyoung, take Sunho to his room," Mrs. Jeon said softly, gesturing to her youngest granchild. Minyoung nodded and took Sunho upstairs.
Mrs. Jeon then turned her attention to the rest of the family gathered in the living room. Yoongi's voice cut through the air as he addressed Taehyung, "Can't you see that he just got discharged? He needs rest and seeing your face he can never rest in peace."
Taehyung took a deep breath, "Hyung, can we—" he started, but Yoongi interrupted him instantly.
"Are you deaf ?" Yoongi snapped, his frustration was crystal clear. "I already told you many times to not call me hyung."
Taehyung swallowed hard, his expression pained. "Okay, Yoongi, can't I have a talk with Jungkook?" He said.
Yoongi's gaze hardened as he shook his head. "Absolutely not," he said firmly.
Taehyung's brows furrowed in frustration. "But if we talk, we can sort things out,"
"I don't want you both to sort things out," Yoongi said in a bitter tone, his eyes were turning red, "I want you both to have a divorce."
Taehyung's eyes widened in disbelief at Yoongi's blunt statement. "And who are you to tell me that I should have a divorce with my husband?" he shot back, his tone filled with anger.
"I'm his elder brother," Yoongi replied coldly,
Taehyung's jaw clenched as he struggled to contain his emotions. "But still, you don't have the right to tell him what to do, especially when he's an adult," he argued back.
"I don't need your opinion and get out of my house" Yoongi replied back.
Taehyung stood his ground, "I will have a talk with Jungkook first," he insisted,
Yoongi's frustration reached its peak as he grabbed Taehyung by the collar, his grip tight. "Get out!" he repeated, his tone harsh.
Just as Yoongi was about to push Taehyung towards the door, a voice interrupted from behind. Jungkook stood at the staircase,
"Fine, let's have a talk," Jungkook said, his voice calm yet harsh.
Taehyung adjusted his collar and made his way towards Jungkook. "You shouldn't have gotten up," he murmured softly, looking at him.
Jungkook's eyes narrowed slightly as he regarded Taehyung. "Oh please, stop with these fake concerns," he said, "Don't you get tired of pretending?
Taehyung opened his mouth to respond, but Jungkook cut him off before he could speak. "Keep these lame excuses to yourself and follow me," Jungkook said and he started walking towards his room.
Taehyung sighed softly and without another word, he started following Jungkook.
Soon they reached the room, Taehyung sat down beside Jungkook on the bed. He looked at Jungkook with tears in his eyes and said, 'Jungkook, I'm sorry.'
But Jungkook didn't want to hear it. He interrupted him and said, "If that's what you're here for, then you can gladly leave. Because I am not in the mood for these empty apologies."
Taehyung took a deep breath and said, 'Jungkook, I am truly sorry. I k-know I did hurt you, and I regret it every day.'
Jungkook couldn't help but let out a bitter laugh. 'Would you have felt guilty if I didn't speak up that day? If I didn't have leukemia, would you have been guilty?' he said, his voice laced with sarcasm.
'Of course, I would have,' Taehyung said. 'I never wanted to hurt you, Jungkook....... I still love you alot.'
Jungkook shook his head. "All you do is lie, lie, and lie. I can't even trust your words anymore, not even a single word that comes out from this mouth of yours."
Taehyung reached out to hold Jungkook's hand, but Jungkook pulled away. 'Let's get this straight. Let's have a divorce,' Jungkook said, his voice firm.
Taehyung was taken aback. 'Jungkook, what are you saying?'
'I'm saying that I don't want to spend my time with someone who doesn't love, value or respect me. And it's clear that you don't love me anymore,' Jungkook said, his tone was cold as ice.
Taehyung looked into Jungkook's eyes and said, 'Jungkook, I sti-ill love you a lot. More than anythin-ng.'
Jungkook couldn't see any love in Taehyung's words or actions. All he saw was guilt and not actual affection. " Then why can't I see your love in your words or your actions? All I see is a selfish person who only cares about his own feelings," Jungkook said,
Tears were streaming down Taehyung's cheeks as he said, "Jungkook, listen to me."
But Jungkook didn't want to listen anymore. 'I don't want to, nor do I have to. Let's get divorced. I don't want to force you or myself to be in an unwanted relationship. And you know what? It's all my fault. If I didn't let you, Hye-joon, and Taemin disrespect me from the beginning, maybe things would have been different.'
Taehyung was about to reach out to hold his hand again but before he could, Jungkook pushed him with all his might, making him fall off the bed. 'Just get out,' Jungkook shouted. 'I don't want to talk anymore.'
Soon sound of someone running towards Jungkook's room was heard, and Taehyung knew it was Yoongi.
Yoongi burst into the room, his eyes wide with concern. He immediately grabbed Taehyung by his collar and shouted, 'Were you forcing him to speak, huh?' Taehyung was taken aback by the sudden accusation, and he could feel the heat rising in his cheeks.
Jungkook's hair were disheveled and his face red with anger. He looked directly at Yoongi and said, 'Just get out, everyone. I need to rest.' With that, he pushed everyone out of the room and locked the door behind him.
Yoongi grabbed Taehyung's collar even tighter and shouted, "Tell me you bastard, what did you say to him? Tell me each and every single thing which you both talked about." Taehyung tried to push Yoongi away, but the shorter man was surprisingly more stronger than him.
"I won't!' Taehyung shouted, finally losing his patience. 'Ever heard of privacy?"
This seemed to only infuriate Yoongi more, and his face turned a bright shade of red. "Just freaking tell me!" he shouted, his voice loud enough to make the walls shake.
Taehyung had enough of Yoongi's words and grabbed him by the shoulders. " Are you deaf? Didn't I already said that I won't tell," he shouted back.
The two men stood there for a moment, glaring at each other,
Then Yoongi yelled, "Jungkook you are going to be a widow soon!" Without thinking, he started punching Taehyung, who in return, also started pinching him with full force.
It was a chaotic sight. Mr. Jeon, Hye-joon, Minyoung, and Jimin, were trying their best to pull the two apart. But it seemed like nothing could calm them down.
After 10 minutes of fierce fighting, Mr. Jeon finally managed to pull them apart and save them from killing eachother.
Now Jimin was cleaning Yoongi's wounds and Hye-joon was cleaning Taehyung's wounds.
"Oops, did that hurt?" Jimin asked innocently, pressing a little harder on Yoongi's wound.
Yoongi winced and hissed through his teeth. "What was that for?" he grumbled, shooting Jimin a pointed glare.
Jimin replied with a hiss and shaking his head, "Just creating this drama, you know?"
Meanwhile, across the room, Taehyung winced occasionally as Hye-joon applied medicine to his wounds.
" You should have atleast thought of your age appa before fighting with uncle, you know at this age if you break your bones it will take more time to heal," Hye-joon said, his eyes were focused on the bruises.
" I am not even that old and most importantly I am younger than that 5 feet monkey," Taehyung muttered.
After the wounds had been cleaned, Mr jeon called Taehyung and Yoongi to his room.
He was sitting in his chair, as listened to Taehyung and Yoongi's arguments with a furrowed brow. "This fighting needs to stop," he said, addressing both Taehyung and Yoongi.
Taehyung shot a glance at Yoongi, "He attacked me first," he said, gesturing towards Yoongi.
Yoongi crossed his arms, "Me? It's him who started this whole mess," he said, pointing accusingly at Taehyung.
Mr. Jeon sighed heavily, rubbing his temples in exasperation. "I don't care who started it. What matters is that it ends here and now," he stated while giving them a glare.
" But- " Taehyung started but Mr. Jeon interrupted him,
" Shut up! I don't want to hear any word from both of you..... Yoongi you are 50 years old and Taehyung you are 47, do you both still have no sense?" Mr. Jeon said banging his hand on the table.
" Did you even think of what will your young children think of you when you both start to fight everywhere and today even physical, can't you both understand that by doing this you are only making things harder for Jungkook."
" Your shoutings could be heard even from outside, what impression were you both trying to give the world about his house huh?" He shouted as he stood up angrily and made his way out of the room.
