The blond Brit bounded up the stairs of building 221, and reached flat B. He firmly grasped the knocker and knocked twice.
"Who's that?" Sherlock said from behind the thick door. "Everyone usually walks in."
"Well it's probably Arthur, he emailed me earlier." John said opening the door greeting Arthur.
"Arthur, here come in. Sherlock is working on a case at the moment-"
"Really? How exhilarating!" Arthur responded.
"Yeah," John said trying to thwart the advancements Sherlock was obviously making, with the sparkling interest in his eye when Arthur said he thought the case was exciting. "Why don't we-"
"Bring him along to the locations That are left to investigate, and I must say most conspicuous." Sherlock cut in.
"Sherlock." John said in a disapproving tone shaking his head. "Why don't you go on your own? Don't you miss that? Besides I wanted to catch up with Arthur."
"Why don't we ask him." Sherlock says turning to face Arthur.
Arthur smiles. "That, even as great as it sounds, I am going to have to decline the offer. I did promise John to catch up on our lost time. Perhaps next time?"
"Alright." Sherlock says, admitting defeat too easily. Of course he already had his sights set on figuring out this new character Arthur. After all he could find out more about him with John there drawing him out.
That and, even though he didn't want to admit it, Arthur seemed, interesting.
"Ok then, lets get going." John said grabbing his coat and walking out of the flat.
Arthur smiled and nodded to the dark haired man, before also taking his leave.
Leaving Sherlock to gather his things before setting out on his case, alone.

Sherlock with his hands deep within his coat pockets, struts through the front doors of the linden restaurant. And continues right on through the kitchen doors.
"Sir! Sir! You can't be back here!" A worker in a suit shouts running after him.
"Actually, I believe I can. Sherlock Holmes, consulting detective. I'm investigating the recent murder."
"The one on the news? What about it? What does it have to do with us!?"
"The victim was Emily Bennett, a health inspector whom gave you a poor review before the untimely demise. And since your establishment was incompetent enough not to email me back on the matter, I have taken the responsibility upon myself to come down here personally and investigate."
Sherlock takes a few more steps into the kitchen, before the man steps in front of him. "But Mr.Holmes, you still can not investigate the premises without a permit!"
"Oh sure, let me go get that, and why don't I alert the press while I'm at it. I wonder what exactly the tabloids will have to say about it?"
The man shudders at the threat, the detective would no doubt go through with.

Arthur and John were at the pub currently, courtesy of John. Each man with his own choice of food.
"So how did you even find a flatmate like him?" Arthur asked.
"Through a friend. He's really not that bad of a guy once you get to know him, and get past his superiority complex."
Arthur chuckled. "I understand, he almost reminds me of one of my friends. Means well, but can be, unnerving."
"Precisely." John chuckled taking a sip of his drink. "So how's your brothers?"
Arthur shifted in his seat before looking up again. He had almost forgotten that he had talked quite a bit about with family with John before. "Oh, as annoying as usual, and actually my older brother Allistor is coming down from Scotland for a visit.
"Allistor, he was the one who raised you and your brothers after your mother passed away?"
"Y-Yes, he certainly was." Arthur managed to say before taking a sip of his drink. Once he swallowed he looked back up at John. "So, what kind of case is Sherlock working on currently?"
John nodded, rolling his eyes. "As you know from the blog, he tends to take interest in homicide cases."
"The one on the news?" Arthur asked.
John nodded. "Yeah, and Sherlock seems more involved in this then he has in ones previous."
"Strange, any particular reason?"
"Not that I can tell. Maybe it's just me. I just don't want him to overwork himself." John said shrugging.
Arthur laughed. "You always are looking out for others."
This comment made the blue eyed Brit smile.
