BEHOLD! HIS CRUSH!
His back pack was falling down. He caught it in midway. When everyone had carried their disappointed skeletons out of class, there was now only an over-surprised brown haired boy with junks of a trillion questions hanging on his mind. You know that kind of weird feeling you get when your mom finds you downstairs locked in her bedroom.
So, you just continue staring at her. She stares back at you waiting for an explanation.
That is the exact situation the red-eyed comrade had found himself in. He did not want to appear brainy. He was personally as shy as a dog in fasting period. Attention was not on his menu as per say. But exactly how did he become so smart, he never knew.
Whether he cried or shoved his shirt, nothing could undo it, however. The attention he had attached to himself was now a disease. Amidst these tongue-defying thoughts, his flabby ears picked up a voice.
It was kind, patient, and above all delicious. Yes, delicious as a cake mixed in ice-cream and then served during the summer heat on a vacation. Her voice rang like a telephone in his ears.
"Please, may I sit near you!"
Argh, I have to admit. Stephen went nuts. He checked his watch, then his bag. He conceded as if he was looking for something deep in his bag. But again, it wasn't in the bag, so he searched under the desk, under his books. He was searching for courage.
But since he couldn't find it, he picked up a pen which had fallen from his very hands, showed it to her- as if she had a gift for him- then like a devoted puppy looking at its master, his eyes fell down on his desk.
"Please, I am so sorry if I am disturbing you," she cocooned her shoulders like an ashamed little girl who fears her parents will not let her go for the show, "I just wanted you to help me with this algebra equation."
She pulled out her green text book and moved it closer to his scared face. A neat handwriting like that of an angel writing to the sinners below, enclosed a four lettered word.
It was her name. Lynn.
