"Argh... This isn't working!" Per idot shouts in frustration. "What's not working?" Calvin asks as he's leaning against the barn wall. "I can't find the other purple wire, I'll I can find is a red and blue wire, but no purple!" Peridot says as she appears to look upset. "Want me to take a look?" Calvin asks. "Sure, but this is complicated, even for me" Peridot says as she moves over. "Hmm... Have you thought about connecting the red and blue to the purple?" Calvin asks. "No" said Peridot "let me see that". Calvin moves out of the way. Peridot connects the the wires together. "What? But...how?" She asks. "It works!". "Well when you think of it blue and red make purple" Calvin says "and you needed a purple wire for it to work". "b-b-but how do you know this? Peridot asks. " I'm a lot smarter than I look" Calvin says with a smile. Peridot blushes "I guess you are". "Hey guys! I got doughnuts!" Steven yells displaying a box of doughnuts. "Alright I'm starving!" Calvin says excitedly, making a break for the doughnuts. "Hmm..." Peridot says as she grabs her tape recorder. "Log date 7 2 3 2, 'the Calvin' has helped us overcome the difficulty we had with the drill. I'm, as they say, happy to report that we'll finally get more done with the drill. I also would like to report that I feel, odd, being around 'the Calvin', I'll investigate further on my condition. Peridot out." She says as she puts away the tape recorder.
