Under Arrest (Doug Out)

Outside at the gates of Funland, Onion, the supposed culprit behind the mishaps of suspicion, stands in front of a torn fence which is immediately pointed out by Doug Maheswaran, the cop that patrols Beach City. He is also Connie's father.

Steven and Connie stand behind him patiently as Doug scolds Onion, assuming he broke the fence. "Well kid, this may have been a big misunderstanding, but you're still in trouble for this fence."

Onion glances back at the fence before pointing a finger at himself, shaking his head to acknowledge his innocence. Doug remains indifferent as his lips quiver in the tension. "Oh yes you are!" Steven and Connie decide to lend Onion a helping hand as they step in for him.

"Just...let him off the hook on this one. We already scared him straight." Connie nods to concur with him. "The law must be different for someone his age." Doug rolls his eyes with a pained sigh before airing out his attitude. "You learned your lesson?" With a nod, Doug turns back to his patrol car.

"Then you're free to go." He opens the driver's door as Connie follows suit to help Steven into the back. Onion, at this moment, hears something ominous coming from behind his back. His mindset shifts into a last resort mode as he leaps onto the car.

Doug widens his eyes along with Steven and Connie in a gasping grimace. Onion listens to the footsteps of the bulky colossus lurking a few feet away in the shadows steadily approaching him. Onion restrains himself from the reluctance of what he is about to commit.

Without warning, he curls his fjngers into fists and he starts jabbing at the car window, gradually cracking the frame. Doug's mood switches to aggression as he swings his side door open. He jumps out of the vehicle and he darts towards Onion.

He grips his arms and he forces them behind his back before whipping out his handcuffs. Onion shuts his eyes as he hears the cuffs snaps onto his wrists. "Damaging a police car is a strict violation of a felony! If you thought loitering did you no good, THIS will truly do you such harm!"

He drags him off the hood of the front of the car and over towards the driver's seat. "Come on!" He launches him inside before he enters his side, slamming the door shut. Steven and Connie exchange looks of grave astonishment as Doug grabs the shift stick, pushing it all the way down to R.

The car backs up from the entrance. With a quick counterclockwise steer, the car turns its back on the two silhouettes waiting in the shadows before Doug switches over to D to drive away. He presses two fingers against his forehead as he closes his eyes.

Onion experiences a mixture of relief and anxiety as Doug clenches his teeth, stepping on the gas to pick up speed. "I don't understand. I was letting you off the hook. But for some ridiculous reason, you decided to take advantage of your pardon by damaging my car!"

Steven casts his eyes down on the floor as he attempts to comprehend Onion's true intentions on getting himself arrested so unexpectedly. So far, all he can come up with is Onion's twisted personality. He relies on references from the time he traded for his own G.U.Y. to his presence in his bedroom of oddities.

Connie, who doesn't know Onion as well as her friend, does no more than shrug on the mystery. Onion kicks his feet simultaneously back and forth as he looks down at the cuffs binding his wrists together up to a foot apart.

His lips curl down from his realization that he has truly become a criminal which he never intended to become especially in the eyes of Beach City. Yet here he is in Doug Maheswaran's patrol car. The cons outweight the single advantage that he currently has.

Although that may be the case for him, Onion does have protection despite his charges and the effects that he will induce upon his friends and family from his reckless actions. The car takes a sharp turn to its left as a small station comes into the passengers' perception.

The car rolls over into a parking lot which could hold no more than about a dozen cars. Doug turns off the ignition and the lights dim down into darkness. Doug motions a hand to Steven and Connie. "Wait here. I'll be right back."

He pulls open his side of the car and he presses a hand against it to push it shut. Onion listens to his footsteps tap across the concrete from the rolled down window on Doug's side as he exhales in a silent manner. His side door opens and Onion steps down from the car.

He glances back at Steven and Connie to take a gander at their shaking heads with furrowing foreheads and narrowed down eyes before proceeding into the station. The door echoes shut behind him as Doug motions for him to follow through the corridor of cells.

Doug stops at one to his right before taking out a ring of dull, rotted keys. He inserts a silver one into the lock, turns it, and pulls it out. The door opens ajar with a creak and Onion hangs his head down as he willingly steps into his cell. Doug shuts it before repeating the process with his key.

He groans. "I'll come back tomorrow to see how you're doing. Then we can discuss some REAL charges with your family." He waves a hand without looking back over his shoulder "Good night." He pushes the door open and with a echo, Onion finds himself within the moonlight.

No sooner than half a minute later, two figures overshadow him. The smaller figure with wings snaps her fingers and almost instantly, the brute breaks through the wall causing bits of cement to fly in direction. He ducks and covers his head, shuddering from the breakthrough of his captors. "Onion I think. Excellent. Five to go."
