C1: Crybabies
Hi again! This was originally gonna be posted in my friend Sabrina21403's profile but we decided to publish it here. Hope ya like it!
Kayla Guston was never heard of. Except at Jefferson Middle School where she was the most popular girl in the whole school. She was a good girl. She kept straight A's and was an aspiring actress who also happened to be the president of the drama club. She always got chosen to play the lead role in any school production.
On graduation day, Kayla knew that things were going to change but she never would have guessed they would change as much as they did. Her father Christopher got a job in a town which was a few school districts away. She was leaving the town that had always been home.
The day after graduation, it was moving day. She was almost done packing her last two boxes when she heard a car honking outside. "Kayla! The van's here! Start bringing your boxes down to the terrace. Oh and John, Luigi and Kristi are here to see you.
She picked up a box and started down the stairs. As she approached the terrace, she could hear John and Luigi arguing, as usual. "Need some help?" Asked Kristi, perched on the rail of the Guston's soon-to-be previous terrace. "Nah. I got it. What are those two going at it for this time?" Replied Kayla as she set down the box.
"Who gets you mom's last cinnamon roll" Kristi snorted.
"Why don't they just share anything?"
"Meh. They're twins."
"True." Kayla laughed.
When Luigi and John sorted out the cinnamon roll fiasco, they helped Kristi and Kayla get the rest of her stuff from her bedroom. They exchanged jokes, stories and chit-chat while they worked. Then, it was time to say goodbye. Kristi started to cry but Luigi and John tried to hold their tears in. "Don't ever forget me. If you do I'd slap you." Kristi sniffled. "I wouldn't even dream of it." She replied, as a soft smile spread across her face. They all hugged each other, took a final selfie and then Kayla got in the car. She cried harder as they pulled out of the driveway, not letting her eyes leave Kristi's. As they drove farther down the road, John and Luigi finally let their tears fall.
Kayla rolled down the window. "I love you, you knucleheaded crybabies!"
And with that they turned the corner.
