Steven has been wondering about what his mother, Rose, was really like. Tonight, Steven has decided to enter his mother's room for answers that he hopes would bring him to closure. Right now, he's right next to his mom, laying his head on her lap, tearing up from the comfort of his mom's precense.

"Wow. This is nice." He smiles as his eyes well up. "Really nice. I...I should've tried this a long time ago."
"But Steven, don't you realize we've been together this whole time?"  Steven laughs as his mother smiles down on him. "Oh! That's-that's right! I." He sniffs as a tear escapes his eye.

"Oh! This is the first time we've hung out together!" He takes his cell phone out his pocket and he holds it up to face him and Rose. "I gotta capture this moment!" He frowns, staring to realize that this whole time..."There's nothing here but me."

He angles the phone only to find himself in a dark background. "I'm just...talking to myself." He gets up as he puts his phone away. "You're not my mom." Rose widens her eyes with a frown. "I'm not?" Steven looks away from her. "This is how I want you to be. I don't know if this is who you really are."

The sky turns dark as the light in the room fades. "I've learned things about you. Things you've wanted to keep secret. You locked Bismuth away inside Lion because she wanted to shatter Gems and you never told Garnet or Pearl."

Rose bends her head down as Steven raises his voice, glaring at her. "And you shattered Pink Diamond. Now Homeworld has it out for Earth and The Crystal Gems and me! You've put us all in danger and you just DISSAPEARED!"

Lightning flashes and the clouds Starr to swirl around him and Rose as she stands before looking down at him. Steven flies from the ground into the sky as he yells. Lightning strikes again as he hits the ground. Steven gets up on his stomache to look up at Rose. "I finally know the truth!"

Rose floats in the sky as her hair and dress billow in the wind. "I know what you are! YOU'RE A LIAR! I thought you never wanted to hurt anyone! But you hurt everyone! How could you just leave Garnet and Amethyst and Pearl and-and Dad?! They don't know what to do without you!"

Steven gets up as he continue to confront Rose. "Maybe they didn't matter to you as much hiding from the mess you made! And that's why I'm here, isn't it?!" He points a finger up at her. "Did you make me just so you wouldn't have to deal with all of your mistakes?!"

Rose stays silent as Steven's fists tremble. "How could you?! Why would you?! I...don't understand!" He collapses before her as he sobs. "I...I...I HATE YOU!" The storm picks up even more as Steven clenches his teeth.

"I never want to see you again! If you really cared, you wouldn't have made me to be this-this sheild to protect yourself! NOW LEAVE ME ALONE AND DON'T COME BACK!" Tears stream down from his eyes as the room starts to collapse. Steven gasps before he gets up.

He dashes for the exit and he jumps into the temple before the door slams shut behind him. Steven huffs as he looks up at the Rose Quartz portrait hanging on the wall. Steven look away as he gets up. He storms over to the couch before he sits down to lay on it.

Even though he knows she wasn't real, Steven believes that he really did just say what he didn't really mean to the real Rose Quartz. The front door opens as Greg and The Crystal Gems enter the temple. "Hey, Shtooball! Guess whose back in jean shorts!"

Steven doesn't turn his body to look at them. His face is red, steaming with anger and decorated with tears. Greg and the Gems frown, noticing something's wrong. "Is he asleep?"
Steven is wide awake, trying to get sleep.

He curls up to get more comfortable. Greg sits down next to him as he lifts up the top of a box of pizza. "I got pizza!" He forces a smile which quickly diminishes. "Steven?" Amethyst and the others sit down with him.

"Is he alright? He's not answering." The final words that Steven said replay in his head as he squints his eyes. Greg rubs his side to try to jerk him awake...but Steven still isn't asleep. If anything, he's only getting more and more annoyed with their precense around him.

Steven finally sits up as Greg embraces him. "How's it going? You scared me there for minute there. Did you have a nightmare or-!" Steven pushes Greg away from him and he storms off towards the warp pad. "Steven?" Steven steps up onto it and the light carries him away.

Greg's mouth hangs open as he stares in the direction in which his son has gone. "What happened to him? Where did he go?" Garnet looks up at the Rose Quartz portrait, narrowing he eyes. "Hm." Pearl and Amethyst exchange anxious looks before they look down at the ground as the storm carries on outside.
