Alex's POV
I woke up to a hyperactive green thing jumping on my stomach. I just look at it blankly "thanks for waking her up treecko" I hear Jaden say. 'So this is his new Pokemon cool' I think as I glare at the hyper boy. "You better have a good reason to wake me up" I growl while rubbing my eyes. "Yeah I think the fact that we're leaving on an adventure today would be a good enough reason to wake you up" Jaden says with a large smile. I jump out of bed suddenly causing Jaden to squeal and jump in surprise and ended up falling on his back. "Umm....sorry" I say with laughter, making my apology seem worthless. He gets up and grabs my hand before dragging me downstairs. "Jaden, you know I still have to get dressed, right?" I ask the boy while looking down at my black hoodie and baggy shorts. "Oh yeah. Well what are you waiting for go get ready!" He exclaims. I sigh at the hyper boys antics but race upstairs anyway. I throw on my black skinny jeans and grey tank top and black leather jacket. I walk downstairs to see Jaden in a pair of black jeans, a black top, a red jacket and a pair of red converse. I walk over to the shoes and pick out my black converse and put them on, then I get my black bag from in front of the door and look at Jaden with an expression that said 'dude hurry up'. He seems to get the message as he runs to get his red bag before walking over to me seeming calm. But the gleam in his eyes tells me otherwise. We both walk out the door and let our Pokemon out. My ralts sparkles when let out of the pokeball, a sign that it's a rare shiny ralts. Instead of having a green colouring, she's blue. "That is a beautiful ralts" a voice says from behind me and I jump in fear and hide behind Jaden who jumps in front of me to protect me. I look at where I was just standing and see a young man with silver hair and stone grey eyes "forgive me for startling you miss" the man spoke with a gentle voice. "Who are you?" Jaden asks still weary about the man wearing a suit. Ralts apparently wanted to introduce herself to the man, she walked over to him and hugged his leg. "Ralts" I whisper trying to get the Pokemon to come back and stay away from the stranger. "My names Steven, and you two?" Steven asks "I'm Jaden and this is Alex" Jaden says while slowly taking on a less defensive position. "Sorry about that. Alex seems to be scared of everything, sometimes even her own shadow" Jaden continues while looking at me with sad eyes. "I'm not scared...of my shadow... I'm just scared of people... and you know why jay" I mutter and touch the purple mark on my neck. I think the man heard what I said and noticed my actions as he looks at me in sympathy. "I think I have seen someone that looks like you but with brown eyes. He seemed to be looking for someone and I believe that someone is you" Steven said causing mine and Jaden's eyes to widen in fear. "I see you've found my daughter" said the voice I never wanted to see again. "That may be true, she is your daughter, but the way you treat her anyone would doubt it. If you stopped drinking for once then maybe she might consider coming home. Do you even know what your doing to her, do you know how many times she's turned up at my house crying because of you!" Jaden growls while standing in front of me protectively. "Ah Jaden, look at how much you've grown. Haha I wonder how much Jesse has grown" my father slurs in a drunken manor before walking over to us and pushing Jaden down to the floor and grabbing my wrist. My eyes widen in fear and my body freezes. "Metagross use psychic on the man" I hear Steven say to his pokemon. My dad glows a purple colour and moves away from me against his will. "Hey officer Jenny, I need your assistance" Steven says into his phone. My body refuses to move, frozen in fear. "Alex your ok now" Jaden says softly while standing up. My body starts to shake and tears blur my vision. "Hey your ok now" I hear an oddly familiar voice chime in. I look up and see teal hair and green eyes "Jesse..." I whisper in shock. "Yeah it's me lil' sis". Emotions flow through me so fast that I'm not sure I understand them all. "Jesse... it's really you" Jaden says before jumping into him in a hug. He then pulls back and slaps him "how could you leave her alone with that man?!" Jaden shouts with pain clear in his voice. Jesse hugs Jaden to comfort him "I left because he said he'd kill me if I didn't. I'm sorry but I had no choice" he said while glaring at the man being put in a police car. "When I get out, I'm coming for you Alex!" My father shouts as he gets pushed into the car. "Ignore him sis" Jesse says. I look around and see Steven talking to his metagross. I walk over to him "thank you" I say quietly. "For what?" Is Stevens reply. "if it wasn't for you I would've had to go 'home'" I say while brushing the hair from my face revealing the purple mark. "Why do you say it like that. Like there's nothing good about it.?" He asks curiously. "They say that home is where the heart is. Well I lost half of my heart when I lost my mother, I lost the other half when my brother disappeared a few days later." I say...
