Doggo & Pupper

"Alright pupper! Ya ready to go to the dog park?" You cutely talked to your Golden Retriever puppy, Faramir. (You can always change breed in your mind)

Faramir happily barked licking your hand as you put on his leash. You picked him up caring him to the elevator. A mother and daughter walked into the elevator with you and since you had just moved into your apartment, you decided to introduce yourself and Faramir to the mother and daughter.

"Can I pet Faramir y/n?" The little girl you learned was named Luna.

"Of course. In fact why don't you hold him the rest of the ride?" You smiled at her as her mother told her to be careful while holding him.

"You know, there's a man here with a dog too. He let me pet it since mom doesn't want me to have a dog."

"Oh okay. Maybe I'll run into him."

The little blonde smirked as she handed Faramir back to you. "Maybe so. See ya later y/n." She waved and you all went your separate ways.

You put down Faramir and began to walk in the direction of the dog park. Since you moved to Brooklyn you hadn't made any friends so you hoped to make a friend at the dog park.

You were getting very close when you heard the sound of a dog bark. You noticed there weren't that many people at the park today. You were kinda relieved not wanting to be near to many people.

Then you heard little barks. The barks belonged to Faramir, and before you could tell him to stop he was running to the park causing you to lose your grip on the leash.

"Faramir! Faramir!" You began to run already losing your breath.

"Oh, I'm outta shape. I haven't ran since high school, and that was a requirement. This is one of the reasons I'm so fluffy. I'm too lazy. Now Faramir is gonna go off and-" you were so busy trying to keep up, maintaining your breath, and looking down that you ran right into something... Or someone.

You were falling back so you closed your eyes for impact. "Ahhhhhhhh!" You screamed until you realized you hadn't fallen on the ground. You slowly opened your eyes and realized a man, who you assumed you ran into, was holding you smiling and chucking softly. He was quite handsome with hair of gold and eyes like the sky on a clear day. He was rather tall and muscular. Then you woke up from your little dream.

"Oh my goodness, I ran into you. I'm so sorry. Oh no... Where is Faramir. Oh crap I'm a bad momma. Have you seen my Faramir. I... I'm sorry. He's just a little puppy. He's a golden retriever... He."

"He's fine. In fact is it wired that he's with my dog... Well it' probably wouldn't been weird if her name wasn't Eowyn."

He let go of you like he'd already forgotten that you ran into him. He turned you to where Faramir was playing with a Husky a little bigger than him.

"Eowyn is my Husky puppy. She's probably a little older than Faramir, but I rescued her." He smiled like a proud dog father.

"Aww. I have always wanted a husky." Your giggled.

"I'm Steve Rogers by the way."

"Y/n L/n."

You extended her hand and instead of shaking your hand Steve opted for a hug. "Sorry. I've always been more of a hugger."

"It's fine... You know... You look familiar... Wait a minute... I don't know who you are, but I do know I pulled your picture from the internet for my art assignment. That... That probably sounded weird didn't it?"

"You're doing art?"

"Yeah at college. I'm trying really hard to improve my people drawings. I... I actually have a picture of the drawing... That is if you wanna see."

You pulled up the drawing of Steve in the park sitting on the grass looking up at the sky. Steve looked over her shoulder and was quite impressed. She turned back to him and noticed his cheeks were tinted a bright red.

"That's... That's really good. Umm. Well... I hope this doesn't change anything, but you might wanna know I'm Captain America." He looked down hoping it wouldn't change your mind of him.

"Steve... I...I... Oh now I see it. Sorry I don't watch the news, and now I remember you from history class... Honestly I only see the man in front of me today. I know you've been through a lot, but you're strong enough to be living life and getting out there you know... I guess that's what I'm trying to say. I'm not going to change the way I think of you because you're Captain America. You know what... Let's just let this go and play with our puppers yeah?"

He looked up smiling again slightly laughing, "Pupper?"

"Yeah puppies... I don't know. I'm weird, and I liked this term compared to most new lingo today. Anywho... Come on now Steve." You grabbed his hand taking him to the Faramir and Eowyn. You let go of his hand and took Faramir's leash off.

"Steve can I pet Eowyn?" You looked up at him from your seated position.

"Sure you can... Only if I can pet Faramir."

You both loved each other's puppies petting them and holding them. Eventually you let the puppies play with each other again and you and Steve sat together on a bench.

Then it got late in the evening. Steve and you got up to your puppies putting on their leashes and walked out the park.

"Well can I at least walk you to your apartment?" Steve asked scratching the back of his neck.

"Oh of course. You know as soon as we get there before you leave, remind me to exchange numbers with you. I would say now, but my phone is almost dead, and I don't remember my phone number."

He nodded and without thinking grabbed your hand. You noticed, feeling your cheeks heat up. The puppies walked side by side in front of you and anyone walking past you both would assume you were the cutest couple.

Finally you reached it to your apartment building and Steve kinda looked at you in shock.

"You live here?" He smiled.

"Yes. I just moved here."

"I live here."

Then you walked to the elevator pressing the seventh floor button.

Then Steve just laughed. "Wow. This is the weirdest day. First a beautiful lady runs into me. Her dogs named Faramir, and mine is named Eowyn who only played with each other. Then I find out we not only live in the same complex, but we also live on the same floor." He looked down at you never letting go of your hand.

"You... You think I'm beautiful."

"I do." He looked down as his cheeks turned red again.

"Thank you... No one that's not related to me has ever told me that before."

"Well then people obviously don't know what they're missing." He looked up this time more confident smirking.

Then you realized something, "Your the man with the dog Luna talked about today. What's funny is we joked I might run into you today, and I did run into you today eheh."

"You met Luna and her aggravating mother."

"I noticed that too, and yeah. I did. Luna's sweet."

"Yeah. She was the first person to talk to me when I moved in too."

The elevator dinged signaling that they had made it to their floor. Then you stopped at your door. "Well this is me."

"Yeah and this is even more weird since I'm actually you're neighbor. I live right in front of you."

"Wow. Weird. Well I know now that we're neighbors, but can we still exchange numbers?"

"Of course." He handed his phone to you, and you gave your phone to him. You both returned each other's phones when you finished.

"Well... I um haven't been on a date in over seventy years, but I'd really like to go out on a date with you. If you want."

"I'd like that."

"Faramir and Eowyn can come too."

"Of course. They already really like each other." You giggled.

"Maybe the park nearby. There aren't many people there, and I can tell you're just like me not wanting to be near too many people."

"That's lovely."

"Well, then it's a date." Steve beamed.

"It's a date." Y/n returned the smile. There was a moment where you both just looked into each other's eyes. You slowly moved closer to each other drawn like magnets. Then he took you in his arms, and you wrapped your arms around his neck. You both leaned closer until your lips softly touched. He held you delicately like porcelain, but his kiss gave you butterflies in your stomach. Then he broke the kiss.

"You were my first kiss since the forties."

"And you were my first kiss ever." You blushed.

"Well I'm glad you saved your first kiss for me." He looked at you sweetly.

"I know this is cliche and cheesey, but I honestly see my  future with you."

"Me too." Steve kissed your forehead as the puppies jumped and barked like they knew what was happening.

"You know... Maybe you could come over for a dinner date. I make a mean lasagna."

"Sure."

You both ate the tasty food and you kissed one more time before he went back to his apartment. When you shut the door, you realized that there was nothing to be afraid of starting life here because you had met such an amazing man.

Steve Rogers.
