The sky was dark, and Yeonjun sat nervously on his bed as the doorbell rang, nearly causing him to jump out of his skin.

"Fuck," was all Yeonjun could mutter, having been nervously awaiting Soobin's arrival this whole time.
He had to force himself to stand up, despite the fact that all of his limbs felt shaky, and he dashed out towards the hallway.

The doorbell rang again, as if the person standing behind it was growing impatient.

"Yeah, yeah, I'm coming babe!" Yeonjun called out, wanting the incessant ringing to stop.
He made it over to the door in a minute, and quickly unlocked it, swinging it open.

"Who are you calling babe, kid?"

Yeonjun froze as he came face to face with an older man, wearing a leather jacket and jeans straight outta the 1950's, standing with his hands in his pockets at the doorway. The man's deep voice was accompanied by a warm grin sent towards the boy.

"Dad...?" Yeonjun murmured after a moment of staring.

Dear god, of all the times his father could show up out of the blue, why did it have to be now?

"Wh... why are you here?" Yeonjun questioned frantically as his father pushed past him and walked into the house, setting the bag he'd brought with him on their couch nearby.

"Just thought I'd drop by and visit. It's Lupercalia tomorrow, right? I brought your mom some flowers," the father explained with a smile, pulling a bouquet out of his bag.

"That's... really nice of you dad, but," Yeonjun fidgeted, glancing between the older man and the front door, "I'm kinda, uh, busy right now...? This is a bad time."

The father only raised his eyebrows at this.
"Well you sure don't look like you're doing anything."

"No! I'm, um, expecting someone over," the son explained awkwardly, trying his hardest to avoid any questioning by his father.

The man looked Yeonjun up and down for a moment, before gaining a mischievous smirk.
"Ah, your mom did mention you have a boyfriend now. You invited him over for the holidays?"

"No," Yeonjun quickly denied, before pausing.
"Well... maybe."

The father only grinned at this, as if proud of his son.
"You think this one's serious? You've never brought any of your past partners to the holidays before," he commented, Yeonjun staring at him wide eyed.

"How did you know that...?"

"Your mom tells me everything, hun," the dad crossed his arms, retaining his signature grin.
"So? What's the deal?"

Yeonjun shifted back and forth on his heels nervously as he was questioned. He couldn't help but notice his father's sharp fangs poking out in his smile. The telltale sign of his true nature.

"Well... yeah, he's serious," Yeonjun admitted cautiously.
"I was, um, actually thinking about doing the Ceremony with him..."

The father immediately gasped at this.
"Are you sure?" he questioned, a bit shocked. "Your mother and I didn't do that until we were months into dating."

"Yeah, well," Yeonjun defended himself. "I dunno, I just feel like I shou—"

A quiet knock came at the door, and both heads immediately turned to stare at the entrance.

"He's here," Yeonjun announced, feeling that Soobin was nearby. "Please, please don't say anything embarrassing about me, I beg you," the boy added on as he began to head towards the door.

"My lips are sealed! I promise," the father responded, making a zipper motion on his mouth jokingly.

Yeonjun approached the door nervously, having to take a deep breath before he placed his hand gingerly on the handle. Before he could start to doubt himself, he swung the door open, coming face to face with the warm brown eyes of a taller boy.

"Ahah... hey," Yeonjun shuffled his feet awkwardly. "Come in, but uh, fair warning, my father is he—"

"A human?!" yelled a startled deep voice from back inside the house, making Yeonjun cringe as he led Soobin inside.

"Dad," Yeonjun gave him an evil look, noticing his crush stare awkwardly at the middle aged stranger in the living room.

"God, you really do take after me..." the man muttered to himself under his breath, too quiet for Soobin to hear. Yeonjun caught it, however, and wanted to absolutely tear his hair out at the remark.

"So, uh, sorry to leave so soon dad, but we were kinda gonna go... study or something?" Yeonjun rattled out the shittiest excuse known to man.

The father only let out a "pfft" sound at this.
"Yeah, right, you invited your boyfriend to Lupercalia to study? I wasn't born yesterday Junnie," he laughed, gesturing for the two to leave. "It's okay. I'll talk to you later, you can go."

Yeonjun nodded, taking Soobin by the wrist and somewhat yanking him out of the room, just desperate to not have to interact with his father right now. Soobin was only able to give the parent an awkward apologetic wave as they left.

The pair were oddly silent as they walked to the elder boy's room. The tension between them was so thick, that Yeonjun noticed Soobin refraining from even throwing himself onto his beanbag chair as he usually would, and instead quietly finding himself a seat at the foot of Yeonjun's bed.

Yeonjun sat next to him timidly, afraid to even look him in the eye at this point.

"So," he spoke up after a moment, playing with his own fingers in an attempt to distract his mind from drifting to worried thoughts.
"We need to address the elephant in the room, right?"

Soobin lightly shook his head.
No.

Yeonjun blinked, holding the boy's gaze.
"We're... not gonna talk about it?"

An unreadable emotion pooled in Soobin's eyes, one that Yeonjun wasn't sure he'd ever seen before.

And just as he opened his mouth to ask, Soobin's hands were on both sides of his face, and he was leaning in, and—

Soobin was kissing him.

The boy's soft lips were on Yeonjun's own, and he felt himself smiling, and the stupid butterflies in his stomach were fluttering their happy little wings off because holy shit, Soobin was kissing him.

He barely even knew what was happening, but both of his hands found their way to hold the back of Soobin's neck, giving back what felt like the most gentle kiss he'd ever been gifted by anyone.

After a moment of heaven, they pulled apart, Soobin biting his lip in nervousness as he tried to gauge Yeonjun's reaction to what he'd just done.

"Uh, wow, Binnie," he laughed under his breath, still so close he could catch his own reflection in Soobin's dark eyes. "That was..."

"That was my first kiss," Soobin admitted quietly, mumbling it as if embarrassed. He covered his face with his hands timidly.

Yeonjun's heart did a whole backflip.
"Really...?" he whispered back, a grin plastered on his face.
The boy carefully pried Soobin's hands away from his face, making eye contact with him again.

"Well, here's your second," Yeonjun murmured, leaning back in and leaving a tender peck against the boy's lips, seeing Soobin's eyes flutter closed at the feeling.

And god, Yeonjun thought he was so beautiful.

After leaning back, Yeonjun immediately pulled the boy into a hug, burying his face against Soobin's neck. All he could do was breathe deeply, Soobin's familiar and lovely scent both calming and exhilarating to him.

"You know," he spoke softly, feeling the boy's heart rate spike. "No one's ever kissed me like that before."

"Mm," Soobin hummed in acknowledgement, still a little too shy for his own good. "And is that a bad thing? Or..."

"No," Yeonjun insisted, lazily stroking Soobin's hair. "Not at all. It felt like... you loved me," he dared to say it, feeling the younger tense up at the sentence.

Soobin, meanwhile, was fully comprehending this idea.
Did he love Yeonjun? He knew he absolutely adored the boy, that was certain. Normally it would've been labeled a crush, as the two hadn't even known each other a full year...

Well. Soobin supposed he could call it love, for now. Who's to say it wasn't?

"Maybe I do," he responded, practically melting into Yeonjun's warm embrace. Yeonjun lightly laughed at this, leaving a kiss against Soobin's neck.

"You're so cute," he complimented, nuzzling him.

"You are, not me," Soobin argued.

"Noo, you are," Yeonjun insisted.

"No, Jun, definitely you."

"Disagree. You are."

"No," Soobin tried, but was soon cut off as he was shoved backwards into the bed, in a surprise attack from the other boy.

He stared, wide eyed, up at Yeonjun who was now pinning him down to the mattress, flashing him a grin accented by cute yet sharp canines.

Yeonjun merely bent down, leaning his forehead against Soobin's for a moment and shutting his eyes as a gesture of closeness. The tips of their noses brushed together, and Soobin scrunched his at the ticklish feeling.

"Let's stay here and cuddle," Yeonjun suggested in a whisper. "We have nothing else to do today, right?"

Soobin felt a little flushed at this, especially when Yeonjun began leaving light kisses along his jawline as he'd done in the past.
Yet somehow... this time felt different.

Right. Yeonjun was no longer off limits in that way. Therefore, Soobin could do this:

The younger boy grabbed Yeonjun's shirt collar, pulling him downward and leaving a kiss on each upturned corner of Yeonjun's mouth, surprising him to say the least.

Yeonjun giggled at this, rolling over as to where Soobin was now laying on top of him. He held the other's face in his hands as if admiring an art work.

"Yeonjun," the younger murmured after a moment, glancing down at the fabric covering the boy's chest.

"Hm?" Yeonjun questioned.

"Is that my hoodie?"

Yeonjun only smiled sheepishly at this.

Well. Looks like he'd been caught.
