The boat stops at the shoreline. Peridot stops the motor and everything goes silent. I look back at her as she jumps off the boat. "So, what do you want to do first?" I turn away from her.

"I need to go do something. See ya." I walk off towards the barn. The doors are closed. "Oh geez." I tense up a bit. I remember the nightmare I recently had. Something bad could be inside.

I take a deep breath. I open the barn door and I step inside. I hear something crack. I gulp. That doesn't sound good. "Please, go away." "Eyeball?" I keep walking in the room. Finally, I notice her sitting in the corner.

She has her chisel out. I fear the worst. I look into Eyeball's gem and I notice a few dents and cracks. I gasp and I cough. Pretty much due to gasping way too many times.

I run over to her as she attempts to drive the weapon into her gem again. I catch the weapon and she coughs. She looks over at me and she glares. "What are you doing here?"

"Why are you doing this?" She sighs. "What you did earlier scared me. I fell in love with you." Her voice shakes. "I saved your life mutiple times! I sang a song for you! I stood up for you! And then, you put me down like I was nothing."

"That's no excuse for you to shatter yourself." She grits her teeth. "You really think that it was just THIS ONE THING!" She slams down her chisel and she sobs.

"You don't know me! You said it yourself!" I sit down next to Eyeball. "You're hurt." I feel through her bruises and cuts. "I fought Bismuth." "What happened?"

"While you were gone, I went into a bit of a rage. I really thought that we were never going to see each other again. Bismuth was cleaning up. She was talking with Jasper about you. She was talking dirt about you!"

"What did she say?"
"I don't know what made her think like that but she said that if you wanted to get shattered, then you should be shattered. So I went up to her and I just lashed out at her."

Eyeball winces as I feel through a certain cut. "We had an argument which escalated into a fight. I was just so upset. I threw a chisel at her and then she hammered me down."
"Did Jasper do anything?"

"She left. She didn't even watch the fight."
"Where did the cuts come from?"
"Her shapeshifting. She was trying to poof me, calling me a rogue uppercrust for confronting her. She got a few close hits. She really got me good on certain parts."

I rub an arm and she winces. "After the fight, she threw me into this corner and slammed the door shut, leaving me alone to suffer." I look away. "How long has it been?"
"I don't know."

"Okay. So four experiences? I have like thirteen reasons I should die!"
"But didn't the first one destroy you enough?"
"Yes...and no. Eyeball, I'm gonna be very honest with you for a second."

I put an arm around her. "I wanted to die just for the sake of being made. Because I'm a virus to this planet. I'm defective and I'm ugly." Eyeball looks over at me. She smiles. "Ugly?! Amethyst, you're flipping beautiful!"

I blush and I chuckle. "Look, I care about you too, alright?" My smile drops. "Please, I lost Pearl and I just killed Steven."
"Wait a minute! You mean that kid who tricked me and my platoon?"

"Yeah. We used to be family. We used to be members of the Crystal Gems." "The Crystal Gems? Look, I heard about you guys before. Or at least your original army. I heard that Jasper came back to Earth and that's why I went on that mission."

"Huh?"
"I know why Jasper came back." "What?"
"She came back for closure. To fight Rose Quartz. I came down here to find her...and bring her to justice." I gulp as I clutch my stomache.

"Eyeball, Steven...was Rose Quartz." Eyeball's eye widens. "HIM?! HE WAS ROSE QUARTZ?! THAT CAN'T BE! AND YOU KILLED HIM?!"
"Yeah. Rose is gone." I tear up as Eyeball pulls me in for a kiss on the lips.

I immediately shove her away. "EXCUSE ME?!" I abruptly get up. Eyeball covers her face as she turns scarlet. "I-I'M S-SO S-SORRY!" Tears stream down my face. "THIS ISN'T A GOOD THING!"

Eyeball facepalms. "HOW DARE YOU EVEN-! HOW COULD YOU-!" I stomp the ground, breaking a wooden plank. "I KILLED SOMEONE! HOW IS THAT A GOOD THING?!" Eyeball removes her hands and she looks up at me. "You mean, you didn't just shatter him?"

I shake me head. "I killed him with my bare hands!" My voice trembles. "And you praise me like...Eloc." Eyeball raises an eyebrow. "You're just like Eloc! You like murder?! Murder is horrible! It's unforgivable and I was the one who did it!"

I point outside. "When Ruby and Sapphire come back, they're going to have my neck! Steven isn't a criminal! He was like a brother to me! How would you feel if I shattered you and someone else praised me for it?!"

Eyeball turns away. "I'm sorry. I had no idea." I start walking out of the barn. "What do you care about more? Me or Steven's death?"
"Both!"
"Then you shouldn't care about either." I slam the door shut behind me.
