I step up to Peridot. I want to kiss her. But I can't. The past only continues to eat me alive even more. What's going to happen next? Peridot looks over at me and she smiles. "Oh. Hey, Ame." I give her a weak smile.

She looks over at the hill where Lapis and Jasper are communicating. "Well, they're getting along. Maybe we really can be together. Wouldn't you like that?" I notice Eyeball pacing in the fields as I frown.

"Amethyst?" I look back over at her. She's no longer smiling. "Is something wrong?" I sigh. "Peri, I don't know if I can hang out with you anymore. Not like this."
"Why not?"

"It's...I don't know. Maybe I just lost the enthusiasm." Peridot raises an eyebrow. "Enthusiasm?" I look down. "Yeah." I notice a smirk appear on her face. "Hey, Ame, why not come with me to...oh...I don't know. Someplace fun?" The way she just said that.

That doesn't sound right. She's sweating and she's scratching the back of her neck. A clear indication that something's up. She clears her throat. "Uh, come with me. Let's go for a walk." She smiles.

I look back at Eyeball one last time before I take Peridot's hand. We walk over to the warp pad as I raise my eyebrow. "Uh, Peri? Beach City is underwater." Peridot snickers.

"Beach City?! Why would we go there?! We're going to someplace you may find a bit more...interesting." "Oookay?" I step onto the warp pad and Peridot warps us away. She's still sweating. Maybe it's just me. She's probably just nervous.

We appear at...an alley? "Jersey?"
"Y-Yeah. Why not? Lapis showed me around this place once." She steps off the warp pad. I look around with suspicion. I watch carefully as Peridot strolls through the alley.

I catch up with her. I remember alleys. I've been down them a few times and I would always see the excessive smoke or broken glass on the ground. But I never cared about that.

None of that has phased me in the slightest...until now. I feel so much like Pearl right now. She was always disgusted and timid whenever she's around places such as this. "Alright, Peridot. What's going on?"

Peridot stops and turns around. "Ame, relax. You said you wanted to have some fun. So we came to a place that was more like you." Another comment that made me crack on the inside. Thanks, life.

I feel myself shaking. I take a few slow breaths as we walked through the alley. Why do I feel so nervous and scared of this place? Is it because of the past? The possibilities of what could happen here? Is it all just me?

Peridot knocks on a door. I gulp. Peridot looks back at me. "Ame, are you okay? You look a bit...pale." I squeeze my arm. "I-I'm fine! Just g-go on ahead!" The door opens and I look away.

"Uh...can I help you?" The guy behind me has a deep voice. He sounds a bit suspicious himself. "Hi! I'm Peridot. And this beautiful Gem here is my girlfriend, Amethyst." I hear a chuckle.

"Of course. What do you two want?" I hear whispering. I then hear snickering from both of them. "Come inside and I'll hook you two up with something."
"Come on, Ame!" I turn around and I step inside.

Peridot turns around again as the door closes. "Ame, why don't you go sit down for a bit and cool off? I'll go get us some drinks. You know, water." "Or gingerale." Peridot snickers at his comment. "Right. I'll be back in five."

She walks off and I facepalm. "Peridot, what are you up to?" I then spot Eloc leaning against the wall to my left. He chuckles and I feel myself getting colder. "Care for a drink, Amethyst?" I gulp.

"Please go away. Why are you here?" He looks over at me. "Well, that's for you to figure out. Now if I were you, I suggest that you just give in to it." "Why do you care?"
"Because I just think you two are so adorable together." I blush.

"Care to see what happens next? You might like it. However, you may just become oblivious towards your reality if you do. I'll just find it all the more...pleasurable to watch." He laughs as he fades away.
