Jana paused, her hand resting on the doorknob. You've known him your whole life. He's Uncle Johnny for crying out loud. Although he's not actually your uncle...

Someone opened the door, startling her. "Hi baby girl!" Jana began to grit her teeth but thought again and replaced it with a smile. "Hi Uncle Johnny. How are you?" she said in the most enthusiastic voice she could manage. "I'm great. Just catching up with your mom here. Are you coming from school?" he replied, closing the door behind her. She slid past him into the living room. "Yeah. Hi Mama." she mumbled.

"Hi Mamasita. How was school?" Her mother replied with a thick Latin accent. "Good. They gave us a ton of homework so I have o go get started on that." Jana lied. "Okay. I'll call you for dinner later."

Jana: She said he was just coming for dinner to check on us.

Kayla: That sounds a little suspicious don't you think? 'check on us'

Jayden: Yeah Kayls' right. That's a little weird.

Jana: I tried to tell her. But he's a family friend and I'm a 15 year old girl.

Jayden: Just be careful.

Jana: We're going to dinner with him later.

Kayla: OMG. KEEP US FREAKING POSTED.

Jana: I will. We're leaving. Gotta go.

"Are you okay Jana? You've barely touched your animal fries." Johnny asked. "Yes. Just not hungry." Jana replied. "Jana can you come with me for a minute?" her mom said. She grabbed Jana's arm and pulled her to the bathroom.

"What's wrong mija?" she asked. Jana locked the door. "HOW CAN YOU JUST BE OVER HIM? ITS ONLY BEEN 3 WEEKS." Jana raised her voice. "Jana Gonzalez. DO NOT use that tone with me. And I'm not mija. You're uncle Johnny is just visiting from Canada." her mom said sternly.

"Okay. And another thing. WHY ON THE FLIPPING FACE OF THE EARTH ARE WE AT IN-N-OUT BURGER?" Jana asked. "It's the pride of the west coast. Now lets go eat those animal style burgers and fries." She smiled.
