Chapter One - Hovertrain Hell

I sit on the hovertrain, a calming Earth game soundtrack playing in my ears. I'm heading into the city centre to check out an art installation run by my brother Nauru.

"Jewel can you please come to my show. It's extremely important to me." Nauru begs, jumping up and down.
"Sure." I laugh, and his eyes lighten.
"Oh thank you, sister! I'll be sure to get you front row seats!"

I look to my left at the rabbit hybrid sitting next to me, texting, a human girl whispering into her flopped ears, clearly interested in the conversation. I turn back and look out the window at the silver tunnel walls, wondering about what it must be like being a human. I had only seen some before, as most kept out of my way, but their lives are so similar to ours, their appearance almost like an Anhemite. I can't believe the Carnivores are still powerful. The train slows to a halt, and some people rise to get off, including a strikingly familiar cloaked figure with horns.

A well-built man gets on the train, a man who is clearly Anhemitian. He wears no hybrid disguise.

His sloping nose, the horns beneath his eyes and down his arms, and the crossed pupils are out there for any human and any foreign alien to see. The cloaked man is immediately confronted.  I pull my earbuds out, the girl next to me raises an ear.

"What are you doing here?" he growls at the other hybrid, pushing him slightly.
"Taking a train, isn't it obvious." the man's voice is calm, but I sense strength. My tail starts to flick nervously.
"Yeah, but you're friends with a human. So get off traitor."
I am taken aback at the words, and so are the other passengers. The teenager quickly hides her human friend, who comes quickly to her hands. The Anhemite pushes past the cloaked figure to sit at the back of the train, while hooves click against the lino as the confronted man exits.

A mouth with quite intimidating fangs is opened, and a third eye is revealed. "This bus has been claimed by me, Carnivore Nyall. Anyone not heading to the 4th sector, out, and anyone human should get off right now."

"And anyone human should get off right now." the voice of the hybrid penetrates through to our section of the train, and the people around me start to panic. My friend André immediately stands up and gets his bag, waiting for a gap in the aisle.
"I know that voice Mark, and we should get off." he says as I put my bag on my back.
"But, where will we go?" I ask, standing up and walking into the aisle behind him.
"We'll find another train and get back home." his voice is cold as we descend the stairs to exit the train. We may be living in a pretty technological world, but we sure don't get to see much of it. I walk onto the platform, shivering at the cold wind of the evening, and watching humans and hybrids alike getting off the train.
"Hey André, where's the nearest human info sector." I ask, looking around and clutching my bag. There's no reply. I turn just in time to see a large horned hand pick him up in its fist.
"ANDRÈ!" I yell, helpless as my friend is taken away from me.

I sit on the bench waiting for the next train, checking the time and hoping that I can make it to the show. A yell reaches my ears and I bolt upright, twisting my ears to find the source. I zero in on a small figure right next to the train and walk over to it.
It's a human. He has light brown skin and dark dreadlocks, and he clutches two bags in his hands. He notices my approach and freezes, shivering slightly. I squat down and watch him, tail curled around my feet.
"Hi, do you need help?" I ask politely.
"Please... leave." he is shaking all over, and his voice wobbles.
"What's wrong?" I ask, noticing his sadness. He looks up at me, extremely scared.

"M-my friend w-was taken away. I don't know how to get home and I..." he stops, curling into a bundle. I can't help it, I slowly scoop my hands around his body, picking up his bags too. He lets out a soft cry but doesn't seem to resist in any other way. I try to stand up slowly because pro-human ads say that sudden changes in height or gravity can cause humans to faint, especially when they're stressed or extremely anxious, and when I check him he seems to have passed out. I place him the pocket of my hoodie and pull out my phone. It's pretty ancient, modelled after an old Earth phone, but it has some modifiers in it to keep it working. I open the messages app and scroll down a bit to my chat with Nauru.

have to tell him, he'll understand

Hi guys, and welcome to the rewrite of Stereotypes Lie.
I wanted to redo this because I really love the story, but I wrote pretty badly in Year 6 and 7. Now that I have more skills and more ideas for the world of this story, I want to update it and make it even better.
Sorry that I died forever, I just had no ideas for where the sequel was going, but, I hope you'll like this as much as the original.
Boi,
