"Calvin became depressed, he wouldn't come out of the house, Ryan was very worried about him and tried to help him but Calvin ignored his dad. Calvin didn't talk much and he didn't smile for months. Almost a year passed by before Calvin found something extraordinary, a broken teleporter pad in his basement, he was so curious and kept digging around until he found a picture of another teleporter pad, this one was in the ocean area. It was the one I visited with Ryan a year before Calvin was born, we took a photo to remember that time. Calvin asked his dad what they were and Ryan explained to that gems used them to travel around earth, before the great gem war happened and most of the gems fled, leaving only the crystal gems to fend for earth. 'Sometimes I can see the pad glow for a minute and stop, meaning another pad was being used...or it was just the pad glitching every now and then'. Calvin believed the pad was glowing for the reason another was being active. Calvin believed that the crystal gems we're still on earth and wanted to find them. His dad knew Calvin should find them, so he could bond with the other half of him, Ryan was always supportive of Calvin. And for the first time in a year Calvin smiled, which made Ryan smile. A few days after that, Calvin Left the house with his favorite things, his guitar and pick in his case, a little satchel with a couple of books, his phone and charger, a few shirts, and his skateboard and his knee pad on his shoulder. He traveled half of the world looking for the crystal gems. He survived by playing the guitar and earned money to pay for food and to sleep in hotels. Eventually he found his way to beach city and found you guys" Aggie finishes. "...wow" Steven says "Calvin went through a lot". "He sure did" Garnet says, walking towards Steven. "How long were you there?" Aggie asks. "Actually, I just arrived, but I still know what happened " Garnet says "and I know it was a tough thing to go through, but that doesn't it'll happen again". "Thanks Garnet" Aggie says, standing up "so you know that it's time? " she asks. Garnet gods in response before turning to Steven "I think you and Peridot should go outside for a while ". "OK, cmon Peridot" Steven says, grabbing Peridot's hand and dragging her outside. "Will it actually work?" Peridot asks, almost on the verge of tears. "Knowing Garnet, it will work" Steven says. Garnet came out a few minutes later, holding the red and yellow gem of Calvin's. Peridot quickly grabs the gem and holds it close to her "when will he come back?" She asks. "Only time will tell" Garnet says "now, let's get some rest".
