Once I break out of the surface of the ocean, something grabs me. I feel myself getting picked up. I gasp as I land onto the boat. I look up, choking out water for the umpteenth time.

"Lapis." There she is standing in front of me. But she doesn't look the same anymore. She's no longer wearing her blue dress. Instead, she wears a pair of jeans with a white tank top.

I take a deep breath before I speak to her. "So, Earth clothes, huh?"
"What do you think?" I smile. "Well, I'm kinda digging it I'm not gonna lie." She smiles down at me. "Yeah, it's for Steven."

My smile immediately drops. "Lapis?" "Yes, Amethyst?"
"He's...he's..." I can't even take it anymore. I feel cold, paralyzed, and dead. Lapis frowns. "Amethyst, are you okay?"

I chuckle and then I respond as my voice shakes. "Okay. Okay?" My left eye starts twitching. I clutch my stomache. "I am everything BUT OKAY RIGHT NOW!" I scream as I yank my hair.

Lapis sits down next to me as I continue screaming. "Amethyst, please, calm down! You're getting yourself all worked up!"
"Just...shatter me." Lapis' eyes widen at my comment.

"Sh-Shatter you?!" She sounds scared. "Wha-Why?!" I laugh an angry, hysterical laugh. "YOU KNOW WHY! I FUSED WITH A DEMON! I SHATTERED PEARL! I LOST MY PRIVACY!

"I SAVED JASPER AND I FAILED! I SEDUCED PERIDOT AND I NEARLY FELL INTO THE MESS!" I huff and I puff, losing my sanity. "BUT THAT'S NOT ALL! I ALSO SAVED BISMUTH! I POOFED YOU!

"WHICH COSTS THE DEATH OF HUNDREDS OF INNOCENT LIVES! I EVEN KILLED YOUR ONE AND ONLY FRIEND! I KILLED STEVEN!" Lapis doesn't glare. She just covers her mouth.

She looks away. "I'm a monster, Lapis. Just end my suffering!"
"No." I look at her, speechless. "N-No?! I...I...don't understand." Peridot breaks the surface of the water and she climbs onto the boat, gasping.

She sits next to me and she starts massaging my shoulders. She whispers in my ear. "Breathe." I close my eyes and I take deep breaths. Once I calm down, Lapis sighs.

Peridot stops and she faces Lapis. "Lapis." Lapis waves her down. "It's okay. I lost a bet. You can be with Amethyst for a week." Peridot raises an eyebrow. "Bet?" Lapis nods. "Loser gives up their girlfriend for a week."

I shake my head. "No, Lapis. I cheated and I shouldn't have. Please, just take her back." Lapis shakes her head. She clears her throat. "Peri, can I talk with Amethyst for a second?"

Peridot looks around. "Uh...where would I go?"
"Just start up the motor and let's start heading back."
"Okay." Peridot pulls on the cord at the back of the boat. She pulls again and again until the motor starts running.

"You guys can go to the front." "Thanks." Lapis and I crawl over to the front as Peridot works with the steering handle. "Amethyst?"
"What?"
"You need this. Just take her for a week."

"I can't. Not after everything that I did."
"But I want you to be happy."
"Says the Gem that insulted me and my past a couple days ago." Lapis facepalms. "Look, I'm sorry, alright?"

I tear up. "You really hurt my feelings. You knew. I was just crying, wishing that I could no longer exist. And now here you are trying to make up for what you did by just simply apologizing." I fold my arms.

"Amethyst, I was terrible to you. I was terrible to everyone. Except for the Ruby but that's besides the point." I cover my face. "Eyeball. She loved me. I should go make amends with her."

"You could at least apologize for putting her down like that." I look down. "Lapis?"
"Yes, Amethyst?"
"I don't know if I even love anyone anymore."

"Well, um, you could at least apologize to Eyeball. You guys can still be best friends you know. You were just angry. Just go up to her and apologize. Maybe one day, she'll give you a second chance."
"So what should I do in the meantime?"

"You can hang out with Peri. But please be careful. Doing anything reckless could hurt her. Maybe even destroy her. As for me, I'm going to make amends with Jasper."
I smile. "She would like that. But are you sure that you're okay with all of this?"

"Eh, I can't hold a grudge." We notice the barn nearby. "We're almost home. Good luck, Amethyst." Lapis pats my back. She gets up as water wings pop out of her gem. She jumps and she flies off.
