"Okay everyone! Thanks for coming today!"
The sweet voice of Yeji rang out, with the girl clapping her hands as she finished her sentence.
The small group of people in the room applauded or yelled back in encouragement, with mainly the girls making noise.
Soobin had only shown up to the film club meeting a few minutes earlier. The last class of the day had ended a short while ago, and thus he found himself sat in the club room surrounded by the girls.
Although the group seemed friendly, he still felt incredibly awkward with people he didn't know. Thus he sat mostly silently, merely listening as the girls debated amongst themselves.
"Soobin, any questions? You've been pretty quiet," Yeji called him out eventually.
Soobin only gave her a look of death.
"Yeah. Where's Jun?" he asked, needing said boy to come and put him out of his misery.
"He'll be a few minutes late, he said he had to do something. Any actual questions?" Yeji repeated.
A girl, who Soobin had been told was named Ryujin, raised her hand.
"Can we watch Rocky Horror Picture Show?"
"Maybe? Any other suggestions?" Yeji replied.
"Nah, we should watch some real weird shit. I say Midsommar," Yuna chimed in.
"Okay, okay. We should just take a vote," Yeji decided, ignoring various whines from the crowd.
Soobin pulled out his phone, absentmindedly playing a game to pass the time.
The girls eventually decided on a movie— although Soobin didn't know which one. Thus Yeji switched on the projector, connecting it to her computer as to stream the film onto the wall.
"Chae, can you turn off the lights for me?" Yeji asked. The girl in question gave her a thumbs up before standing up and jogging over to the light switch.
"Remind me to bring popcorn next time," one of the girls Soobin didn't know called over to Yeji, who nodded at her.
A few minutes passed by, with everyone pulling their chairs where they wanted in order to see the movie.
"Everyone good? We ready?" Yeji asked, wanting approval before starting the movie.
"Ah shit, my timing," said a lower voice that came from the door to the room.
Soobin turned his head to see the long awaited boy walk in, a bag of candy under his arm. Soobin almost spoke up to greet him, but was interrupted.
"Hi Yeonjun!" called the blonde girl, Yuna. "Where were you?"
"Hey," Yeonjun greeted back, walking over to place the bag on a table. "Just had to get something from a friend," he said, giving her a sheepish smile.
"Is that for us?" she tilted her head, glancing at the bag of candy.
Yeonjun briskly nodded in confirmation, to which she seemed rather excited.
Soobin didn't know why a sudden feeling of discomfort overtook him, watching the two interact.
"Junnn," Soobin whined before he even knew he was speaking. "I almost thought you weren't gonna come."
Yeonjun only laughed at the statement, grabbing a chair and dragging it over to the group.
"Nah idiot, he said he'd only show up if you were here," Yeji commented from the side.
"Yeji," Yeonjun said her name warningly, giving her a glare that Soobin couldn't see.
Soobin held back a smile at this, watching as Yeonjun pulled the chair up next to him and sat down.
"That's one of my favorite hoodies, y'know?" Yeonjun spoke again; his voice quieter this time, directed at Soobin.
Soobin glanced down at himself.
"Well, it's mine now," he said, rather boldly.
Yeonjun gave a grin at this. "It's fine. It looks cuter on you anyway," he commented, lightly tugging on the fabric.
"I'm starting it guys, everyone quiet down," Yeji said, clicking the play button on her laptop before running over to her seat.
The movie started playing, and the room hushed, although various whispers among the group could still be heard. Yeonjun pulled a small bag of hard candies out of his pocket, popping one into his mouth.
It became apparent that the movie was some horror one which Soobin had never heard of, and thankfully he didn't seem to find the scenes that frightening.
Yet, Soobin nearly died laughing as he glanced over to Yeonjun next to him, who had taken a picture of one of the monsters and was subtly texting it to Kai with the caption "This you?"
Feeling somewhat tired of sitting still, he got up and wandered over to the table, digging through the bag of candies Yeonjun had brought. He grabbed a few at random, shoving them into his pocket so he could eat them when he got back to his seat.
Yet, as Soobin wandered back over to his chair, he was met with a rather interesting obstacle.
Yeonjun had placed his bag on Soobin's chair, a smug smile on his face as he watched the younger's confused look.
Soobin glanced between the blocked seat and Yeonjun, his expression asking him just what he was trying to do.
Soobin almost began to speak up, but was quickly signaled to shush by Yeonjun. They were watching a movie, after all.
Instead, Yeonjun grabbed the other's focus, making sure he was looking at him.
Soobin felt like his soul left his body as soon as he realized the elder's intentions.
Yeonjun cutely patted his own thigh with one hand, a gesture which anyone would recognize.
God, where had his dignity gone? Soobin hated how he didn't feel the slightest bit reluctant to go along with it, and thus timidly wandered over.
Yeonjun's arms quickly found their way around Soobin's waist as the younger sat down onto his lap, with the elder only giving a pleased smile at his success.
He rested his chin on Soobin's shoulder before returning his attention to the film, satisfied with the current situation.
Meanwhile, Soobin felt his face getting way too warm. Choi Yeonjun had such an effect on him, and he felt like it was slowly taking over his mind.
Maybe Soobin liked him just a little bit.
"Bin," Yeonjun's lowered voice grabbed his attention. Soobin hummed to show that he was listening.
"I won't be here on Monday," Yeonjun whispered, finding one of Soobin's hands and covering it with his own.
"Why?" Soobin asked back, furrowing his brows.
Yeonjun stayed silent for a moment. "It's complicated," he mumbled, gently playing with Soobin's fingers.
"Anyway, I just thought you should know."
Soobin frowned at this for a moment. Why did he suddenly want to know the reason ten times more?
He nodded, hiding his emotions. "Okay. I'll see you on Tuesday then?"
Yeonjun nodded, resting his face against Soobin's neck.
"Yeah. Unless you wanted to drop by," he said, giving Soobin a look that suggested that option was more favored.
Soobin pursed his lips, a bit excited at the chance presented before him. "I might," he replied.
A silence fell over the pair as the movie kept playing, with Soobin relaxing into the elder's hold.
All Soobin could do now was make evil plans for the weekend.
