The rushing of water filled the dim room, crashing against its porcelain base with purpose.
It was around 6 in the morning, and not long after Yeonjun had woken up due to a rather unpleasant dream. Realizing he needed to pee rather badly, he'd creeped out of Soobin's bedroom, wandering around until he found a bathroom down the halls.
He was just finishing washing his hands, and he dried them off with a towel, staring at himself in the mirror.
His hair and clothes, messy from sleep, stared back at him.
He hadn't brought any extras for school today, so he figured he'd have to go back to Soobin's room and steal some.
The boy shut off the lights and sink, before opening the door and stepping out into the hallway.
"Hey," a female voice said from nearby, scaring the crap out of him. "You're up early..."
Yeonjun turned around to see a middle aged woman standing in the hall, equal confusion forming on her face as she looked at who she was talking to.
"Oh... you're not Soobin. Who...?" she said, her voice familiar.
Yeonjun instantly realized it was his mother.
"I'm a classmate of his," he immediately explained. "Sorry, we were working on an assignment late so I stayed the night."
The woman gazed at him for a second, scanning him up and down.
She sighed, taking a sip from the cup of coffee she was holding.
"No need to lie," she waved it off, monotone. "I've suspected he was into boys for a while."
Yeonjun only stared back at her, speechless.
"Make yourself at home," she said, giving him a nod before continuing down the hallway, moving on with whatever business she'd been doing.
The boy watched her walk off, his heartbeat having shot up in nervousness. At least that seemed somewhat good? He honestly had no idea; he didn't know Soobin's mother well.
Yeonjun scurried the rest of the way to Soobin's room, not wanting to risk any more awkward encounters. Upon getting there, he slipped in and shut the door, letting out a deep breath.
Soobin still slept on the bed, hugging a pillow like a koala.
Yeonjun watched him for a second, the rhythm to the rise and fall of his chest mesmerizing.
Quietly, he inched open the door to Soobin's closet, figuring he would get dressed since he was awake anyway. He shuffled through a few hung up shirts and hoodies, none of them particularly standing out to him.
He glanced around, catching sight of a sweatshirt thrown over a chair.
Before he'd known it, Yeonjun had wandered over to it, picking it up. He slightly grinned as he held it, sensing that Soobin had worn it recently...
Yeonjun froze.
How the hell did he know that?
He held the garment up to his face, staring at its fabric as if that would somehow provide the answers. Sure, it had Soobin's scent on it, and it was just laid out in the open conveniently...
Yeonjun stumbled over his own thoughts, alarmed at what had just popped into his head. It smelled like him? As far as he was aware, he didn't even know what Soobin smelled like, and yet...
He didn't wanna think about that right now. Instead, he tossed the sweatshirt back on the chair from which he grabbed it, turning back to find another, less tempting shirt.
Apparently the rustling around and opening drawers was somewhat loud, as the sound of movement from the bed grabbed Yeonjun's attention.
Soobin lazily sat up, halfway opening his eyes, clearly wishing he was asleep as he stared across the room at Yeonjun.
"...What are you doing?" Soobin whisper-shouted at him, rightfully wondering why this scoundrel was rummaging through his things.
"Well, good morning!" Yeonjun replied, not answering the question at all.
"It's only 6am, we don't have school for two hours," Soobin responded, rubbing his eyes with his hands as he adjusted to being awake.
"I know," Yeonjun said, grabbing a t-shirt and jacket from a drawer. "I'm just getting ready in advance."
"Too far in advance," Soobin chided. "Why are you even awake?"
Yeonjun pursed his lips. He really didn't want to get into the dream he'd had, as explaining the whole memory to Soobin would be too painful.
"Dunno, just woke up early. Probably cause I spent most of yesterday napping," Yeonjun shrugged, looking around for a pair of pants.
Soobin let out a breath as he swung his legs over the edge of the bed, willing himself to get up.
He stood, wrapping his blanket over his shoulders, and padded across the room towards Yeonjun.
"I have sweatpants in here," Soobin spoke sleepily, gently pushing past the elder boy and pulling open a drawer.
"Ah, thanks," he said, stepping in front of Soobin and pulling out some loose jeans.
The feeling of arms around his waist made him flinch.
Yeonjun waited, soon registering Soobin's chin resting on his shoulder, eyes closed.
"God, I'm tired," Soobin mumbled, more so using Yeonjun as support to stand than giving him a back hug.
Regardless, Yeonjun felt slightly flushed.
He didn't know whether it was shampoo, or perfume, or something else, but with Soobin being this close to him, he couldn't help but notice just how good he smelled.
He hesitantly brought his hand over one of Soobin's, giving it a light squeeze.
"Go back to sleep then... there's still time."
Soobin didn't answer this, only staying where he was, clinging to the elder.
"Bin," Yeonjun tapped on his hand. "Hello...?"
"No," Soobin responded late. "It's okay, I'm up," he said, squeezing Yeonjun's hand back.
Yeonjun turned around, causing the younger to have to let go of him. Soobin barely had time to give him a confused look before being hoisted off the ground by the waist, and put over Yeonjun's shoulder.
"Huh—?!" Soobin questioned, now wide awake from being carried across the room.
Yeonjun dumped him back onto his bed, pulling the blanket over his body.
"I'll stop making noise. Just sleep," he said, standing back up.
The taller yanked Yeonjun down by the wrist, the surprised elder boy tripping onto the bed and on top of Soobin.
Yeonjun, shocked, sent him a look as if to ask, 'Are you crazy?' Soobin only grinned at him, grabbing his shoulders and pulling at him to come closer.
Yeonjun couldn't help but smile at Soobin's dark hair smushed against the pillow, and the adorable grin he was giving him.
"Binnie," he said, the younger visibly perking up at the nickname.
"Yeah?" Soobin replied, holding his gaze.
"Your dimples are cute," he said, seeing Soobin reach up and cover his smile, bashfully.
Yeonjun lightly swatted his hand away. "Don't do thattt, I wanna see them," he whined.
Soobin removed his hands, seemingly complying... yet immediately brought them up to Yeonjun's neck, pulling his head down closer.
"You don't get to see them right now," he said, leaning over to leave a kiss against Yeonjun's cheek, just feeling like he wanted to.
Yeonjun's mind went blank at this.
Suddenly, it was as if nothing else besides Soobin even existed or mattered at all. He had to have all of him, no matter what it took.
He buried his face against the younger boy's neck, feeling almost high from his warmth and his calming scent. Yeonjun left a soft kiss against his skin, knowing his heartrate was exploding right now.
The feeling of Soobin's hands against his back was almost enough to make him confess right then.
Yet, the urge to bite something arose, much to Yeonjun's confusion. Of course, looking at Soobin's pretty little neck, it did make sense...
On second thought, what???
Yeonjun tried to block out these impulses. For some reason he just felt like he had to bite something. Immediately.
"Umm, Jun?" Soobin questioned, seeing Yeonjun pull away, likely bearing a quite lost expression.
Yeonjun didn't reply, instead scanning over the view in front of him.
He took in Soobin, laid back on the bed, his beautiful dark eyes watching Yeonjun with curiosity.
He leaned down, head next to Soobin's, and bit down hard on the fabric of the pillow, too terrified to take the risk of harming the boy.
It was incredibly stressful, being unable to stop this desire.
He thought back to what that girl had said to him, ages ago... Was he really made for this? Was it truly impossible to avoid?
"Jun, are you okay...?" Soobin asked. Yeonjun realized he'd taken the boy's hand and was gripping it harshly.
"Yeah!" he immediately put on a cheerful face, not wanting Soobin to worry. "Could I go get some food? I'm kinda hungry," he said. "You can change or get ready while I'm gone."
Soobin seemed hesitant, but nodded. "Okay. Cereal and bread is in the cabinet next to the fridge," he informed, Yeonjun smiling gratefully.
"Oh, Yeonjun..." he said, feeling the other begin to get up.
Soobin sat up, planting a kiss on Yeonjun's forehead before he could leave.
"That's it, you're free to go," he waved him off, signaling for the older to hurry up.
Yeonjun smiled adoringly at him.
"Alright, see you in a little bit," he said, tucking Soobin's hair behind his ear as he stood up.
He made his way to the entryway, giving a little salute to Soobin before stepping out, shutting the door softly.
Yeonjun leaned back against the wall, letting out a breath as the weight lifted from his shoulders.
He already knew this was going to be a problem.
