bonus chapter!
Dedicated to Yeontan.
In a sauntering manner, I make my way home after purchasing some tasty goodies not only for myself but for Seokjin Oppa as well from the convenience store which is just a few blocks away from home.
I had the sudden urge and crave for sweet cheap Korean treats hence I had quickly changed out of my pajamas and dressed up in the first presentable thing that my hands came into contact with.
A pale blue t-shirt and a black skirt.
I also threw on a pair of black and white Levi's instead of formal shoes, just so I could get to the store at a faster rate.
Sometimes I question my own sanity but then again when you're dating Taehyung, your sanity level doesn't really matter because being weird with him is one of the few things that I treasure the most in this world.
He's a great boyfriend with lots of love to give and when I say lots, I mean lots. That boy is crazy with affection. Every chance he gets he would lunge at me and squeeze me in a tight hug be it at home or school or he'd wanna do those cheesy couple type of things and binge watch movies, series or even anime.
But... In any case, I really like it that way.
And most importantly, he doesn't pressure me into doing anything that I don't want to do or anything that I'm not ready for. In other words, he's super considerate and that's one of my top reasons why I know my love for him will not wither.
Despite my thoughts running wildly over Taehyung, I take notice of the park which I'm about to pass by. This park is the landmark indicating that I'm about halfway home but as I pass the entrance I hear voices and soft barking which somehow sounds so vulnerable.
So, I decide to slowly come to a halt, and my grocer packet brushes against my knee and it comes to a stagnant stop as well. I peer myself half way passed the brick pillars and take a peek at whatevers going on in there because it's quite late, since the sky is burning a shade of burnt orange.
My eyes tries to locate where the voices are coming from, because the parks quite huge, and it scans around for a bit longer before it finally locates a small band of teenagers, about three of them, looking to be around the ages of fifteen or sixteen.
I raise an eyebrow as I watch all three of them stretch their right hands far behind them before suddenly launching something into the air. My eyes follows the flying object which they just propelled, trying to figure out what in the world it is and finally, I pin it as a pebble sized stone.
I stare on in confusion before looking over to where the stone would land and once I locate their target my eyes widens in pure terror.
It's a puppy that's buried neck deep in the sand box that's just below the pair of swings.
"That puppy..." I mumble in distraught. "I know I've seen it before..."
I quickly shake off the feeling of nostalgia and I instinctively step out from behind the pillars. I drop my grocer packet onto the sandy floor and as fast as my legs can carry me, I sprint, straight towards those boys.
"Yah! You shitty brats!" I yell, getting closer towards the boys and my harsh words seem to have caught their attention since they stop throwing stones.
Those colourful words which I just uttered is thanks to the amount of time my boyfriend and I spend watching anime. Taehyung recently got me into Attack on Titan, and Levi Ackerman's wonderful use of words seems to have made it's way into my vocabulary.
— Namjoon-nim would be a proud father.
But despite those distasteful words which I spat out, I find it befitting because they're harming an innocent little creature that cannot fend for itself.
I quickly race over to it and stand directly in front of the puppy, serving as it's barrier whilst I hear it softly bark behind me.
"What in the world are you three brats doing to this puppy?" I question, with a brewing anger in my eyes.
"Aish, it's looks like she's a high school student guys." One of them, with blonde hair, blurts. "But it's no biggy!"
I flinch slightly at the latter of his words, unable to make clear sense of it, meanwhile the other two boys, one with black hair smirks and the other with chestnut brown hair speaks up rather casually, "Can't you see that we're having fun and you're spoiling it?"
I grit my teeth in anger, "You call hurting animals fun? You must have some twisted mind to think that!"
The puppy barks in the background as the three boys incessantly cackle at my words and the look in their eyes clearly reads that they're aren't going to give up anytime soon.
"Soo ho, Min ho." The blonde one calls. "Let's get on with it. It's a bigger target. This will be even more fun."
My muscles suddenly tenses up at his words and I look over at the other two boy's and their expressions read the same as the blonde boy's— satisfaction and the urge to hurt.
I watch them aim their stones at me but I don't wait for them to launch it rather I take in a sharp breath and quickly turn around, crouching down towards the puppy but when my eyes makes direct contact with its own eyes I suddenly remember why I had that feeling of nostalgia.
It's because of Taehyung.
After we both took care of Lu for such a long time and now that I've adopted him, Taehyung always talked about wanting to get a pet dog.
More specifically, a Pomeranian and he always showed me, as well as sent me, countless numbers of Google stock images of a number of Pomeranians.
And the thought of him wanting to adopt a puppy made me super soft and I was in support of his decision but now I can't fathom why in the world there is a Pomeranian out on the loose like this, and it's being mistreated.
But my thoughts are left unsolved when I suddenly feel multiple sharp strokes of pain resonate from my lower back and instantly I know it's the stones being hurled at me.
I bite my lip in order to divert the pain as I quickly try to dig up the puppy out from it's possible death trap. As I remove sand from around it, I feel it's paws brush against my hands and it let's out little barks of relief.
The mere sight of this puppy makes me forget about the stones that's being battered against my back and I quickly stand up.
I feel a few more stones hit and scrape at my bare legs but those scrapes are worth the possible scars if it means saving a life.
But just as I step forward, looking to make my escape with this cute little pup, a sudden voice halts my actions.
"Yah! You sick brats!"
The voice is deep, just as the depths of the vast wide ocean.
And a wave of relief hits me after hearing that voice and I turn around, finally feeling the hard stones hit me no more. As for those three boys, they freeze, dead still, probably finding that voice majorly intimidating.
Nonetheless, my eyes launches straight towards the direction of the voice and a small smile takes over my features when my eyes falls over Taehyung but soon enough my smile fades and it's replaced with a cocked brow when I see him sprinting.
With the puppy in hand, I watch Taehyung run towards the boy's, then when he's a few metres behind the kid with the black hair, he leaps into the air and lands a hard finishing kick against his back which sends him flying into the dust below.
The other two boys still stand frozen but their eyes darts over to their friend that's fallen to the ground and the stones within their grasp falls towards the ground.
"Yah." Taehyung breathes behind them and they shiver in freight. "Is that how you treat women and animals?" He grabs a handful of hair from each boy within either of his hands.
"N-No sir."
"S-Sorry sir."
"If you don't want to end up like your buddy over there..." Taehyung turns their heads towards the boy whose knocked out down on the ground and twitching slightly. "Apologize to Soo Yeong. Now."
"D-Deh." They both mutter in compliance but somehow I feel sorry at the sight since I never liked making or seeing Taehyung so worked up.
Taehyung releases the two boys and they quickly leap over to their friend, balancing him on either of their shoulders and they limp their way towards the sand box which I'm still standing in.
Taehyung, with his hands in his pockets, also makes his way over towards me and he presses for the boys to mutter a word of apology.
"We're sorry Soo Yeong noona." They say, as they bow a couple of times and I look over at Taehyung, who looks annoyed, standing there behind the three boys.
I look back down at the boys as the puppy barks from within my grasp, "Just promise me that you won't do anything like this again."
"D-Deh."
"We promise."
They declare before Taehyung rudely shoes them off and I watch as they run as fast as they can towards the park's exit, without looking back.
Once they're out of sight I turn to look at Taehyung, and before he could speak, I do, "Don't you think that was a bit over the top?"
"No, what they did was wrong Soo Yeong ah~." He whines, inching towards me and his hand snakes around my waist. "They hurt you and I can't stand the sight of it."
My heart softens at his words and Taehyung goes on to hug me but just as his cheek comes close to my own, the little pup barks loudly immediately making Taehyung detach from me and he stares at it with a pout.
"Yah," His voice is soft and his gaze is directed towards the puppy. "Tannie ah~, you caused quite the bit of commotion today."
"Tannie ah~?" I mouth confusedly. "Does that mean you know it's owner?"
"Deh!" He nods his head in confirmation, and a huge boxy smile unravels over his lips, "It's me."
"Uh?" I look at him completely puzzled and in my puzzled state he takes the chance to lift me up bridal style. "Tae ah~?" I mumble, softly.
"Let's get you home and I'll take care of those bruises." He plants a soft kiss over my head as I tighten my hold on Tannie and he makes his way towards the exit of the park but not without my grocer packet.
"Were those stock images really stock images?" I question, looking up at him with a soft pout.
"No." He laughs nervously. "I often went down to the shelter to spend time with him. I wanted to surprise you but I was waiting until the adoption papers were all in order and they finally came through today."
"Really?" I smile brightly and cuddle Tannie even more as Taehyung hums in response. "But how did he end up in the sand box?"
"When the shop owner let him out, he sprinted." Taehyung chuckles sheepishly. "He's not the bashful type that's for sure."
"He's no different from his owner..." I chuckle softly. "The way you sprinted just now would have Usain Bolt shook."
"Yah, Soo Yeong ah~." Taehyung whines cutely and looks down at me. "And I'm sure the way you appeared to Tannie's aid would have Wonder Women shook."
"Aish!" I giggle softly, nestling myself within Taehyung's warm chest. "What would I do without you..."
A warm smile appears over his features due to my words and once again he plants a soft kiss over my head.
"I promise that I'll always be there to protect you Soo Yeong ah~." He says, softly.
A/n: Hey! I finally managed to write up the bonus chapter! I hope you guys like it and I'm sorry if Tae is a bit ooc but I'm pretty sure he'd fight for the one he loves if the opportunity surfaces itself. Anyway!
