Context: White Diamond (who is human-sized at the moment) has a friend help her travel to the canon Steven Universe to be a motherly figure for Canon Steven, since he is currently sad after the Aquamarine incident.

White Diamond: Steven? Steven, where are you?

White Diamond used her mind-reading power to help locate Steven, who appears to be hiding in the closet. She opened the door and found little Steven cowering at her presence.

White Diamond: Wh-Why are you hiding from me? 

Steven meekly looked at her.

Steven: Because e-everyone said you're a monster...

White Diamond's metaphorical heart felt like it was ripped out of her chest.

White Diamond: I'm not... I'm very nice.

White Diamond offered him a hand.

White Diamond: Don't be scared.

Steven hesitantly took it. 

Later:

White Diamond: Are you hungry?

White Diamond had a plate with a sandwich on it. Steven kindly took it, still feeling nervous by her presence.

Steven: Thanks.

Steven nibbled on the sandwich she made him, and it was surprisingly good. White Diamond's face beamed when she saw that he thoroughly enjoyed the meal she made for him.

Later [Again]:

Steven tried reaching for the jar of cookies on the top shelf, but he was too small for it. Suddenly, he was boosted up. He looked down and saw that he was standing on White Diamond's shoulders.

White Diamond: I can help.

Steven nervously smiled.

Steven: T-Thanks...

Later [Thrice]:

White Diamond noticed that Steven's emotions spiked up when he was talking to this girl he saw at the boardwalk. It looked like they knew each other, and they also had some turmoil, based on the looks of their faces. White Diamond quickly made her form change into a suit & tie, because she didn't think her Egyptian goddess attire was appropriate for the outside world. 

White Diamond: What's wrong here?

Connie: Who is she?

Steven: This is--

White Diamond: A gem friend! Anyway, what's going on?

Steven: I was just talking to Connie after what happened with Aquamarine.

White Diamond: What happened with Aquamarine?

White Diamond had a feeling she understood what happened, after briefly reading the memories of Steven and Connie. 

Steven: Well, I surrendered myself to Aquamarine to save my friends, and then I found out that my friend Lars was still on the ship she used to kidnap me with, and he sorta died on Homeworld, but I saved him with my healing tears.

White Diamond was nearly horrifed that Steven endured all of that. Yet, she didn't quite understand why this had to do with Connie.

Steven: And then, when I came back to Earth through Lion's mane, Connie got mad at me.

White Diamond's right eye turned soulless black with a white dot as a pupil, showcasing her slow-burn anger.

White Diamond: What for...?

Connie was going to answer, but White Diamond held her hand up to silence her so Steven can continue.

Steven: She got mad that I didn't include her on the 'adventure' to Homeworld, because we trained so much together, so she thought that we could beat both Topaz and Aquamarine, even though we were outmatched by them. And then she took Lion and my mom's sword, and I haven't heard from her in weeks.

White Diamond's left eye turned exactly how her right eye is. Then she turned to Connie.

White Diamond: You... did... WHAT?!

Connie immediately took off running, because she knew that look in White Diamond's eyes. Connie had seen her mother look at her like that before when she was about to be in trouble. White Diamond ran after her, her arms swinging wildly as she tried to catch Connie.

Steven: W-White, calm down!

White Diamond didn't seem to pay attention, as she was very, very 'displeased' with Connie's reaction towards Steven's traumatic experience on Homeworld. 

White Diamond: You! Get back here! 

Steven stopped and panted, because he wasn't in shape as White Diamond or Connie.

Later [Last Time]: 

White Diamond brought Connie back, holding her arm with an iron grip. 

White Diamond: Sorry about that. ^^

White Diamond's hand was clenching on Connie's forearm, bruising it. 

White Diamond: After having a "polite" discussion, Connie has something to say to you, right?

White Diamond let's go of her arm.

Connie: I'm... I'm very sorry... I won't do it again.

Steven: It's okay... I forgive you.

White Diamond clapped her hands excitedly. 

White Diamond: Excellent!
