C13: Better Days

"Do I have to go?" She glanced over her shoulder, hand on the doorknob. "Unfortunately." he smirked. "Ugh. Bye." she replied. He can't go to work, she thought, but I have to go to school. She walked off the porch and let out a puff of air.

"What the-?" Someone hugged her from behind. "Morning." She recognized the voice and spun around. "Jayden!" she squealed, jumping into his arms. "Hi Kayls." he grinned lifting her off the ground. "I didn't think you'd pick me up today." she said when he put her down. They started walking. "And why so, Princess Kayla of The Exaggeration Kingdom?" he replied, smugly. "Shut up," she nudged him with a chuckle, "Prince of Purple Rain. Cause of, y'know, yesterday." " Nice one, princess. Nah, we're good now. At least I'm good with you." he laughed. "Okay."

"Are we good?" Kayla asked shyly. "Of course, Kayla!" Jana grinned. And the three of them walked off to English which they miraculously had together.

After English was lunch. Surprisingly, Jana didn't even glance in Faith's direction no matter how much attention she was trying to attract. It was the first time in years that Jana and Faith hadn't joined each other for lunch. Neither of them seemed to care though. They neither spoke to each other nor glanced in each other's direction.

"Well today was great. And it's not often that I say that but today, was." Kayla said on the way home. "How so, princess?" Jayden asked.

"Well for starters, you picked me up," He smiled. "I got an A on my Journalism test, Jana forgave me and my mom is conscious." she finished. "Wait. What was that last part!?" He looked up from his sneakers. "My mom is awake." she replied. "Kayla! We have to go see her." he squealed like a little girl, surprising Kayla. "Wanna come with me and my dad? He said he'd take me the second I got home." she replied, just as excited. "Uh, duh! Let's go!"
