Soobin sat in his first period class, staring at the clock in anticipation.

It was fairly late in the morning, and yet something seemed incredibly off about his surroundings. Despite it being time for the first class of the day to begin, a strangely low number of students were in the classroom...

The teacher stood in front of the class, eerily silent. Soobin assumed he would say something, yet... no words came. Surely he too was wondering why nearly half of the class was missing?

Soobin glanced at the seat next to him. Empty. This, of course worried him more than everyone else, not to be biased or anything.

He pulled his phone out, sending off a quick text.

_

Soobin:
hey jun where are you???
Delivered

_

No response came. Soobin sighed as he set his phone face down on his desk, watching other students begin to whisper among themselves.

"Attention, faculty and staff," a voice came over the intercom, likely that of the principal. "All students arriving late are to be excused, due to a traffic accident.

Soobin furrowed his brows at this. He hadn't seen any accident when he was coming to school. Why would they...?

His phone buzzed, and he immediately picked it up as to check the notification.

_
Yeonjun:
I'm coming dw
Did they already tell you guys abt what happened??

Soobin:
umm they said there was a traffic accident

Yeonjun:
A TRAFFIC ACCIDENT??
Bin there's a whole protest going on out here

Soobin:
Oh

Yeonjun:
I honestly have no idea but I think it's something to do with demons because Beomgyu is there 🗿

Soobin:

I haven't read the news yet today I guess something happened

Yeonjun:
Yeah me neither
I'll check when I get to class but it's taking a while bc the protestors are in the roads

Soobin:
Weird that they didn't just tell us it's a protest

Yeonjun:
Lmao they don't wanna remind y'all that demons exist

Soobin:
People are starting to walk into class rn
Are you nearby?

Yeonjun:
Yeah I'll be a couple minutes hold on
Can you survive for two minutes without me?

Soobin:
I can try

Yeonjun:
I will hurry ❤️

Soobin:

Seen

Soobin knew he definitely hadn't heard of any plans for a protest recently... which was quite strange, considering the people who he followed online.

Regardless, he always had the internet. He searched for the recent news, looking for whatever could be the cause.

After a short moment, Soobin found an article that seemed strange and clicked on it, seeing it had been published just that morning.

He almost jumped at the feeling of a hand on his head, ruffling his hair lightly.

"Ah— Jun, god, don't do that," Soobin lightly whined as he saw the boy walk behind him to his seat, laughing.

"Sorry," Yeonjun said, sitting down. "Is that the article?"

"Yeah, I think so," Soobin nodded, setting his phone down between them on the desks.
"I haven't read it yet, though."

Yeonjun nodded at this, leaning forward as to read over whatever Soobin had found.

"Death of 300 demons," he read off the page, "linked to... GnRH antagonist hormone blocker?" he finished, his voice going quiet.

"Yeah, I don't really know what that is," Soobin admitted, glancing up at the other.

"Oh... you okay?" Soobin asked, seeing an uneasy look wash over Yeonjun's face.

"Nah, I'm good!" Yeonjun insisted, giving the younger a smile. "It's just... you know, I have some friends who are..." he explained, leaving the end of the sentence purposefully unfinished.

Soobin nodded, understanding.
"I get it. I'd be worried too."

Yeonjun leaned back in his seat, glancing briefly out the window.
"Can you send that to me?" he asked quietly. "I have some people I need to show."

"Of course," Soobin said, quickly copying the link and pasting it into a text message for Yeonjun.

"Thanks," Yeonjun said as his phone buzzed in his pocket, and he quickly took it out and turned it on just to double check.

Soobin, however, was a little more focused on just exactly what the notification looked like on Yeonjun's phone.

"What does that mean?" Soobin questioned, leaning over.

Yeonjun almost jumped as he realized what the other was asking about.
"Um, nothing really..." he answered.

Soobin stared at him for a moment. Well, if Yeonjun didn't want to say, he could always google it later.

"We might as well get started," the teacher spoke from the front of the room.
The students seemed to collectively sigh, as people began to get out their books.

"God, I'm already done with school and it's only morning," Soobin muttered to himself as he dragged out his pencil case, seeing Yeonjun next to him do the same.

"Yeah, same..." Yeonjun agreed half heartedly, shoving his phone back into his pocket.

All eyes were on the classroom's clock, hoping and praying the minutes would pass by quickly.
