Okay this is not a theory (maybe just a little) but more of a little worry fest for Steven.

I'm getting really worried about Steven. Like really, how old is he? Fourteen? Maybe fifteen now. He would be a freshman/ sophomore in highschool. God, he's going through some stuff. Like really. He's trying to save the world, but at the same time he's fighting a force that his mother could beat.

And his mother only shattered one of them. With a  full army. What does Steven have? Pearl, Garnet, Amethyst, Lapis, Peridot, Connie, and Lion.

And he's fighting two Diamonds. Like, really, what are the chances that he'll win?

There have been many signs in the show that Steven doesn't see Rose Quartz as a mother figure as much as a standard. He has to be just as good as Rose, just as strong, just as smart. Multiple times, Steven has to remind the Crystal Gems "I'm not my mom! I'm me! And I'm sorry that mom's not here!" Really...That's a little scary, knowing that they still look up to him as someone that he isn't anymore, and a person that he never was.

And many times on the show, he says "I'm not Rose Quartz". He doesn't say "I'm not mom." because a mom was something he never really had, and he doesn't feel that connection. He feels distant to Rose, and she's terrifying. She's something that Steven has to be, or else everyone and everything will die.

He doesn't know how to rise up to that level.

Anyway that was just me worrying about my smol son. What do you guys think, and what do you think Steven's greatest worry is?
