ONE

"Come on! Hurry up!" Lisa yells at me which was a very bad decision, considering the librarian kicked her out as soon as the words escaped her lips. I guess the Hush Hush series written by Becca Fitzpatrick, would have to solve my craving of hot fictional guys for the time being. Being the avid reader I am; I have already read this series, but Patch or Jev or whatever his real name is, melts my heart every time.

Why couldn't I have fallen angel try to kill me!?

Sighing softly, I move to the counter and give the books to the librarian. Her usually relaxed face scrunches up when she comes to the conclusion that I was the reason Lisa got kicked out of the library in the first place.

"You should tell your friend to be more quiet next time," She tells me in a strict tone, her eyebrows moving up slightly, trying to intimidate me.

As if that is going to work.

"Yes I will," I answer in a monotonous tone rolling my eyes slightly.

"Here are your books," She hands them over to me with a little note peeking outside of the first book. Why hadn't I noticed this before? Maybe the librarian has written a message on how if Lisa is loud again, we both would be kicked out.

Guess I would have what this note says later in class.

"Lisa!" I wave, capturing her green eyes immediately.

"Hey Camry," She greets and, yes, my name is the brand of a car. I don't seem to mind though, it suits me in a way...I guess.

"Hey, how is your step mum doing?" I ask, Lisa's dad had recently remarried but that hadn't bothered Lisa. She believes that: You can fall in love more than once, even after marriage.

To me: Love is bullshit.

How could so many people find the time to love someone. It felt like a waste of effort; especially if that person didn't love you in return. Looks like I won't be getting my prince charming any time soon.

"She's great, super nice, great cook and she even watches anime! How many people do you know watch anime now a days!? Apart from you and I of course. Most people are too busy watching the Kardashians or the Batchelor... I'm happy dad asked her to be his wife."

"That's good,"

"So anything new in your life?" She asks moving her eyebrows giving me the impression she is talking about my love life.

"Nothing new."

"Really? I heard Tom likes you,"

"Even if he does, you know I don't do love."

"You should give it a try,"

"Not after what happened with my parents," I shudder at the thought. I was definitely not going to fall in love. I will be single for the rest of my life.

"Anyway, what book did you borrow?" She asked swiftly changing the subject. My parents divorce was not a subject that we wanted to talk about.

"Hush Hush."

"Oh, that book with Patch right?"

"Mhmm, him and all his glory." A dreamy look coming on my face.  Clutching the book tighter to my chest I remember the note.

"Hey, Lisa? How much time do we have before class starts?" I ask as she checks her watch.

"About...fifteen minutes. Why?"

"You see, there is a note inside this book and I want know what it says."

"Well hurry up! You never know, it could be from your secret admirer," An excited blur of words leave her mouth.

With shaky fingers I delicately pulled the note from the book itself. It was a sticky note, one used to scrabble nonsense down that couldn't be forgotten. Why was a note like this hidden in book!? Maybe someone accidentally left it there my subconscious suggested; however I had a feeling that this was more than an accidental discovery.

I began to read.
