Chapter 1
Third person's pov
Jungkook woke up early, feeling a bit off but not being able to put his finger on why. He shrugged off the feeling, deciding that it was probably just due to lack of sleep. Rubbing his eyes, he got ready and headed to the kitchen,
As he entered the kitchen, he greeted the morning with a yawn, feeling the weariness in his bones. "Good morning," he called out quietly to the empty rooms.
He then began preparing breakfast for his family, cutting vegetables with precision and care.
The sound of the knife hitting the chopping board echoed in the silence.
As the food cooked, Jungkook couldn't help but worry about feeling a bit tired. "I wonder why I'm feeling so worn out today," he murmured to himself, frowning slightly. "Maybe I just need more sleep."
He shook his head, trying to push away the anxiety, and continued to focus on the task at hand. He then turned his attention to ironing,
He diligently ironed Taehyung's suit first, making sure to get every wrinkle out, and then moved on to hye-joon's and taemin's. As he carefully pressed the clothes, he couldn't shake the sense of loneliness that lingered in the air.
Once the ironing was done, he proceeded to place the neatly pressed clothes in each of their rooms, making sure everything was ready for them.
With that taken care of, he headed back to the kitchen to finish up breakfast and pack their lunches.
With slow methodical movements, Jungkook packed their meals, all the while pondering over why the fatigue he felt hadn't lifted. "I must be coming down with something," he muttered to himself.
Once the breakfast was ready, and the lunchboxes packed, he made his way through the house to wake up Taehyung, taemin, and hye-joon. He gently knocked on their bedroom doors, announcing that breakfast was ready.
"Taehyung, wake up, love, breakfast is ready," Jungkook called softly as he entered their room. He smiled warmly at his sleeping husband, who grumbled in response but eventually rubbed his eyes and sat up.
" Good morning Tae."
" Morning." Taehyung responded before getting up from the bed and going to bathroom.
Then left the room to wake up the kids. "Taemin, it's time to get up." he said as he gently shook his son awake.
Taemin mumbled incoherently and pulled the covers over his head. "I'm tired, Eomma. Can't I just skip today?"
"You need to go, Taemin. Your finals are near." he said before moving on to wake up hye-joon.
"Hye-joonie, wake up. Breakfast is ready." Jungkook said, trying to rouse his daughter gently.
He got no response from her so he shook her a bit more. " Baby get up-" Before he could finish his sentence, hye-joon interrupted.
Hye-joon grumbled, "I know it's morning so please go, I will get up."
Jungkook sighed inwardly at her responses but didn't let it show as he headed back to the kitchen to set the table.
He hoped that maybe once they were all awake and had a good breakfast, their moods would lift.
As he laid out the dishes, their sounds echoed in the quiet kitchen, the only noise being the clinking of bowls and the slight creaking of the chairs.
Once everything was set, Jungkook joined them at the table, serving up the food and pouring out drinks. "Here's your breakfast, everyone. Eat up and make sure to take your lunches," he said with a small smile,
As they all started the breakfast, Hye-joon took a few bites of her food and then suddenly pushed her plate away.
"It's so salty," she groaned. "I'm on a diet, I can't eat this. And it doesn't even taste good. I'll just grab something outside. Bye, Eomma and Appa."
With that, she hastily gathered her things and hurried out of the room,
Taemin, seeing Hye-joon make her quick exit, glanced at Jungkook before scrambling to pick up his bag and following in her footsteps. Jungkook called after him, but Taemin didn't even turn back, sprinting out the door with urgency.
Meanwhile, Taehyung sat at the table, his appetite faltering as he struggled to finish his meal.
"Are you okay, Taehyung?" Jungkook asked, concern evident in his voice.
" Hmm."
"I need to go," Taehyung mumbled, standing up from the table.
Jungkook quickly followed suit, getting to his feet and moving to help Taehyung with his coat.
"Here, let me help you with that," Jungkook offered, draping the coat over Taehyung's shoulders.
Taehyung glanced at Jungkook with a small smile,
"Thanks," Taehyung murmured as he straightened his coat. "I'll see you later."
"When will you come home?" Jungkook asked, his voice tinged with concern.
Taehyung frowned and replied.
"I'll come back when I want to," Taehyung said with a hint of frustration in his tone.
Jungkook just sighed.
"Alright, just take care of yourself, Taehyung," Jungkook said softly as Taehyung leaned over to plant a quick kiss on Jungkook's head.
Taehyung straightened up, offering Jungkook a small smile before turning and leaving the room without another word, leaving Jungkook behind with a heavy heart.
After everyone left, Jungkook also had his breakfast. As he finished eating, he cleaned up the table and then moved on to tidying up the house. He wiped down the countertops, straightened up the living room, and dusted the shelves. Despite feeling fatigued from the morning's activities, he pushed himself to finish the chores.
Finally, as he finished working, he knew he needed to take a moment to catch his breath. Jungkook sat on the sofa, feeling the weight of exhaustion settle on his shoulders.
He poured himself a glass of water and took a deep, calming breath. In the quiet of the house, he couldn't help but comment to himself, "I am really getting old now."
His chest rose and fell as he worked on calming his rapid breathing,
The house was peaceful, save for the distant whirr of the washing machine and the gentle tick-tock of the clock on the wall. Jungkook closed his eyes, letting the cool water soothe his parched throat, and gave himself a moment to collect his thoughts.
"I should've taken it easy," he muttered under his breath, chiding himself for pushing too hard. "But there was just so much to do today."
He sighed and set the glass down on the coffee table, the condensation leaving a faint ring on the surface. Propping his elbows on his knees, he leaned forward and stared at the floor, lost in thought.
As the minutes ticked by, he could feel his breathing returning to a steady rhythm. The tightness in his chest alleviated, and he let out a slow exhale, feeling the tension ebb away.
"I need to take better care of myself," he murmured to the empty room, a note of determination in his voice.
At evening........
Meanwhile, as Hye-joon and Taehyung got off work, they decided to have lunch together.
Taehyung suggested, "Hye-joonie, let's go out for lunch today, what do you say?" Hye-joon nodded enthusiastically and replied, "Appa, I was also thinking the same."
Taehyung chuckled and said, "Great! Let's go pick up Taemin from college and then we can grab some lunch together."
As they arrived at Taemin's college, he greeted them with a smile, hopping into the car and joining his father and sister.
They drove to a nearby restaurant and had a wonderful time chatting and enjoying their meal. The atmosphere was filled with laughter and warmth as they relished their time together.
Back at home, Jungkook had prepared a special lunch with love and care for his family. However, as time passed and they didn't return, he experienced a mix of worry and disappointment. Exhausted from the morning's activities, he eventually dozed off at the dining table while waiting for them.
After a couple of hours, Jungkook was stirred awake by the doorbell. Rubbing his eyes, he made his way to the door and opened it to find Taehyung, Taemin, and Hye-joon standing there.
Jungkook's face lit up as he welcomed them in, saying, "Welcome back, I was waiting for you. Let's have lunch together."
Taehyung gently said Jungkook, "Actually, it's already dinner time, Jungkook." Realizing his mistake, Jungkook chuckled softly and said, "Oh, I didn't even realize the time. Let me reheat the food, and we can have it for dinner."
As Taehyung excused himself to attend to his plans with friends, Hye-joon said, "I'm not very hungry, Eomma," before heading to her room.
Jungkook's smile faltered a bit as he watched them disperse, feeling a pang of disappointment. However, Taemin spoke up, saying, "Eomma, I'm still hungry. Let's have dinner together."
Jungkook's face brightened instantly as he turned to Taemin and replied, " Come son let's eat together." They both made their way to the dining room, and Jungkook began reheating the meal while engaging in lighthearted conversation with Taemin.
The aroma of the food filled the air, and soon they were seated at the table, indulging in their dinner. Jungkook served the dinner and they started eating.
As they finished the meal, Taemin thanked Jungkook and remarked, "Eomma, this was delicious. " Jungkook's smile widened, and he patted Taemin's head, saying, "I'm so glad you enjoyed it baby."
At night, Jungkook was struggling with a persistent cough that had been bothering him for the past few days.
It seemed to get worse in the evenings, and tonight was no exception. His coughing fit echoed through the quiet room, and Taehyung, who was trying to sleep, couldn't help but express his annoyance.
"Uff, can't you control it?" Taehyung groaned from his bed, clearly irritated by the disturbance.
Jungkook, feeling exasperated, retorted, "Taehyung, are you serious? How can I even control my cough?"
As tears welled up in Jungkook's eyes from the frustration and discomfort, Taehyung, let out a sigh.
"Okay, I'm sorry. Don't cry. I have a meeting tomorrow, so please, try to stop with your coughing and crying," Taehyung said, his voice tinged with a mix of frustration and concern.
