...I drew Dave again.

He's my favorite character. I can't help it.

I thought about what his costume would look like if he was some kind of superhero or something. That's the top left drawing.

Then I thought he'd look cute in a panda hoodie (he does.)

I feel like I'm slowly getting the hand of these brush tip pens too, so that's good!

It's one of my favorite drawings ever.

This is kind of Dave's journey in my TCW AU:

He starts off as an optimistic policeman, then works as a security guard after getting fired. He almost loses hope during his imprisonment but is saved by Henry&co.

Since the newly formed Jewel Toppats don't have anything to their name yet, Dave has to keep wearing his old uniform, along with some old hat and tie they found in an abandoned Toppat base. Unwilling and skeptical at first he eventually finds his place as a criminal.

He had spent his whole life trying to uphold the law, to help people, to do good. But it always screwed him over. And when he needed help the most he was abandoned. No soldiers came to save him, no rescue team was sent.

Instead, he was saved by criminals. People he had thought of as nothing but evil and malicious. They took him in and accepted him as one of their own. He was done being a victim and they taught him how to be a predator.

As the Jewel Toppat Clan grew in size and actually rivaled the Rose Toppats, Dave enjoyed the power he had. They were making their own justice. No one would ever take his freedom away again. He was Toppat with soul and heart.

...Until he saw that soldier, that he'd once called a friend.
