Chapter 15

Third person's pov

As Taehyung pushed Seojoon's hand away, the tense atmosphere was suddenly interrupted by the arrival of the principal, summoned by someone. The principal's gaze swept over the scene, taking in Haesoo's injured face and the group's disheveled appearance. Without delay, he instructed them to accompany him to his office.

In the principal's office, Jungkook and Taehyung were asked to take a seat while the others stood before the principal's desk.

" Mr and Mrs kim, please take a seat."

The principal addressed them sternly, directing his first question to Jungkook and Taehyung. "What happened, Mr. and Mrs. Kim?"

Before Jungkook could respond, Yuna interjected, her voice tinged with deceit. "They suddenly came and started beating us," she claimed, attempting to shift the blame.

The principal silenced her with a stern look before turning his attention back to Jungkook and Taehyung. Jungkook took a deep breath, "They were bullying our son, Taemin," he began, his voice steady but firm.

As Jungkook recounted the harassment Taemin had endured, the principal's expression grew increasingly grave. He listened intently,

Once Jungkook finished speaking, the principal addressed the group, "This behavior is unacceptable," he admonished, his words carrying weight. "Bullying will not be tolerated in this collage."

Turning to Haesoo, Seojoon, Jihyun, and Yuna, the principal delivered a stern reprimand. "You will be punished accordingly for your actions, get out for now." he said.

As the group filed out of the principal's office, the principal turned his attention back to Jungkook and Taehyung. "Mrs. Kim, you could have brought this matter to our attention without resorting to violence," he admonished, his tone slightly softer.

Jungkook's frustration bubbled to the surface as he continued, " If you had taken action when this all started then wouldn't have escalated to this point. Taemin told me how they insulted him in the corridor, where all the students—and perhaps even teachers—could see, but did anyone do anything? No, they turned a blind eye to it."

"I apologize if our response has been inadequate," the principal said, his tone contrite.

"Bullying is a serious issue, and we take all reports of harassment very seriously. I assure you that I will personally look into this matter and take appropriate disciplinary action."

Jungkook and Taehyung exchanged a glance, a sense of relief washing over them at the principal's reassurance.

Jungkook cleared his throat, his gaze shifting to the principal. "Before we leave, we'd like to apologize as well," he said, his tone earnest. "We understand that our actions may have been perceived as aggressive, and for that, we're sorry. "

Taehyung nodded in agreement,

The principal regarded them with a nod, acknowledging their apology. "Thank you for your honesty and understanding," he said, his tone appreciative.

Jungkook and Taehyung shared a small smile with the principal before leaving the office with Taemin.

In the car........

As Taemin sat in the backseat of the car, his head bowed low, sensing Taemin's despondency, Taehyung turned to him and gently suggested, "How about we go get some ice cream, Taemin?"

Taemin mustered a feeble "Hmm" in response, barely audible. Taehyung repeated his suggestion more emphatically, hoping to lift Taemin's mood. "Let's go," he said, his tone encouraging.

Taemin forced a smile,"Okay, let's go," he agreed, though his voice lacked its usual enthusiasm.

As they made their way to the ice cream parlor, Taemin's facade of composure began to crumble. Taehyung could see the tears welling up in his son's eyes, and his heart ached at the sight.

Without a word, Taehyung stopped the car and turned to Jungkook, signaling him to go backwards,

Jungkook gave Taehyung a nod and then they both got out of the car and went to the backseat.

Taehyung pulled Taemin into his arms without a word.

Feeling the warmth of his father's embrace, Taemin couldn't hold back his tears any longer. They streamed down his cheeks, his shoulders shaking with the weight of his emotions. Taehyung started patting his head slowly,

Jungkook, sitting beside them, placed a comforting hand on Taemin's back,

As Taemin's tears flowed freely, Taehyung and Jungkook instinctively wrapped him in their arms, just as they had when he was a baby.

"Shh, it's okay, Taemin," Taehyung murmured softly, "We're here for you, always."

Jungkook planted a tender kiss on the top of Taemin's head, his lips brushing against his son's soft hair. "You're safe with us, Taemin," he whispered, his voice filled with love and reassurance.

Taemin buried his face in Taehyung's chest, his tears dampening the fabric of his father's shirt.

Taemin's sobs gradually subsided, replaced by quiet sniffles as he clung to his father, finding solace in his presence.

After some time, Taehyung gently pulled away from the hug, his hands lingering on Taemin's cheeks as he cupped his face tenderly. He pressed a series of soft kisses to Taemin's tear-stained cheeks and forehead, his own eyes reflecting the love and compassion he felt for his son.

"Don't cry now, Taemin," Taehyung whispered, his voice gentle yet firm. "Otherwise, I'll start crying too, and we'll have a whole river in here."

Taemin managed a weak smile at Taehyung's attempt to lighten the mood, he nodded, his eyes still glistening with unshed tears, but the weight on his shoulders felt a little lighter.

Jungkook reached out, brushing away the remaining tears from Taemin's cheeks with his thumb, "You're so strong, Taemin," he murmured, "We're proud of you, always."

Taemin's smile grew a bit wider at Jungkook's words,

Then they went to eat ice cream.

After an hour.........

As they arrived home, Taemin was fast asleep in Jungkook's arms, his soft breaths steady and rhythmic. Taehyung carried him inside with careful steps, mindful not to disturb his peaceful slumber.

Jungkook watched them, a soft smile playing on his lips at the sight.

Once inside, Taehyung gently laid Taemin down on his bed, tucking him in with a gentle touch. Jungkook approached quietly, his expression filled with warmth as he watched his son sleep soundly.

After ensuring Taemin was comfortable, Taehyung joined Jungkook in the living room, where Jungkook had just received a text message. His brow furrowed slightly as he read the message from his doctor, informing him about an upcoming check-up and discussion about further treatment.

Jungkook sighed heavily and then he typed out a response, confirming his appointment for tomorrow then set his phone aside and rubbed his temples wearily.

" Are you okay ?" Taehyung asked as he noticed Jungkook's expressions.

Jungkook turned his head to Taehyung and gave him a little nod.

After sometime Taehyung noticed that it was past hospital's off time and hye-joon still haven't returned,

As the evening wore on, Jungkook and Taehyung grew increasingly worried about Hye-joon's whereabouts. They exchanged concerned glances, their thoughts consumed by the possibility of something going wrong.

" Aish this girl, why hasn't she still returned ?" Jungkook muttered to himself while glancing over the clock.

Just as Taehyung reached for his phone to call her, the doorbell rang, prompting Jungkook to hurry to the door. Relief flooded through him as he saw Hye-joon standing there, albeit a bit flustered.

"Hye-joon, where did you go? We were so worried," Jungkook said, his voice tinged with concern.

Hye-joon offered a small smile, holding up a cake as an explanation. "I got caught in traffic and then I thought I'd pick up a cake for Taemin," she explained, gesturing to the dessert in her hands.

Taehyung stepped forward, his expression softening. "But you should have called us, baby. We were really worried," he said gently, pulling her into a hug.

Hye-joon nodded, "I'm sorry, appa," she murmured, returning the embrace before making her way to the kitchen to set down the cake.

Then Hye-joon made her way towards her room.

In the room, Hye-joon sank onto the edge of her bed, her thoughts swirling, "I messed up so bad," she whispered to herself, her voice heavy with self-reproach.

Feeling the throbbing ache in her temples intensify, Hye-joon reached for the bottle of painkillers on her bedside table. With a sigh, she popped a couple of pills into her hand and swallowed them down, hoping they would offer some relief.

As the medication began to take effect,  Hye-joon's eyelids grew heavy with fatigue. With a weary sigh, she lay back on her bed and within minutes she fell asleep.

The next day.........

Jungkook went to the hospital for the appointment.

Jungkook sat in the sterile hospital room, his hands clasped tightly together as he waited for the doctor to arrive. His heart raced with anxiety,

Finally, the door swung open, and Dr. Min entered with a serious expression on his face. Jungkook's stomach churned with nerves as he watched the doctor approach.

"Good morning, Jungkook," Dr. Min greeted him, his tone serious. "I've reviewed your latest test results, and I'm afraid I have some difficult news to share."

Jungkook's heart sank as he braced himself for the worst. "What is it, doctor?" he asked, his voice barely above a whisper.

Dr. Lee took a seat across from Jungkook and folded his hands in his lap. "I'm afraid we can't delay your chemotherapy sessions any longer," he began. "Your condition has worsened, and it's imperative that we start treatment immediately."

Jungkook felt a wave of dread wash over him at the doctor's words. He had been hoping for a different outcome, but deep down, he knew that his health was deteriorating.

"How long will the chemotherapy sessions last?" Jungkook asked, his voice trembling slightly.

Dr. Lee sighed, his expression sympathetic. "It's difficult to say for certain," he replied. "But typically, chemotherapy sessions can last anywhere from several weeks to several months, depending on how well your body responds to the treatment."

Jungkook nodded, his mind racing with questions and concerns. "Will the chemotherapy make me feel sick?" he asked, his voice filled with apprehension.

"It's possible," Dr. Lee admitted. "Chemotherapy can cause a range of side effects, including nausea, fatigue, and hair loss. But we'll do everything we can to manage your symptoms and make you as comfortable as possible."

Jungkook swallowed hard, trying to push aside his fears.

"What are my chances of recovery?" Jungkook asked, his voice barely above a whisper.

Dr. Lee hesitated for a moment before responding. "I won't sugarcoat it, Jungkook," he said gently. "Your condition is serious, and there are no guarantees when it comes to cancer treatment. But we'll do everything we can to fight this disease and give you the best possible chance of recovery."

Jungkook nodded, his eyes filled with tears.

"Thank you, doctor," he said, his voice steady. "I'm ready to start treatment."
