AU: Dream Eater

Context: Dream Eaters can often experience a side effect of consuming a very large amount of the same energies from multiple dreams, which makes them feel and act like those energies. This is an example of Sabre going through that side effect.

I just realized that can make Dream Eater!Sabre a living show of results on a Realm-wide vibe check-

[3rd Person POV]

Sabre exited the house with a smile, quickly looking around the Hub for a moment before spotting Rainbow playing with Gerald by the statue.

He excitedly ran over, smiling brightly. Rainbow waved at him and motion for him to sit down beside him, which Sabre did so by sliding on the ground as he approached, stopping at his friend's side.

"Sabre, careful! You're gonna rip your clothes!" Rainbow laughs as Sabre brushes dirt off his pants.

"Don't care, can always fix 'em. Good morning!" Sabre replies. He shifts into an actual sitting position, crossing his legs.

"For someone that doesn't sleep, you sure start your mornings late." Rainbow jokes, petting Gerald between the ears.

"What can I say, you mortals make really comfy domains. Can't help but wanna stay in bed a bit longer." Sabre chuckles. "Anyway, what's up? Got any plans for today? If you don't can we go on another adventure that won't be interrupted this time?"

"Wow, you are wired today! Something happen?" Rainbow says, caught off guard by Sabre's sudden energy.

"Ah, sorry about that! Just a side effect of being a Dream Eater. Ever since people have heard about you becoming- y'know, Rainbow, there's been a huge amount of really good dreams! Like, happy ones. And I visited as many as I could! And there were a lot! Which means a lot of really good energy. And it kinda spreads to me!"

Sabre laughs and lets himself fall over onto his side, which quickly turns into him lying on his stomach while propping his head up with his hands, bright smile still on his face. Rainbow is caught off guard once again, by both Sabre's antics and the reason why he's acting like that.

"Wait, people are having good dreams because of me? They're just that happy?" He asks.

"You just have that effect on people dude, dunno what to tell ya." Sabre shrugs. "Ooh, what if we visit the Orange Village today? They'll probably be so excited to see you! Plus Happy said he was gonna start a community garden today and we were welcome to join if we wanted."

"That could be fun! I would have to do that fake voice though..." Rainbow replies, thinking. He then looks back at Sabre when he moves again, this time rolling over and laying on his back, looking up at him.

"True. We don't have to do that if you don't want, then! We could also just go pick flowers again since last time that party got crashed. Or we could just go explore somewhere and see what we find! Or do some kind of project here. Oh, maybe we could go to the ocean and look at coral reefs! You can gather some pufferfish while we're there and we could get stuff to decorate the river. Or go fishing! Or I could show you how to fight an Elder Guar- wait no that'd be dangerous for you, you're mortal. Ooh, we could-"

"Okay, we could do a lot of those things today, but first;" Rainbow interrupts, laughing, and quickly covering his friend's mouth so he can talk. "We should do something to get you to spend some of that energy! You need to chill!"

Sabre laughs and moves Rainbow's hand away.

"Aw c'mon, you have barely any chill all the time!"

"Yeah well- usually you have the chill and I'm not used to this!"

"Well you might have to get used to it, maybe I'm stuck like this."

"You better not be!"

They both laugh, Gerald giving them a judging look. Sabre quickly taps Rainbow on the head and runs off, Rainbow following him in the new sudden game of tag.
