Pearl is surprised by Calvin being a gem, but quickly regain her composure. "Well let's see for ourselves" she says. "Oh boy here we go again" said Peridot as she continues to work on the drill. "Alright let's do this again said Calvin as he's taking his shirt off. "Wow!" Said Amethyst "your gem is red AND yellow!". " I will admit that is impressive, but is it real?" Pearl asks with disbelief. "Right" said Calvin as his gem glows. He reaches for his gem and as he pulls his hand away, a sword appears in his hand again. "Well" said Pearl, finally convinced "I'll have to ask you a few more questions". "Sure that's fine" Calvin says. Peridot turns around "put a shirt on first!" She shouts as she blushes. "First question. How old are you?" Pearl asks. "I'm 18 years old" Calvin answers. "Question two" Pearl says "why do you want to join the crystal gems?". "I want to defend the earth from the evil monsters,I would be willing to risk my life to protect the earth and everything I love" Calvin finishes. "Hmmm... I don't know, Garnet what do you think?" Pearl asks. "Well" said Garnet as she pulls the drill part from the main mechanism"I think he should join the team". That was the final decision. "Well Calvin welcome to the team" Pearl says "you just need training and to help us with the drill". "Yes ma'am" Calvin says, as he salutes his tummy growls. "Do you have anything to eat? I'm hungry". "What?" Said Steven with a confused face. "Oh I forgot to tell you" Calvin says with a smile"I'm a half human and half gem".
