-Steven's POV-

I ran. I ran as far away as I possibly could - though, my pink form did help, granting me super speed.

I can't believe I hurt Connie. I was supposed to protect her from harm!! I never knew I'd have to protect her from myself...
I got lost in thought and ended up running into something- no, someone. I fall to the ground and look up, only to see Jasper there looking at me.

"What's got you so glowy and speedy, punk?" she says, plucking grass from the ground. I try to ignore her and walk away, but she grabs my arm.
"Don't walk away! I asked you a question, answer it!" she says, making me tear up a little. My pink form went away too.

"I hurt Connie!" I say, and Jasper drops me. I stay on the floor this time. "Isn't Connie your human? That one you fused with?" she asks, though she doesn't seem mad.
"Yes..." I say. "And you hurt her?" she asks. ".... Yes..." I repeated.

-Jasper's POV-

The kid helped me. I never asked for it, but he did. I guess the least I could do is somewhat return the favor.

I roll my eyes and sigh, leaning against a nearby tree. "How?" I ask, crossing my arms and looking at the sky.
"Wh-what?" he whimpers, looking up at me with teary eyes. "How did you hurt her? What did you do?" I ask him, glancing at him from the side.

"Why do you care..." he asks, pushing himself off the ground. "Just answer me."
"... My powers... I turned pink and she was too close to me... I sent her crashing into a rock... She could have broken her skull...." He explained.

I stay quiet for a moment. "What got you so rialed up anyways? Aren't your powers linked to your petty human emotions?" I ask. "Yeah, they are.."
"Why didn't you just heal her?" I ask.

"I tried on the way to her mom's house, but it wasn't working..." he says, before being interrupted by a voice in the distance.
"Steven!!" It sounded like Lapis and that Peridot I worked with.

Steven jumps. "I have to go!" he says, running off.

-Steven's POV-

As I was running, I slipped and fell into a lake. I bubbled myself before I landed, and decided to stay down here.

I sigh and sit down in my bubble as it grows smaller around me. At least I can hide from anyone down here... For a bit...

At least that's what I thought.

-Lapis's POV-

Pearl called Bismuth and told her that Steven ran away, but she was trapped with the others and Bismuth was busy, so Peridot and I came to find him.

I thought I saw something splash into the lake as I was flying around with Peridot, and we landed.

"You go in, and try to see if it was him." She says. I nod and walk into the lake, slightly murky, but not impossible to see.
I then see a pink bubble in a deeper part of the lake, with Steven inside.

Why is he hiding? And why were Pearl and the others trapped?

"Steven!" I say, using my wings to swim up to him. "Lapis?! What are you doing here?! How did you find me?!" he asks, backing away a little.
I land in front of him and place my hand on the bubble. "Steven, we're all worried sick about you... Come on, let's just go back, and-"

"No!!" he shouts, making the water ripple from his power. It actually pushed me back a little, too.
"S-steven...-" I say, but he took a breath and popped the bubble, jumping out of the water. I follow, hurling myself up with my wings.

"Leave me alone, Lapis!! I don't want to hurt you!!" He says, I swear almost crying. "What?! Steven, you healed me! You would never hurt me, I know that!" I say.
"Yeah, well I never thought I'd hurt Connie, but I did!!!" he shouts. Before I could even ask, he's gone, so quick I couldn't see until a warp pad went off.

I landed in front of Peridot, who was frowning. "Steven... Hurt Connie...?" she says in a tone of shocked disbelief.
I didn't want to believe it. "It had to be an accident. Steven would never hurt someone on purpose." I say, picking her up and flying back to the gems.

-Pearl's POV-

The four of us Steven trapped - Garnet, Amethyst, Greg and I - have been trying to get out, and eventually, the wall dropped.

"Hey Greg... You alright...?" Amethyst asks. Greg sighs and looks down. "I-i don't know... I don't know anything anymore.. I just want to know what's happening to my son.... And if he's okay.."

I look away and frown sadly. I wish Steven would talk to me...

Lapis flew down with Peridot. "Did you find him?" I ask as she sets Peridot down and rubs her arm. "We did... But then he disappeared again... He moved so fast and took a warp pad to who knows where..." Lapis says.
"Great..." Amethyst says, crying a little.

"So... What happened with Connie...?" Peridot asks. "Three broken bones, a bunch of scratches, and a bruise on her head with a mild concussion.... She's lucky it's not worse, she was hurled at a rock..." I tell them.
Lapis covered her mouth. "S-steven threw her..?" I shake my head. "No, his powers got out of his control and threw Connie five feet away from him, straight into a rock behind her..." I explain.

I couldn't believe it.

-Steven's POV-

I needed to get away. I'd go back for food when I needed it, but not now.
I'm not sure why, but I ended up warping to the garden. Mom's garden.

And then I was off.

"Dammit Mom!!!" I say, immediately turning pink again. "Why did you have to do all that, huh?! Why did you rebel from Homeworld?! Why did you abandon Spinel?! Why did you have me and leave everyone alone?!! Why did you leave me to deal with all of your God dammed problems??!!" I shout, punching one of the pillars.

"I didn't know you were so mad at Pink..." I hear a voice say behind me. I turn around to see a sad looking Spinel, and my pink form immediately dies down again.
"Spinel..? What are you doing here?" I ask her as she walks up to me. "I come here sometimes.. I wasn't expecting company, but I won't complain.. You were yelling at her?" she says, sitting down next to me as I do so.

"Yeah... I wonder if she can hear me... I mean, I have her gem..." I sigh. "You know, part of me wishes you took my gem out when you hit me with the rejuvenator.." I tell her.

-Third Person POV-

"What...? Why would you want that?" Spinel says, looking at Steven with confusion.

"Because maybe then we'd both get to yell at her."
