Jewels POV
I felt like I had been dumped in a bucket of ice water. I felt Marks body tense around me and then I became still. 'What did you say?' whispered Mark in a voice dripping with venom. 'I said, give me your Neko' repeated the man. Thoughts and pictures creep into my head. Mark giving me to the strange man, never seeing him again and other, more gruesome things. My thoughts were slashed by Mark's hand reaching into his pocket to open it up so he could see me. I looked up into his never ending brown eyes as he said 'Don't worry, I won't give you up to this guy.' I smiled warmly at him and he smiled at me.

I looked at the well built man before me as he talked to his Neko friend, trying to figure out if I could punch out his lights or not. I knew I had to have her or I was dead. 'Are you done yet? I can't wait here all day' I growled. The man looked up and his faced twisted into a snarl. 'You won't have her, you *#@&?' I was surprised at the insult and more surprised that he still wanted to keep his pathetic friend, even when facing an A Class Mage like me. It made me want to throw up. 'Okay then, we'll have to do it the hard way' I said, glad to be doing some violence. I summoned two dark plasma fuelled fires and they instantly appeared in my hands. 'Are you ready, to die?' I said, my fireballs ready.

Marks POV
'No, just let me do this' I said back to the evil sorcerer in front of me, and sparks of annoyance flared in his eyes. Without breaking eye contact I put my hand in my pocket and pulled out Jewel. Her ears were flattened and her tail was fluffed. I held her up to my eyes and said. 'Whatever happens, promise me you'll run' She nodded and I placed her down on a bedside table. I felt sad to see the pain in her eyes, but I tore my gave away to face the man. I was ready and willing to protect my friend from this evil man. I looked into his brilliant purple eyes and challenged him. 'Do your worst' I said smiling.
