Therapy (Part 2)
Same warnings apply.
-Third Person POV-
<the next day>
Steven was asleep in his room as Pearl came out of hers, walking out of the house as quietly as she could. She walked to where Sadie works, enjoying the nice morning. When she walks in, she's greeted by a cheerful voice.
"Hey there, Pearl! What can I do for ya?" Sadie says, smiling. Pearl smiles a little back. "Hello, Sadie. I'm here about Steven." she answers, and Sadie's face falls a little. "Poor kid, what's up with him?"
"Well, he's agreed to go to therapy, and I was wondering if your partner Shep would be interested in doing that?" Pearl says. "Shep? I'm sure they'd love to, they like being able to help others! Give me your number and I'll text you later to let you know what they say." Sadie says.
Pearl nods, writing down her number for Sadie and handing it to her before saying 'goodbye' and heading back home. By the time she did, Steven was awake and making himself some breakfast.
"Morning, Pearl. Where were you?" He asks. "Oh, just out and about. What has you up so early?" Pearl asks. "Oh, habit I suppose. I mean, I got a decent 8 hours of sleep, so I should be fine." Steven replies.
-Pearl's POV-
"Well, Sadie said she'd talk to Shep about therapy for you." I tell him. He gets a slightly unsettled expression at that. "Great.. Yeah.." He says, eating his breakfast. I frown. "Steven, I'm doing this to help you- you agreed to it, remember?" I say, sitting next to him.
He sighs. "I don't need help! I'm just... Doing this to make you feel better.. I know I agreed to it but that doesn't mean I need it."
"Steven, you do need help; we've all seen your outbursts-" I say. "They're not outbursts!!" He shouts. I stay quiet. Maybe I shouldn't have phrased it that way.
"Okay... Then you're just stressed about something- even if you're not, healthy people go to therapy too!" I tell him. His glow doesn't go away; he just continues eating quietly.
I sigh. "Regardless, Sadie said she'd contact me when Shep replies to her." I tell him as he finishes eating. "Yeah, okay Pearl." He mumbles, about to wash his plate.
"Steven, maybe that's not a good idea-" I say carefully. He groans. "I can wash dishes, Pearl!" He shouts at me. "O-okay.." I say, walking away and going to my room.
-Steven's POV-
I don't want to push Pearl away, but... I don't exactly want to admit that I'm not okay to her, either. I wash my plate and put it away.
I took a breath and headed out into town. I had no objective other than to walk around, or maybe check on Little Homeschool or visit Lapis, Peridot, and Bismuth.
Maybe out of habit, I find myself walking by the donut shop. I miss when Sadie and Lars worked there... I miss Sadie and Lars. Sure, I can visit Lars whenever I want, but... I don't know, I just miss them..
"Yo, Steven!" Kiki says behind me. I turn around and smile a little. "Oh, hey Kiki.." I say. "What are you doing in town? I don't see you often man!" She says happily. "Oh, yeah.. I dunno, I just, get caught up in things... You know.."
Kiki frowns a little. "Hey, are you okay? The last time I saw you.." She says. "Don't remind me!.." I say quickly. "O..kay.. Sorry Steven. Anyways, you wanna hang out or something?" She asks.
"... I- sure, why not?" I figure maybe this can take my mind off things. See, Pearl? I don't need therapy. I'm fine.

When I get home, Pearl was in the living room. "Oh, Steven, there you are! Sadie just told me that Shep agreed to it; next week on Monday is your first session, okay?" She says. I sigh quietly to myself. "Let's make it the last.."
"Steven, come on.. It'll help you-" She says, but that just... Made me so angry. "I don't need help!! I don't need any of what you're trying to do for me!! Look, I appreciate that you care about me, but I'm not.. Mental! I'm fine!!"
"Steven, please calm down..-" She says, taking a step back.
-Third Person POV-
"Just shut up!!" Steven shouts, slicing his hand through the air. This causes a wave of power to burst out from him, knocking Pearl back and off her feet. She winces a little. "Steven.." She says, making him realize what just happened. He turns back to normal from being pink and covered his mouth.
"Pearl, I'm so sorry, I didn't mean to-!" He starts, but Pearl holds a hand up as she gets back on her feet. "Don't apologize, Steven. But please, please talk about anything next week, okay..?"
Steven sighs. "Okay Pearl.. I'm sorry.." he says, going to his room. Pearl sighs. "You're lucky I'm not a human.." She mumbles, walking outside and holding where she was hit.
"Yo, P! What happened to you?" Amethyst asks, holding pizza in her hand. Pearl shook her head. "Nothing, Amethyst." She says, moving her hand.
"Pearl. What happened." Amethyst asks more seriously. "I just.. Something hit me is all, it's fine. I didn't poof, so calm down."
"Was.. Did Steven..?" Amethyst says, as if realizing the situation. Pearl looks away. "I'm fine." She insists, though not directly answering Amethyst's question.
Pearl walks away, leaving Amethyst alone.
