Yeonjun had no idea why he felt so energetic.

The late afternoon had set in, and Choi Yeonjun found himself at Soobin's house, with a half empty cup of hot ginseng tea sat on the bedside table.

Soobin laid down on the bed right next to him, playing with the strings of Yeonjun's hoodie while the elder sipped his drink.
It was almost a little too close, as the feeling of Soobin's shoulder up against his own made him just the tiniest bit antsy.

"How are you feeling?" Soobin inquired as the elder set down his tea.

Yeonjun blinked, registering the fact that he felt scarily good at the moment.
"Way better, actually. Thanks."

Soobin gave a soft laugh at this. "Why are you thanking me? I didn't do anything."

You did,
Yeonjun thought, yet outwardly he only shrugged. "No reason," he said, giving the other a warm smile.

Soobin let out a breath, lying fully down on his bed and looking up at the ceiling. Yeonjun's eyes lingered at the boy's thin waist for a second, ignoring all the thoughts of wrapping his arms around it and holding him.

His mind went hazy for a moment, something distracting him from rational thought. He was overcome with the urge to be closer to the other, and as if his brain was on autopilot, Yeonjun sat up, looking down at him.

"Hm?" Soobin questioned as Yeonjun knelt on the bed, holding eye contact with him.

"Put your phone down," Yeonjun ordered softly, seeing the device in Soobin's hand and therefore in the way. Soobin obeyed, although with a rightfully wary expression.

Yeonjun crawled on top of the younger boy, the warmth of Soobin's body like a magnet to him. He buried his face against Soobin's neck, not knowing why he craved this more than anything else right now.

"Um, Jun..." Soobin mumbled the elder's name, a bit flustered as he felt him breathing against his skin.

"Yeah, baby?" Yeonjun returned on instinct, his eyes closed.

Soobin's brain malfunctioned at this.
"Nothing... never mind," he dismissed it. Whatever the hell was happening right now, he was going to enjoy it to the fullest.

Yeonjun left a couple of soft kisses against Soobin's neck, lightly laughing afterwards.
"God, how cute..." he murmured against his skin, making chills run down Soobin's spine.

Soobin nuzzled into Yeonjun's hair, noticing the scent of sweet vanilla there to greet him.

All at once, it struck him that this was incredibly intimate, and he had no idea if they could return to being normal friends after whatever this was.
Although, to be fair, they had been in the weird vague kissy stage for a little while now.

Soobin almost jumped at the feeling of Yeonjun's hands gripping his waist, as if to keep themselves occupied while their owner snuggled up to the younger.

The boy nearly had a heart attack as he heard the distant sound of the front door to his house opening.

"Soobin!" his mother yelled from far away. "Are you home, sweetie?"

The dark haired boy only stared towards his closed bedroom door.
"...Yeah!" he yelled back. "I'm doing homework!"

He felt Yeonjun softly laugh at this. "Liarrr" he whispered teasingly, before leaving a kiss upon Soobin's jawline.

"What, you want an introduction or something?" Soobin responded with a joking tone, despite feeling a little nervous.

"Nah," Yeonjun shook his head. "You're good enough, I don't need the whole family."

"How kind of you..." Soobin responded sarcastically, while absentmindedly wrapping his arms over Yeonjun's shoulders.

Yeonjun propped himself up, coming face to face with the younger boy.
"Can I ask you something kinda weird?"

Soobin gave him a confused look, but nodded.

"How close are you with Yeji?" he inquired, hoping the hesitant expression on his face wasn't shown.

"Hella. She's been my best friend since we were like, seven," Soobin responded. "Why?"

Yeonjun exhaled at this, debating how to explain his motives.
"Just wondering. It must be nice being that close with someone..."

Soobin stared up at him for a moment. "Do you... not think that we're close?"

Yeonjun's eyes widened.
"No! Of course I do, it's just... y'know, if it was between me and Yeji, you'd probably... pick her, right?" he rambled.

"W—Why would I have to choose?" Soobin responded.

"You don't! Just, hypothetically," Yeonjun cringed at his own words, not liking the way that they came out.
He couldn't explain that if things stayed as they were now, he might really have to pick one.

"It's completely different," Soobin insisted. "Yeji and I have a different dynamic. She's a close friend, but there's less... skinship?"

Yeonjun wore a smug smile.
"You wouldn't do this with friends?" he spoke quietly, bringing one of his hands up to Soobin's and squeezing it. He gently laced their fingers together, watching the other's expression carefully.

"No." Soobin replied. "I don't think you understand how shy I am."

Yeonjun giggled at this, nuzzling Soobin's nose with his own.
"You're not shy with me," he spoke softly, the adoring look in his eyes making Soobin struggle to even respond.

"W... Well, yeah," Soobin stuttered out. "How could I be when you act like this?"

"I don't know what you're talking about," Yeonjun replied, leaning down and gently biting at Soobin's ear.

Soobin flinched at this, not having expected it at all.
"Wow— okay, okay," he laughed, delirious. "That's just..."

Soobin nearly squeaked as he felt a new, wet warmth along his jawline, making him pull away from the elder boy in shock.

"J...Jesus! Fuck, did you just lick me?!" Soobin questioned, seeing Yeonjun completely laughing his ass off next to him.

"Your face! Oh my god," Yeonjun managed to get out, still cackling at the other's reaction.

"Hey!!! You're supposed to warn me at least! Damn!"

"Yeah, yeah, I'll warn you next time," Yeonjun waved it off, covering his mouth with a hand to stop the giggles.

"Next time?? God, you..."

Soobin trailed off as Yeonjun rolled off of him, laying back on the mattress and relaxing.

"Hey..." he whined at the loss of contact, scooting next to him on the bed. Yeonjun smiled as Soobin draped a leg over his waist like a koala, cuddling up from the side.

"Have you heard of Ceremonia before?" Yeonjun brought up out of nowhere, playing with Soobin's hair.

"No...?" Soobin responded. "Should I have?"

"Ah, never mind then. It's okay," Yeonjun let out a breath. It would be easier to let the subject drop.

Yeonjun closed his eyes, wanting to spend some time with his thoughts.
"I might take a nap," he said to Soobin, who nodded, although he couldn't see it.

"Same, honestly," Soobin said, laying down against the pillow. He wrapped an arm across Yeonjun's chest, making the elder smile just a little.

"Night for now, then," Yeonjun spoke jokingly.

Yet he almost peeked open his eyes as he felt the soft touch of Soobin's lips to his the tip of his nose, a little peck to replace a "goodnight."

All Yeonjun could do was bite back a smile, with only happy thoughts staying in his mind as he fell asleep.
