So Arkham Edition has ended...

Honestly, I haven't fully felt the emotions of it ending, probably 'cause of how suddenly it felt for me.

Though, I'm honestly feeling a little bizarre that it's finally over. Arkham Edition felt like a mainstream type of story to me, like the AU series. Everything else felt like a side-story to me.

And now that it's over, what's next?

Will there be a sequel? I honestly don't know.

I don't wanna close the door on the universe and say that a sequel isn't possible, given how everything concluded. But on the same token, I don't know how the series could continue after the end.

It's sorta like how the story looked like it was going to end after Night 3 and it felt like it was time to end... and then Rose The Flower came into the picture and kept the story going for another thirty chapters, more or less.

You see, I'm nervous of continuing the Arkham Steven Universe due to the fact it can suffer Sequelitis.

For those of you who don't know what that means: it's basically when a sequel being added to a story ruins the hype/tone for it.

Movies suffer from this all the time; where the first movie was fantastic, but it's sequel ends up being a step-down.

Not to mention sometimes making a sequel would seem unnecessary due to how everything and everyone has concluded their stories.

Steven concluded his story by being a full human and getting married to Moonlight. If I were to make a sequel about Steven being a hero again, how would I make him adapt to it now that he's married and needs to settle down at some point?

It would seem kind of pointless to give conflict to a story when the original conflict has ended.

I don't mean to drag Disney/Marvel into this, but I'm going to use the MCU (Marvel Cinematic Universe) as an example.

Everyone agrees that the Infinity War and Endgame arc was MCU at it's peak, with Thanos being the ultimate threat and the infinity stones being the most powerful things in the universe. And when those movies being finished, you would think the MCU would settle down in terms of conflict and story - or just finish right then and there.

But no, they continue to make more movies/shows to expand the universe and continue to make more conflicts and decisions that completely undermine the consequences and pivotal moments in the Infinity War and Endgame that made them so impactful.

A quote that stuck with me about modern MCU is this: "I feel like they should stop making these movies where the villain is going to end the world/universe; 'cause the more they do that, the more Thanos seems to be forgotten."

The only thing that makes people remember Thanos is the fact Iron Man is dead. And if they bring him back, it would completely make the Infinity War/Endgame Arc be for nothing. I stopped watching the MCU and being involved with the series, since the stuff they're putting out either sucks or not good enough.

Anyway, back to Arkham, the story has basically reached the end and if I were to make a sequel, I could potentially ruin what we had for an ending.

I mean, how do you make a follow up after the barrage of villains.

White Diamond, Spinel, Crystal Knight, Rose The Flower... who's next?

Honestly, who could surpass them in terms of threat and intimidation? Nothing, at the moment so to speak.

So, to answer the very long and drawn-out question: will Arkham Edition receive a sequel?

The answer is maybe. Remember, it's not a yes, but not a no either.

IF I ever do a sequel, I want to make sure it doesn't suffer Sequelitis. And that may be a long time before that comes.

But for the time being, I will continue to update Arkham Extras with short stories and stuff to keep Arkham alive for a little bit. So yeah, the extras are still going.

Thank you and good night.
