Steven Helps Moonlight [Scrapped Scene]

There's going to be three types of stuff I write in this Extras.

Scrapped Scenes.
Unused Scenes.
Little Shorts.

A scrapped scene is basically a deleted scene where I decided not to add it in the final version of the story.

An unused scene is a scene where it hasn't been added in yet, but has the likelihood of being added.

A little short is obviously a non-canon short story.

Context: In another scrapped scene (that I hadn't made... yet), Steven had enough with Moonlight and hurts her in a way that's very different from what he does to everyone else. Steven forcefully shoved his fist through her mouth to break several of her teeth and broke her lower jaw, and now Moonlight's bottom jaw is permanently stuck hanging loose. And then Steven left her to rot in the sewers, because that's where it happened and Moonlight hadn't left since. Steven comes back to say he's sorry.

3rd Person P.O.V.

Steven had remembered where he had left Moonlight, but he wasn't sure if she was still there. She could have moved on while he was gone, but that would imply that she had the courage to leave and face going out into the public. Much like White Diamond from the past, Moonlight is self-conscious about her looks.

Moonlight has several broken teeth and her jaw is hanging loose, she looks more monstrous than before. Steven made it there, and his hunch was correct, Moonlight is still there. She's leaning on the wall behind her, her bottom on the ground.

Moonlight looks like she's resting, her hanging jaw drooling on herself and dried tears on her face. Steven dropped down in the sewer with Moonlight, because he honestly felt bad for her. Moonlight may have done some horrible things, but even she doesn't deserve something like this.

She can't even speak, she only makes incoherent noises.

"Moonlight?" Steven spoke softly, so he doesn't scare her.

Moonlight flinched and whimpered at the sound of Steven's voice. She used to be content and excited with Steven's voice, but after what he did to her, she's terrified of it. She was used to the usual beatings, but this one was personal, and she paid dearly for it.

Moonlight's eyes opened and saw Steven. She started to wail, attempting to back away from Steven but she already has her back against the wall. Steven could tell that Moonlight was trying to desperately say 'no' or 'get away.'

Realizing that she wouldn't be able to get away, Moonlight held her arm up and tried shielding her face from Steven's cruel and ruthless fists. She wanted to protect what little bit of perfection her face had left after Steven destroyed her jaw. She starts to tear up, out of fear for what Steven has in mind for her next physical torture.

Normally Moonlight likes it when Steven hurts her, because she has been through much more physical pain than the usual pain Steven inflicts on her usually feels like tickles. But after what Steven did to her, she doesn't want him to touch her at all. But the pain she was feeling wasn't physical, this was psychological.

Steven used to want Moonlight to be scared of him, because he grew tired and annoyed of her being 'used' to his empty threats and usual physical assaults. But this wasn't what he wanted. He wanted to give her a reason to be afraid of him, not trauma.

It's things like this that make Steven go 'soft' on his enemies that he fights. Because he hates putting them through such agony more than necessary. Like with Jade a long time ago, where he allowed a corrupted gem to bite her face and nearly corrupted her just for an interrogation method.

"Moonlight..." Steven said somberly, trying to reassure her that he means no harm.

Moonlight whimpered again. Moonlight barely pronounces 'no' with the 'N' by moving her tongue to the top of what's left of her teeth.

"Nuu..." Moonlight sniffled.

"Moonlight, it's okay." Steven consoled. "I'm not going to hurt you."

Steven went to see if he could take her hand, at the very least, but Moonlight snatched her hand away from him. Moonlight's tears slide down her pale face and maneuvers to her open mouth, mixing with her drool and snot.

"'Lease..." Moonlight begged, unable to pronounce her P's. "Nu..."

"Moonlight, I'm here to help." Steven tried being nice, even though he has no reason to be angry at her other than himself for doing this to her.

"Uh-uh..." Moonlight shook her head, still in refusal to accept Steven's appeasement.

Not that he blames her. He's lucky that she wasn't trying to fend for herself by attacking him.

"Moonlight, please..." Steven begs softly, seating himself in front of her instead of crouching down.

Moonlight notices this behavior that Steven demonstrated. Instead of being cautious and diligent, Steven relaxes himself and doesn't tense up at any sudden movement she does.

"I'm not here to hurt you." Steven replied, despite Moonlight not saying a word.

At least, none that are intelligible.

"Can I... get closer?" Steven requested, not wanting to invade Moonlight's personal space without her consent.

Moonlight meekly nodded, because she feared defying Steven. Steven sits next to her, almost leaning on her.

"Does it hurt?" Steven inquired. "Like... does it physically hurt?"

"Uh-huh..." Moonlight bemoaned in a groggy voice.

"Can I... try to fix it?" Steven made another request, doing his best to fix Moonlight's jaw.

He may not be able to fix her teeth without poofing her, but maybe he can fix her jaw. Moonlight remained silent, because she contemplated on whether she should let Steven fix her. He's the one who broke her jaw, but that doesn't mean he should fix it.

With her options being limited, she begrudgingly nodded.

Steven breathed out, "thank you."

Moonlight closes her eyes and braces herself for pain and discomfort. Steven gently grasped her contorted jaw and tried snapping it back into place so her face wasn't horribly disfigured. He could hear the slightest winces and sharpened inhales from Moonlight's gaping mouth when he maneuvered her loose jaw around.

Steven could feel where her jaw is supposed to go, but the joints are grinding and he needs to be more forceful with bringing her jaw back into place. Don't ask him how he knows this or why he has experience in doing this before. Moonlight lets out a cry when Steven pushes her jaw into place and lets out audible pops.

"Ahh..." Moonlight bellowed softly as she rubbed her fixed jaw.

"The pain should subside soon enough." Steven replied and then offered her his hand. "Come on, I can take you back to your place."

Moonlight looked hesitant. She looks up at Steven's pleading blue eyes and back at his offering hand. It's not that she doesn't think Steven is good for his word, well yes, but it's also because she seemed to doubt being comfortable with Steven anymore.

After all, he's the one who broke her jaw and teeth. Why should she have to go or do anything with him? Why did she even love him in the first place if all he's ever going to do is hurt her and have the nerve to 'feel bad about it?'

Moonlight wasn't sure anymore, she wasn't sure about anything. Steven still remained motionless, his arm still extended for her to take. He could wait for her all day if he has to.

Feeling like she doesn't care anymore, Moonlight took Steven's hand and he helped her slowly rise to her feet, being able to tower over him by a foot or two with her natural height. Moonlight's face still felt funny and bruised, which wasn't a surprise, Steven really hit her harder than he does. Still being generous, Steven put her arm around his shoulders, in case Moonlight barely had it in her to walk.

She definitely did have the capacity to maneuver her legs, but she did like the feeling of security Steven provided her with his body. Steven's body is such a marvel to feel and be touched by it. It sounds weird when describing it out loud, but in a personal standpoint, where it's only your mind to hear this, then it's completely normal.

You would think that for someone like Steven, whose physical demeanor is impassively aggressive and rough exterior to go along his stoked body, would be so rough when it comes to being handled by him. But he's as gentle as a nurturing parental figure. It's very rare to be bestowed with his gentleness and caring side, despite the fact that's how he really is behind the glares and tough personality.

That's just all that he really is, someone with a big, golden heart that hides it behind a tough and opaque wall. A lot of people and gems misinterpret Steven's serious behavior into him being 'too serious' or uptight, when it's just him protecting himself from the dangers of opening up. In Steven's life, you would die if you showed vulnerability, because he has a rogues gallery that will definitely take advantage of that.

Which is why he needs to do it privately in places like this to those who actually deserve it and not plead for it. Steven guided Moonlight to the Dondai, allowing her to lay down and stretch out in the backseat as he got into the driver's seat and began driving.
