Luke POV
I stared at the patch at my feet, dumbfounded. Leanne was my strategist, and my most trusted member of the entire army. What was I going to do without her?

I bent slowly to pick up the patch. A black sickle on a red background.

"Leanne-" I started, but she glared at me. The girl's glare is stronger than Medusa's I swear.

"I'm done, Luke." She turned on her heel and stomped out of the tent. I started after her, but an invisible force stopped me.

/Absolutely not./ Kronos' voice said in my mind. /She's made her choice./

"Shut up." I growled, trying to get past his block. Slowly he forced me to my knees.

/Look, Castellan, she's made her decision. Let it be. You don't need her./

His voice was coaxing, and I could sense the power in it.

"She's the strategist, you idiot. We won't last 4 days without her."

Kronos bristled a little at the insult, but wouldn't let me go.
/we don't need her. Unless you want her back for a different reason..../

That struck a nerve.
"Shut up. Shut the Hades up." I snarled angrily.

/You don't deny it. There is no time for relationships in this war. You want to take down the gods, do you not?/

I nodded silently.

/that's what I thought. So shut up and let your little girlfriend leave. She obviously doesn't want the same outcome as you, as she refused a mission, then returned her symbol of the army./

As much as I hated it, a doubt niggled in the back of my mind. What if Leanne really wasn't loyal? I mean, she wasn't anymore, cause she just left, but what about before that? Could I really have trusted her? Probably not....

I shook my head, trying to drive out those thoughts.

"Stop it. You're making me think that. You're making me think bad of her."

Kronos chuckled quietly. /I did nothing, Castellan./

The pressure on me to stay in one place disappeared, but I stayed on my knees, feeling numb.

"Leanne....."
