It's been about five months sense Holly and Steven first met and the two have gotten really close. One time, they went to Funland and Steven left to get drinks but came back to a guy flirting with Holly, which she was not having that. Steven just used his powers to float over, pick Holly up, and fly over to the beach to avoid that guy. He was a little protective but Holly didn't mind it. She thought it was cute. After landing on the beach, the two had their drinks and hung out on the beach.

Another time while during a thunder storm, Steven had a nightmare sleeping but Holly went over and cuddled with him. She sang him a little lullaby that would put him to sleep. Now, whenever he had trouble sleeping, Holly would sing the lullaby. She trusted him very much to sing to him. She didn't like her singing voice, saying it was bad, but Steven would disagree and tell it's the most amazing voice he's heard!

Steven also found out about Holly's past and it wasn't a good one. Apparently, her family got into a car crash. Her three siblings died while her and her father survived but her father had brain damage and Holly basically had to take care of him. But then he died. But before he did, he told her to go to Beach City, where other gems lived and died. She immediately went there after that.

Steven would be her shoulder to cry on or her 'teddy bear', as she called him, if she was ever feeling down. Holly would do the same thing for Steven and she would tell him if he ever needed help, she would help him. Sometimes, they would kind of argue who had the worst past but it would just end with hugs.

They would spend days together, either singing a little duet or taking a walk around town. Holly's also gotten along with the Gems and Connie as well. Steven was also really glad that Holly and Connie got along. Holly and Connie would talk about some smart stuff that Steven would have no idea what they were talking about. Holly would usually talk about girl stuff with Connie because Holly isn't really a hundred percent sure with human stuff, being half gem and all, but she knew more about human stuff than Steven.

She would go to Little Homeworld to help Bismuth, Lapis, and Peridot with some construction but also to hang out with them. Holly would help Bismuth with some welding stuff, Holly and Lapis would talk and say some art advice, even making a little group called 'Back Gems', and then Holly would help Peridot with her plants but also talk about Camp Pining Hearts when Holly heard Peridot knew about the show.

Pearl taught her how to use her gem weapon, which was an ax. Even though Gems don't have to fight anymore, Holly wanted to learn just in case. Holly would also ask about some health aid, like what to do in case something bad were to happen and someone was hurt. She wanted to be prepared.

Amethyst would be her chill buddy, they would hang if Steven was busy. They would play video games together, eat junk food, sing, dance, or talk. Holly would talk with Amethyst about girl stuff with Amethyst sense she couldn't really talk about that stuff with Steven. Amethyst wasn't really much help because she wasn't a human to know much girl stuff about humans but she would help however she can. Holly would ask Amethyst that stuff if Connie was busy.

Holly would sometimes ask Garnet for advice on how to be a good friend. Holly's never had a friend sense middle school and she's sixteen now! Holly would also help Garnet with some stuff around the house like doing some laundry or doing the dishes. Holly also met Ruby and Sapphire, and she thought they were so cute!

But Holly would also ask Garnet, some love advice because she's been feeling very weird around Steven lately, getting all flustered when Steven would give her a hug or her heart would pound when she heard Steven sing. Little did Holly know is that Steven would ask Garnet the same thing. Steven would be very protective when Holly would be training with Pearl or he would also want to make her happy when she was sad.

Everyone would question how close they were and ask if they were a thing, but they would just say that they were really close friends! Even that left a bad taste in their mouths. Once they both knew they loved each other, they were shocked. They were finally glad that what they were feeling had a name, but they wanted to make sure not to tell the other. They didn't know how the other was gonna react! Holly would keep it a secret, but that wouldn't stop her from being the best damn friend she could be to Steven. Steven would keep it a secret as well, but that kind of made him a bit more protective and more affectionate in a friendly way.

Right now, Holly was making some breakfast for the two while Steven walked downstairs with a yawn.

"Steven! Something up? You aren't usually up this early." Holly said.

"Well, I've got a busy day today." He said, sitting down at the table. "I've got to meet with the Diamonds in Homeworld to send out a message all over the universe to show that it's actually Era 3. After that, you and I have to say goodbye to Connie who is going to space camp, then I have to go check on the process in Little Homeworld, and then after that, Sadie Killer and the Suspects are doing a rock show that my dad is helping out and that I want to take you to see. W-Well, if you want to come with me."

Holly blushed at the last part.

"Of course I'll come with you. Besides, that whole schedule sounds long and tiring. Mind if I just help you with everything?" Holly asked.

"Well, I appreciate your concern, but I'm not sure about you going to Homeworld." Steven said.

"Why's that?" Holly asked, putting the food on two plates.

"The Diamonds can maybe be a bit... pushy?" Steven asked, trying to think of the right word.

"I can handle it. I had to deal with living in a loud, noisy, city my whole childhood and you didn't." Holly said, setting the two plates on the table and sitting down next to Steven.

"Well, I had to deal with a planet that was out to get me because my mom and you didn't." Steven said.

"I had to deal with my siblings dying, and I had to do everything for my father every single day. You didn't."

"I actually had almost died more times than I can count on my fingers because everyone thought I was my mom and they wanted to kill my mom. You didn't."

"God, it's so good to hang out with you." Holly said, chuckling. "Now, let's eat so we can start this day together."

"Yeah. Together." Steven said to himself with a smile.

After breakfast and Steven getting ready for the day, the two were about to go before getting a call from Connie, saying she was gonna come over so she could say goodbye before she went to space camp. Steven told her he had to do this message with the Diamonds so Connie said she could go to Steven's house and wait until they came back. After the phone call, the two gem hybrids then warped off to Homeworld and to the Diamonds' castle. The Diamonds were on their thrones while Yellow Pearl and Blue Pearl were getting ready to broadcast Steven's message.

"Steven! You're here!" White Diamond said, looking down at him.

"Hi, White, Blue, Yellow." Steven said.

Holly kind of hid behind Steven because she didn't expect them to be so...well, tall.

"Is that another one of your Earth friends?" Blue asked.

"Yeah. This is Holly." Steven said.

"Hello." Holly waved, shyly.

"She's a gem hybrid like me." Steven said.

The Diamonds were taken back by this but were curious.

"Another gem hybrid?" Yellow asked.

"What kind of gem?" Blue asked.

"I-It's a Spinel gem. An orange one though, on my back." Holly said.

"Well, that seems rare. There's only been one Spinel gem but she's disappeared a long time ago." Yellow said.

"Well, there used to be others but we only needed one. But that was in the past. We're happy to see another gem hybrid like Steven." White said with a smile.

"Um, we're ready." Blue Pearl said, rather quietly.

"Awesome!" Steven said and walked over to a pink throne that looked to be his size.

Holly then stood over by Yellow Pearl to not be in the way. Holly gave Steven a thumbs up and Steven gave her one back. Blue Pearl then started to broadcast for the message.

White then picked up a book that was big enough for her to hold as Yellow, Blue, and Steven looked up at her.

"Once upon a time, the Gem Homeworld was ruled by Diamonds. White, Yellow, Blue, and the littlest Diamond, Pink. While the other Diamonds conquered many worlds across the galaxy, Pink had only one. The planet Earth. One day, Pink fled the comforts of Homeworld. On Earth, she made a new home, new friends, and finally, new life, giving up her form to bequeath her gem to her half-human son. Without Pink, Gemkind entered an era of despair. But, when Steven Universe learned of his heritage, he reunited with his fellow Diamonds and championed a new era of peace and freedom across the furthest reaches of space." White explained, reading through the book and then closed it. "And now, dear Gems everywhere, I'm pleased to announce that Steven is finally ready to take his rightful place on Pink Diamond's throne!"

The camera then panned down to Steven and Steven turned around, looking at the camera.

"How's it going, everybody?" Steven asked. "I know you might be thinking of me as the new Pink Diamond, but you don't have to put me on a throne. I already have a rightful place, and it's on Earth."

The Diamonds then leaned forward in their thrones in surprise.

"It's a beach house, where I live with my friends, Garnet, Amethyst, Holly and Pearl. As much as I loved dismantling the empire and saving all of your planets, I can't wait to get home and spend some quality time with my friends." Steven said, a big smile on his face.

White, being very shocked, looked at the Pearls.

"Cut the feed." She said.

"Your time is up anyway." Yellow Pearl said while Blue Pearl snickered. Yellow Pearl then shutdown the broadcast and Blue Pearl pulled the camera away.

Holly then went over to Steven and smiled. The two gem hybrids them looked up at the Diamonds.

"We think that went well." Steven said.

The Diamonds then got up from their thrones and looked down at the two.

"Steven, please." White said.

"You can't go." Yellow said.

"You must stay!" Blue said.

"You're all we have left of Pink." White said and then kneels down, her knees on the ground. "Steven, you belong here with us."

"Uh..." Steven looked at Holly but then up at the Diamonds. "Thanks.. but no thanks."

The Diamonds then started to sing.

"Come live with us in the palace,

There's a room waiting for you."

"Come on..." -Y

"Come on..." -B

"Come on..." -W

"Just let us adore you."

The Diamonds kneels down to them and Steven and Holly backed up from them.

"You guys have really gotten better at showing affection, but I've got my own life to get back to." Steven said, getting the two onto the warp pad. "Don't forget, I'm not Pink Diamond."

The Diamonds bent down to get close to the two which cause the two gem hybrids to fall over, Steven putting a protective arm in front of Holly.

"Yes, we know that you're not her,

But you were hers."

Steven chuckled nervously.

"You know what it meant to love her,

And you remind us so much of her."

"Thanks, but Holly and I gotta go." Steven said.

"But Steven!" The Diamonds exclaimed, laying down by the warp pad to try and be to Steven and Holly's level but they were too tall.

"I've disbanded my armies! I've liberated my colonies!" Yellow exclaimed.

"I never shatter. I never make anyone cry." Blue said.

"I've been saying 'please' and 'thank you', even to lower life forms." White said.

"What did we talk about?" Steven asked, helping himself and Holly up as he looked up at White. He also held Holly's hand.

"Ugh, equal life forms. Steven, we've done everything you've asked!" White said.

"That's great! Good job! Keep it up! Bye!" Steven said and then the two gem hybrids warped away on the warp pad.

"Wow. You were right. They are... pushy." Holly said to Steven as they warped home.
